Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi sumberdaya yang dimiliki peternak yaitu sumberdaya ternak dan tanaman pangan dalam mendukung prospek pengembangan integrasi sapi potong dan tanaman pangan di pedesaan. Data yang dikumpulkan terkait dengan karakteristik peternak,  karakteristik kepemilikan ternak dianalisis secara deskriptif. Untuk menganalisis potensi sumberdaya peternak yaitu potensi sumberdaya limbah tanaman pangan dan limbah ternak, dilakukan analisis estimasi produksi dan daya dukung limbah tanaman pangan, dan produksi dan daya dukung limbah ternak sebagai sumber pupuk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total produksi limbah tanaman pangan sebagai sumber pakan sapi potong sebesar 222,54 ton bahan kering, dengan distribusi jerami padi 102,17 ton bahan kering, dan selebihnya adalah jerami jagung. Dengan jumlah produksi limbah tanaman pangan tersebut, memiliki potensi daya dukung sebagai pakan ternak untuk sebanyak 97,61 satuan ternak (ST). Dilain pihak, produksi feses yang dihasilkan dari ternak sapi sebanyak 43 ST, diperoleh estimasi jumlah feses sebesar 141,26 ton, dan jika dilakukan pengolahan feses menjadi pupuk kompos (kandang) dapat dihasilkan pupuk sebanyak 79,10 ton.   Kata kunci : sapi potong, tanaman pangan, sumberdaya peternak, integrasi   ABSTRACT   This study aims to analyze the potential of livestock and crop in supporting the integration of development prospects for beef cattle and crops. Data were collected regarding the characteristics of farmers, and livestock characteristics were analyzed descriptively. To analyze the potential resources of farmers are resource potential crop waste and animal waste, an analysis of the estimated carrying capacity of waste production and food crops, and production and the carrying capacity of livestock waste as a source of fertilizer. The results showed that the total crops residues as feed for beef cattle at 222.54 ton of dry matter and carrying capacity as feed as much as 97.61 livestock unit (LU). On the other hand, the production of feces produced from cattle as much as 43 ST, obtained estimates of the number of 141.26 tons of feces, and when done processing feces into compost can be produced fertilizers as much as 79.10 ton.   Keywords: beef cattle, crops, farmers, integration

Abstract

This research was conducted at Deli Serdang  from March to June 2015. This study aimed to determine the utilization of Gabus Pasir waste fish meal what can increase the profits of farmers in local ducks laying maintenance business. This survey was conducted at Deli Serdang  from March to June 2015. The method used was survey method with consideration of local ducks laying maintenance studies using Gabus Pasir waste fish meal as substitution of fish meal with farm people in the Desa Lama, Hamparan Perak subdistrict Deli Serdang, with the division of business scale. Methods of data collection is by direct observation and interviews to research utilization of Gabus Pasir waste fish meal with the treatments consisting of: commercial fish meal P0 (0% : 10%); P1 (5% : 5%); P2 (10% : 0%), and farmers consisting of 15 farmers. Respondents were categorised into three scales, scale I (100 up to 300 ducks) consists of 13 farmers, scale II (301 up to 501 ducks) consists of 1 farmer and scale III (502 up to 702 ducks) consists of 2 farmers. The results showed that R / C Ratio in research the utilization of Gabus Pasir waste fish meal with treatment P0 (0%: 10%) were 1,19; P1 (5%: 5%) were 1,22; P2 (10%: 0%) were 1,24, while assuming the utilization of 10% Gabus Pasir waste fish meal with crude protein 16% and a  production capacity of 60% is not feasible. The conclusion is that the utilization of 10% of Gabus Pasir waste fish meal with crude protein 18% more feasible than the crude protein 16% to increase the income of farmers. