Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Tuja Shuttle Run training on improving the speed and agility of male futsal athletes in Magetan Regency and to examine the role of Body Mass Index (BMI) characteristics in supporting physical performance. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method through a one-group pretest-posttest design. There were 20 subjects selected purposively based on the criteria of active training and no injuries. The instruments used included BMI measurement, a 20-meter sprint test for speed, a Multistage Fitness Test to estimate VO?max, and an Illinois Agility Test for agility. The Tuja Shuttle Run training program was carried out in a structured manner for several weeks with high intensity and a controlled rest ratio. The results showed a significant increase in speed and agility, as indicated by a decrease in test time, as well as changes in BMI that were more supportive of movement performance. The paired sample t-test showed a significance value of < 0.05 for all variables, so it can be concluded that the Tuja Shuttle Run training effectively improves the biomotor components of speed and agility and supports the anthropometric characteristics of futsal athletes.

Abstract

Science education in schools still faces obstacles in the form of low self-confidence among students, which results in a lack of active participation during the learning process. Applying the Problem-Based studying (PBL) paradigm with YouTube video as a support, this research seeks to investigate the relationship between students' self-confidence and their degree of engagement in studying science. Students in eighth grade at a public junior high school were chosen at random to participate in the quantitative study, which used a correlational survey methodology. Two surveys, one measuring learning activity and the other self-confidence, were used. For data that was assumed to be regularly distributed, we used Pearson's correlation test; for data that did not, we used Spearman's test. A correlation coefficient of 0.713 and a significance value below 0.001 indicated a strong positive relationship between learning activities and self-confidence. According to the results, pupils are more engaged in their scientific education when they feel good about themselves. Finally, the PBL paradigm, which is based on YouTube, may be a useful alternative to traditional classroom instruction for boosting students' interest, engagement, and retention of scientific concepts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how the use of learning media affects the motivation and performance of SMAN 4 Pamekasan grade X English students. A total of 36 students from two courses made up the study sample. Google Classroom was the medium via which the study's instructors sent course materials and other information to their students. Questionnaires, exams, and records were used to gather data in a quantifiable manner. Using random selection procedures, the classes that would later become the control and experimental groups were chosen. The findings demonstrated that students' interest and learning outcomes were impacted by the utilisation of Google Classroom as a learning medium, in comparison to the non-using group. The results show that in class XI at SMAN 4 Pamekasan, there was a notable disparity in learning interest scores (0.045 < 0.05) and learning outcome scores (0.014 < 0.05) when Google Classroom and Google Forms were used.A more successful digital learning method may be implemented by schools, instructors, and students via the usage of Google Classroom and Google Forms, which have been shown to enhance student engagement and learning results.

Abstract

Low learning motivation is one of the main obstacles in English language learning in vocational schools, which has an impact on the suboptimal academic results of students. This study aims to determine the effect of applying group discussion and video-based learning methods on students' interest and learning outcomes in English at SMKN 1 Robatal. Using a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design, this study involved learning outcome tests and learning interest questionnaires as instruments, which were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, ANOVA, and Spearman's rho correlation. The results showed that the experimental group obtained higher average scores than the control group, with a significant difference in learning interest (p = 0.006). After controlling for pretest scores, the posttest scores of the experimental group increased by 5.442 points and showed a significant difference (F = 15.766; p = 0.000) with a large effect size (partial eta squared = 0.360). In addition, a strong positive correlation was found between learning interest and learning outcomes (r = 0.504; p = 0.004). These findings confirm that the digital media-based collaborative learning model is relevant to the demands of the 21st century, although the generalization of the results is still limited to one school, so further research is needed on various subjects, education levels, and the integration of other interactive technologies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of continuous run and interval training on improving speed, agility, aerobic and anaerobic endurance of male futsal athletes in Magetan Regency. The background of this study stems from the physical demands of futsal, which requires aerobic ability to maintain performance throughout the game and anaerobic ability to support repeated explosive activities. The research method used a pre-test and post-test design with the Illinois Agility Test to measure agility, a 20 m sprint to measure speed, MFT to measure aerobic endurance (VO?max), and a 300 m sprint to measure anaerobic endurance. The training program was carried out for 8 weeks with 3 training sessions per week. Data analysis used the Paired Sample t-Test at a significance level of 0.005. The research sample consisted of 20 male futsal athletes aged 16-20 years. The results showed a significant increase in agility, speed, aerobic endurance, and anaerobic endurance after the implementation of the training program. Thus, the combination of continuous run and interval training proved to be effective in improving both energy systems required for futsal performance.

