Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in determining the surface area of a flat side shape of cubes and blocks with the help of teaching aids. This research method uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. This study describes students' ability to understand mathematical concepts with the help of visual aids. The subjects of this study were 6 class VIII A students at SMP Negeri 30 Tebo District. The instruments used were written tests and interview guidelines. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in the matter of surface area of blocks and cubes with the help of visual aids in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 30 Tebo Regency was generally in the medium category with the average result showing that students obtained a score of 75.5. Subjects S1 and S2 can only achieve one indicator of the three indicators of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts given. Subjects S9 and S11 could only achieve two indicators of the three indicators of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts given. While subjects S31 and S32 were able to achieve all three indicators of ability to understand mathematical concepts from the three indicators of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts given that they were able to restate concepts, classify objects according to certain characteristics and apply concepts algorithmically.

Abstract

The discovery learning learning strategy is one of the determining aspects in chemistry learning. Chemistry learning at the MA Laboratory is still student-centered. Models and strategies must be collaborative. The research results reveal that the use of the discovery learning model can improve students' thinking skills. The use of the discovery learning model in the learning process for students who have higher intelligence and already have previous knowledge achieve success more quickly with a minimum error of 25.1923%. The use of the discovery learning model for students who have lower intelligence and do not have the prerequisite knowledge can only be done for explanations in understanding concepts, by taking notes, providing guidance in doing exercises and can minimize student errors to a maximum of 28.0385%. The discovery learning model can improve students' thinking skills.

Abstract

Humans are individuals who experience changes in adaptation from students to students with different learning systems. Each adaptation experienced by students will differ fromone individual to another. The purpose of this study is to find out the habits of mathematical thinking of students in mathematics education study program from one of the State University in Palembang. Respondents of this study were 50 students of the mathematics education study program at the state university. This study uses quantitative approachs. The design used is survey research. Survey was conducted by using closed questionnaire. The questionnaire consist of 32 statements regarding the habit of mathematical thinking in learning mathematics. The results of this study indicated that students are in the good category as much as 68.43%. For the indicators of flexible thinking and metacognitive thinking, each has a percentage score of 69.90% and 71.36%, all of which are in the good category. Meanwhile, thinking and communicating clearly and precisely has a percentage score of 63.6% in the sufficient category. It is hoped that further research will use the habit of mathematical thinking as a learning strategy to provide innovation in learning mathematics so that it has a positive effect on students to develop and improve the habits of mathematical thinking in learning mathematics

Abstract

The takrir method serves as a means for information entering short-term memory to transfer directly into long-term memory, achieved through repetition (rehearsal or takrir). This research aimed to enhance students' memorization of the al-qur'an in al-qur'an hadith subjects. The research employed a classroom action research approach involving 20 students of XII IPS at Madrasah Aliyah Labor Jambi. It encompassed 3 stages: pre-cycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2. The research findings indicated improved student learning outcomes: Initially, only 5 out of 20 students (25%) completed the task. After implementing the assessment method in cycle I, 15 students (75%) successfully completed it. In cycle II, following further improvements, 19 students (95%) successfully completed it, demonstrating a significant enhancement from the previous state.