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find out the different of price, supply and demand and marketing eggs in the Langkat district. This study used survey method through accidental sampling with 13 sellers and 40 consumers as respondent. The data were analyzed descriptively and statistically with  linier regression. The result showed that consumers and merchants were sensitive on price changes. The increasing the price of eggs, decreased the number of demand, while the supply increased. The increasing of the income of consumers decreased the amount demand for eggs. Increasing the family members will be raising demand for eggs. Increasing the price of substitution goods such as fish increase demand for eggs. It is conclude that eggs in Langkat district is elastic. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan harga telur, permintaan dan penawaran serta elastisitas pemasaran telur ayam ras di Kabupaten Langkat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey accidental sampling dengan 13 pedagang dan 40 konsumen sebagai responden. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan secara statistic dengan regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumen dan pedagang peka terhadap perubahan harga telur. Semakin tinggi harga telur ayam ras maka jumlah permintaan akan menurun sedangkan jumlah penawarannya akan meningkat. Semakin tinggi pendapatan konsumen maka jumlah permintaan telur akan semakin rendah. Semakin banyak jumlah tanggungan keluarga maka jumlah permintaan telur akan semakin tinggi. Semakin tinggi harga komoditi lain seperti ikan gembung maka jumlah permintaan telur akan semakin tinggi. Kesimpulan adalah pemasaran telur di Kabupaten Langkat bernilai elastis.   Kata Kunci: Penawaran, Permintaan, Elastisitas, Harga, Telur, Harga, Kabupaten Langkat.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Oil palm frond need treatments to increase nutritional. Value for diet this study aims to analyze the digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein diet containing oil palm frond treated by physical, chemical, biological and combination on sheep. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Anymal Biology, Departement of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, from june to august 2013. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications, using 16 local sheep with an average initial body weight of 10 ± 1,16 kg. The treatments consist oil palm frond by physical (P0), biological (P1), chemical (P2) and combination (P3). Variables were measured consist of consumption crude fiber and crude protein, digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein. The results showed that the consumption of crude fiber (g/head/day) in physical and biological (78.94 and 79.98) was significantly higher than chemical and combination (66.93 and 59.92), while consumption of crude protein (g/head/ekor) in biological (59.45) was significantly higher than physical, chemical and combination (39.21, 39.86 and 45.13). Digestibility of crude fiber (%) in combination (68.97) was significantly higher than physical, biological and chemical (50.29, 64.38 and 59.93), while digestibility of crude protein (%) in biological, chemical and combination (79.97, 79.32 and 81.03) was significantly higher than physical (71.31). Conclusion of this research was the oil palm frond  treated by combination of physical, biological and chemical increase digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein in sheep.   Keywords: Oil Palm Frond; Physical; Chemical; Biological; Combination, Consumption and Digestibility.   