Abstract

Introduction: Physical, mental or emotional fatigue experienced by a nurse is a phenomenon that can describe burnout. When nurses start to feel boredom at work, the work environment will become unconducive. If this situation is allowed to drag on, it will cause nurse productivity or performance to decline. The negative impact will be felt by patients and families, colleagues, and management where nurses work. Objective: The study aims to find out burnout’s relationship with the performance of executive nurses at one of the hospitals in Sonder, Minahasa. Method: The study is a quantitave study with correlation analysis, to see if there is a link between variables with the cross-sectional study approach. The sample in this study is the managing nurse of 53 people who were procured using a total sampling. Research instruments using an MBI questionnaire (Maslach Burnout Inventory) and the 2017 formal performance questionnaire was then analysed using a spearmen test. Results: Based on the research results obtained, the value of p = 0.002 (α<0.05) so this shows that there is a relationship between burnout and the performance of implementing nurses, where the correlation coefficient number 0,412, which means that a variable relationship is strong enough with a a positive value and the therefore makes the two variables one way or another. Conclusion: From this research the heavier the burnout, the less the performance of the executive nurse will be.

Abstract

Introduction: The large number of adolescents riding motorcycles coupled with the increasing number of accidents in the world has caused the number of disabilities and even deaths to increase. Head injuries are one of the fatal consequences that often occur due to accidents. Compliance with helmet use was very important when driving because it can reduce the risk of danger due to accidents. Objective: This study aims to determine the factors associated with compliance with helmet use when riding in preventing head injuries in adolescent drivers. Method: The research method used was correlation analysis with cross sectional approach. In a cross-sectional study, the time of measurement and observation of data was carried out once at a time, which was carried out on the independent variables and dependent variable. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Results: Data were analized using Spearman Rank which shows that the ρ-value of the family factors = 0,000 < 0,05, the ρ-value of the economic factors = 0,000 < 0,05, the ρ-value of the individual factors = 0,000 < 0,05, the ρ-value of the socio-cultural factors = 0,000 < 0,05. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was a relationship between family factors, economic factors, individual factors, and socio-cultural factors with complience with helmet use when riding in preventing head injuries in adolescent drivers.

Abstract

Introduction: The application of therapeutic communication in nursing services is crucial as it significantly impacts the patient's recovery process. Ineffective communication can lead to inappropriate treatment or recovery, and treatment planning may not be suitable for patients with mental health issues. Several factors can contribute to nurses having ineffective communication, including high workloads and decreased work motivation. Objective: This study investigates the correlation between nurse workload and their motivation with the implementation of therapeutic communication for patients with mental disorders. Method: A quantitative study using a cross-sectional design with a population of 150 nurses at RSJ Prof. Dr. V. L. Ratumbuysang in Manado and a sample size of n=60. Results were analyzed using chi-square and Fisher's exact test. Results: There is a significant relationship between nurse motivation and the implementation of therapeutic communication for patients with mental disorders, with a p-value of 0.032 < 0.05. However, there is no significant relationship between nurse workload and the implementation of therapeutic communication for patients with mental disorders, with a p-value of 1.000 > 0.05. Conclusion: The variable of motivation affects the implementation of therapeutic communication for patients with mental disorders, whereas the variable of workload does not.

Abstract

Introduction: Post-stroke is a phase experienced by patients after passing the critical phase of a stroke. Dangerous conditions that need to be monitored include the risk of falling because it can cause more dangerous impacts, namely a decline in function and physiological conditions that occur in the elderly phase. Nurses play an important role in providing nursing care to the elderly with post-stroke. Objective: This study aims to describe the application of gerontic nursing care for post-stroke patients at the "Damai" Ranomuut Nursing Home in Manado City. Method: A descriptive study using a case study method, referring to SDKI, SIKI, and SLKI. The subjects were 2 elderly post-stroke patients with the nursing problem of fall risk. Results: After providing nursing care for three consecutive days, the problem is partially resolved, namely a safe environment and being able to move around with assistance, although there is still a risk of falling. Interventions that still need to be continued gradually and have been taught to the caretakers of the orphanage include assisting respondents in carrying out independent activities and moving around without maximum assistance. Conclusion: The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the implementation of nursing care for post-stroke elderly which is still not optimal for 3 days so that more time is needed and the implementation of other alternative collaborative actions/therapies based on evidence-based which must be taught to caregivers in nursing homes so that they can care for patients well.