Abstract

Explosive muscle power is a fundamental physical component that supports the execution of technical movements in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, particularly in actions such as takedowns, sweeps, and guard passes that require rapid and powerful force generation. Nevertheless, many training programs implemented at the regional level remain general and have not yet applied specific strength training methods aimed at developing speed–strength capacity. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Time Controlled Speed Strength Method (TCSSM) in enhancing the explosive power of the arm and leg muscles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes in Magetan Regency. This research applied a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach involving 15 athletes aged between 15 and 23 years who had a minimum of three years of training experience. Participants completed a TCSSM-based strength training program for six weeks with a frequency of three sessions per week. The explosive power of the upper limbs was assessed using the Medicine Ball Throw (MBT) test, while lower limb explosive power was measured using the Vertical Jump (VJ) test. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Paired Sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed a significant improvement in both variables following the training intervention. The mean MBT score increased from 5.39 m in the pretest to 5.99 m in the posttest, while the mean VJ score improved from 0.62 m to 0.68 m. Statistical testing confirmed significant differences between pretest and posttest scores for MBT (t = -7.937; p < 0.05) and VJ (t = -6.159; p < 0.05). These results indicate that the TCSSM-based training program effectively improves the explosive power of both arm and leg muscles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes. Accordingly, TCSSM can be considered an effective and applicable strength training method to support the physical performance development of grappling athletes.

Abstract

Purpose: This study explores how faith-based environmental stewardship practices in rural Muslim communities in Lombok, Indonesia, function as an embedded system of informal environmental education. Despite growing scholarly interest in community-based and indigenous approaches to environmental learning, the pedagogical dimensions of Islamic ecological practices in non-Western rural settings remain underexplored. Methodology: Drawing on an ethnographic approach, this study employed participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and documentary analysis across three rural villages in Lombok over an eight-month period. Thematic analysis guided the interpretation of data from thirty-two community members, including religious leaders, farmers, youth, and women. Results: Four interlocking themes emerged: (1) the mosque and Islamic religious gatherings as ecological classrooms; (2) ritualized environmental practices as lived curriculum; (3) intergenerational transmission of faith-based ecological knowledge through community elders and religious figures; and (4) Islamic faith as an intrinsic motivational framework for pro-environmental agency that transcends fear-based or economic incentive approaches. Conclusions: The findings suggest that faith-based environmental stewardship constitutes a sophisticated, culturally embedded pedagogical system capable of sustaining ecological values across generations. These practices challenge the dominance of formal, school-centred models in environmental education research and offer transferable lessons for place-based, community-anchored environmental education policy and practice globally.

Abstract

It is crucial for classroom instruction to foster pupils' capacity for original thought and analysis. Various points of view may be evaluated by students who possess strong critical thinking abilities. At the same time, encouraging kids to think outside the box encourages them to come up with novel ideas and approaches to old challenges. In this study, we'll look at how TBSM SMKN 2 Pamekasan's tenth graders used the flipped classroom concept to foster more critical thinking and creative thinking among their peers. Students' poor levels of critical thinking and creativity in response to course content are shown by this study's observations of grade XI students at SMKN 2 Pamekasan. In this quantitative investigation, the Non-Equivalent Pre-test Post-test Control Group approach was used as a quasi-experimental approach. The overarching goal of this design was to determine if and to what degree the flipped classroom approach significantly improved students' capacity for creative and critical thinking. Information was gathered from several sources, including lesson plans, assessments, and observation sheets. It was then subjected to a battery of tests in IBM SPSS version 2.0.1 for Windows, including validity, reliability, difficulty level, discrimination power, and hypothesis testing using the MANOVA approach. The findings demonstrated that students' critical thinking abilities may be enhanced by 42.4% inside the flipped learning paradigm, as shown by the R-squared value of 0.423, or 42.3%. Student creativity had an R-squared value of 0.282, or 28.2%, suggesting that students' critical thinking abilities may be enhanced by 28.2% using the flipped learning methodology. This revolutionary learning technique may be utilised to increase the quality of both the learning process and learning results. The flipped learning model has been proved to have a favourable influence on students' critical thinking and creative abilities.

Abstract

This study presents the development of a prototype mobile application named Bali Sari: Strengthening Resilience Based on the Characteristics of Balinese Society. The application is designed as a culturally grounded digital innovation to support communities, particularly Balinese society, in strengthening psychological resilience and preventing mental health problems such as stress, depression, and suicide, which have become serious concerns in Bali in recent years. The Bali Sari mobile application integrates Balinese philosophy, values, and cultural practices into a digital platform that is accessible, practical, and relevant to users’ daily lives. Although the application is rooted in Balinese culture, the values embedded in it are universal and may be accepted by broader communities. For instance, Pranayama breathing techniques promote focus and relaxation, while the concept of menyama braya reflects togetherness, mutual assistance, and social solidarity, which are values shared by many societies worldwide. Therefore, the potential users of this application are not limited to Balinese communities but may also include national and international users interested in culturally based approaches to resilience and mental well-being. The Bali Sari application also has strong commercial potential because its digital and paperless format allows it to be distributed through various online platforms and accessed widely. Its main advantages include providing resilience-strengthening interventions that are more effective for Balinese people because they are adapted to local characteristics, philosophy, values, and culture, while also enabling large-scale mental health promotion. This project focuses on developing and testing the prototype to ensure its feasibility, usability, and effectiveness before wider implementation. Overall, Bali Sari is expected to contribute to the advancement of culturally responsive digital mental health interventions and serve as a model for developing similar applications for other communities.