ABSTRAK Pelepah daun kelapa sawit diperlukan perlakuan untuk meningkatkan kandungan nutrisinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pemanfaatan ransum yang mengandung pelepah daun kelapa sawit dengan perlakuan fisik, biologi, kimiawi dan kombinasinya terhadap kecernaan serat kasar dan protein kasar. Penelitan ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Biologi Ternak, Departemen Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni-Agustus 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan, menggunakan domba lokal jantan sebanyak 16 ekor dengan rataan bobot badan awal 10 ±1,16 kg. Perlakuan yang diuji terdiri atas pelepah daun kelapa sawit dengan perlakuan fisik (P0); biologi (P1); kimia (P2) dan kombinasi (P3). Parameter yang diamati adalah konsumsi serat kasar dan konsumsi protein kasar, kecernaan serat kasar dan kecernaan protein kasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi serat kasar (g/ekor/hari) pada perlakuan fisik dan biologi (78.94 dan 79.98) nyata lebih tinggi dibanding perlakuan kimia dan kombinasi (66.93 dan 59.92), konsumsi protein kasar (g/ekor/hari) pada perlakuan biologi (59,45) nyata lebih tinggi disbanding perlakuan fisik, kimia dan kombinasi (39.21, 39.86 dan 45,13). Kecernaan serat kasar (%) pada perlakuan kombinasi (68.97) nyata lebih tinggi disbanding perlakuan fisik, biologi dan kimia (50.29, 64.38 dan 59.93), kecernaan protein kasar (%)pada perlakuan biologi, kimia dan kombinasi (79.97, 79.32 dan 81.03) nyata lebih tinggi dibanding perlakuan fisik (71.31). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah pemberian ransum yang mengandung pelepah daun kelapa sawit dengan perlakuan kombinasi dari perlakuan fisik, biologi dan kimia meningkatkan kecernaan serat kasar dan kecernaan protein kasar pada domba.   Kata kunci: Pelepah Daun Kelapa Sawit; Fisik; Biologis; Kimia; Kombinasinya, Konsumsi dan Kecernaan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to examine for more accurate formula to estimate body weight based on body size (body length and chest size) on Brahman cross, Aceh and Bali cattle. The experiments was conducted in of PT Lembu  Andalas Langkat (LAL) for Brahman cross, BPTU Indrapuri Aceh for Aceh cattle and PTPN IV Siantar for Bali cattle in June to November 2014. The formula used in this study is the estimation formula weight of Schrool, Smith and Winter, as well as using correlation and multiple regression analysis to test the research data.The results showed that the deviation of body weight for Brahman Cross by using the formula Schrool, Winter, Smith and Regression in consecutive obtained deviation 0.15%, 34.70% 4.00% and 0.023%; Aceh cattle 35.10%,  0.06%, 28.75% and 0.23%; Bali cattle 34.04%, 1.31%, 29.23% and 0.05%. Conclusion estimation of body weight in cattle by using the formula weight estimation closest to Brahman Cross (is to use the regression formula Y = -245.043 + 3,621 X1 + 0.027 X2, in Aceh cattle using the formula Winter and Bali cattle by using the formula regression  Y = -375.159 + 2.712 X1 + 1,63 X2). ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui rumus yang lebih akurat dalam pendugaan bobot badan berdasarkan ukuran tubuh (panjang badan dan lingkar dada) pada sapi Brahman Cross, sapi Aceh dan sapi Bali. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PT Lembu Andalas Langkat (LAL) untuk sapi Brahman cross,  sapi Aceh di BPTU Indrapuri Aceh dan sapi Bali di daerah PTPN IV Siantar pada bulan Juni sampai dengan November 2014. Rumus yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah rumus pendugaan bobot badan Schrool, Smith dan Winter, serta menggunakan analisa korelasi dan regresi berganda dalam pengujian data penelitian. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pendugaan bobot badan untuk sapi Brahman Cross dengan menggunakan rumus Schrool, Winter, Smith dan Regresi secara berturut turut diperoleh penyimpangan sebesar 0.15%, 34.70%, 4.00% dan  0.023%; pada sapi Aceh 35.10%, 0.06%, 28.75% dan 0.23%; dan pada sapi Bali 34.04%, 1.31%, 29.23% dan 0.05%. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to test the reliability or accuracy of various types of tape measure and develop models measuring tape and body weight estimation formula based on the size of the heart girth of Murrah buffalo and Swamp buffalo. This research was conducted in BPTU-HPT Siborong-borong and traditional farm of Deli Serdang district, from April to May 2015. The tape measure used is the measuring tape Agrotech, then use a formula Schoorl and Smith as a comparison, and using a simple base on linier regression.The result showed that the estimation of body weight for Murrah buffalo and Swamp buffalo using measuring tape Agrotech, obtained deviation 23,94% for male and 34,22% for female bufallo. The regression formula for male buffallo is Y = -266,456 + 3,703X and Y = -351,218 + 4,169X for female buffallo with 1,74% (male) and 3,49% (female) deviation. It is concluded that the closest body weight estimation for murrah and Swamp buffallo is with regression formula and each 1cm increasing heart girth can increase 4 kg body weight. Keyword : measuring tape, buffalo cattle, heart girth, body weight ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keandalan atau keakuratan berbagai jenis pita ukur dan mengembangkan model pita ukur dan rumus pendugaan bobot badan berdasarkan ukuran lingkar dada kerbau Murrah dan kerbau Rawa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan diBPTU-HPT Siborong – Borong dan  di Peternakan rakyat yang terdapat di kabupaten Deli Serdang. Dari bulan April sampai Mei 2015. Pita ukur yang adalah pita ukur Agrotech, kemudian menggunakan rumus Schoorl dan Smith sebagai perbandingan, serta menggunakan analisa korelasi sederhana. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pendugaan bobot badan untuk kerbau Sungai dan kerbau Lumpur dengan menggunakan pita ukur Agrotech diperoleh penyimpangan 23,94% untuk ternak jantan dan 34,22% untuk ternak betina. Persamaan  regresi untuk ternak jantan Y = -266,456 + 3,703X dan ternak betina Y = -351,218 + 4,169X dengan nilai penyimpangan regresi 1,74% (jantan) dan 3,49% (betina). Kesimpulan, pendugaan bobot badan yang paling mendekati pada ternak kerbau Murrah dan kerbau Rawa adalah menggunakan rumus regresi dengan rincian setiap pertambahan 1cm lingkar dada kerbau dapat menaikkan berat badan 4 kg.   Kata kunci : pita ukur, ternak kerbau, lingkar dada, bobot badan

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the utilization of  shrimp shellmill  (SSM) with the processing of the rice husk ash filtrate (RHAF), fermentation EM-4 and  Trichoderma viride (TV) in died on the percentage of carcasses, slaughter weight  and abdominal fat of broilers chicken. The design used  completely randomized design with 8 treatments and 3 replications then analyzed by comparison orthogonal contrasts. The treatment consisted of Poa(commercial diet), Pob (0% SSM), P1 (5% TLU RHAF), P2 (5% SSM EM-4), P3 (5% SSM TV), P4 (10% SSMRHAF), P5 (10% SSM EM 4), P6 (10% SSM TV). Variable were  studied consist  of  carcass percentage, slaughter weight and abdominal fat.The results showed the average carcass percentage (%) on treatment Poa: Pob:P1: P2:  P3: P4: P5: P6 were 71,63; 66,37;65;87; 66;41; 66,81; 64,79; 65,11; 65,87, and for slaughter weight (g / head) were 1768.00;1473.11; 1462.22; 1471.67; 1486.89; 1402,33; 1416.44; 1449.78,while for carcass weight (g / head) were 1269.11; 980.2, ;96.33;979.35; 994.58;  909.99;  923.02; 957.56, and the average weight of abdominal fat (g / head) were 42.33; 23.56;  22.56;  22.89;  21.89;  22.44; 22.67;  22.33, respectively.Anova result showed that the level was not significant effect on the percentage of carcass, slaughter weight  and  abdominal  fat of broiler chicken The conclusion  from  this  study  is  the utilization of shrimp  shell  mills by  rice  husk  ash  filtrate,  fermented by EM 4 and Trichoderma viride is able to subtitute commercial fish meal in diet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung limbah udang (TLU) dengan pengolahan filtrat air abu sekam (FAAS), fermentasi EM-4 dan kapang Trichoderma viride (TV) dalam ransum terhadap persentase karkas, bobot potong, bobot karkas dan bobot lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Rancangan yang dipakai adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 8 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan pembanding ortogonal kontras. Perlakuan terdiri dari Poa (Ransum komersil), Pob(0% TLU), P1 (5% TLU FAAS), P2 (5% TLU EM-4), P3 (5% TLU TV), P4( 10% TLU FAAS), P5 (10% TLU EM-4), P6 (10% TLU TV). Parameter yang diteliti adalah persentase karkas, bobot potong, bobot karkas dan bobot lemak abdominal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rataan persentase karkas (%) Poa :71,63, Pob :66,37, P1 :65,87, P2 :66,41, P3 :6681, P4 :64,79, P5 :65,11, P6 :65,87. Rataan bobot potong (g/ekor) Poa :1768,00, Pob :1473,11, P1:1462,22, P2 :1471,67, P3:1486,89, P4:1402,33, P5:1416,44, P6:1449,78. Rataan bobot karkas (g/ekor) Poa:1269,11, Pob:980,2, P1:96,33, P2:979,35, P3:994,58, P4:909,99, P5:923,02, P6:957,56. Rataan bobot lemak abdominal (g/ekor) Poa:42,33, Pob:23,56, P1:22,56, P2:22,89, P3:21,89, P4:22,44, P5:22,67, P6:22,33. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed to estimate value of genetic parameters and components variance of kacang goats. This research was conducted in goat center Sei Putih, Medan. In June - August 2015. The research material consists kacang goat  production records for one generation as much as  20 goats (9 males and 11 female). The variables measured are birth weight, weight of  3, 6, 9 and 12 month. Heritability and genetic correlations were estimated using a nested design unbalanced and breeding value was calculated using the single measurement it self.The results showed that the coefficient variance of birth weight, 3,6, 9 and 12 month  were 33%; 26%; 21%; 26% and 30%, respectively. Heritability of birth weight, weight 3,6 month were 0,05; 0,03; and 0,04,respectively. Genetic correlation value birth weight - weight  at 3; 6; 9 and 12 month (0,55%; 0,34%; 0,28%; 0,25%), weight 3 – weight at 6; 9 and 12 month (0,41%; 0,54%; 0,56%), weight 6 – weight at 9 and 12 month (0,84%; 0,64%) , weight 9 - weight at 12 month (0,83%). The conclusion of the study are coefficient  variance of growth traits categorized high, but heritability is low and genetic correlation is moderate to high category. Materi penelitian terdiri dari catatan produksi kambing Kacang selama satu generasi sebanyak 20 ekor (9 ekor pejantan dan 11 ekor betina).Variabel yang diamati adalah bobot lahir, bobot 3, 6, 9 dan 12 bulan. Heritabilitas dan korelasi genetik diestimasi menggunakan pola tersarang (Nested disegn) model unbalanced dan nilai pemuliaan dihitung menggunakan pengukuran tunggal dirinya sendiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien keragaman dari sifat bobot lahir, 3, 6, 9  dan 12 bulan  berturut – turut-adalah 33%; 26%; 21%; 26% dan 30%. Nilai heritabilitas sifat  bobot lahir,3 dan 6 bulan berturut – turut adalah 0,05; 0,03 dan 0,04. Nilai korelasi genetik bobot lahir – bobot 3,6 dan 12 bulan (0,55%; 0,34%; 0,28%; 0,25%), bobot 3 bulan - 6, 9 dan  12 bulan (0,41%; 0,54%; 0,56%), bobot 6  – 9 dan 12 bulan (0,84%; 0,64%) dan bobot 9 – 12 bulan (0,83%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai koefisien keragaman yang tinggi, nilai heritabilitas termasuk kategori rendah dan nilai korelasi genetik termasuk kategori sedang – tinggi.   Kata kunci : Kambing Kacang, parameter genetik, komponen ragam

Abstract

ABSTRACT High levels of total cholesterol be a limiting factor that causes freely against the consumption of meat and duck eggs by peoples. For it was conducted a study in May-September 2015 to observe the supplementation effect of chitosan from shrimp shell  in the diet on growth and total cholesterol levels in the blood of ducks using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of T0 = basal diet +0% chitosan; T1 = basal diet + 9,05% powders of shrimp shell; T2 = basal diet + 1,5% chitosan derivatives of shrimp shell; T3 = basal diet + 1,5% chitosan by BIOTECH SURINDO. The variables were consist of feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio and total blood cholesterol levels. The results showed that supplementation of shrimp shell’s powder, chitosan from shrimp shell and commercial chitosan in the diet decreased the total of blood cholesterol levels and growth performances in local ducks (P<0.05). The total blood cholesterol (mg/dL) on T1; T2; T3; T4 were 252,4; 224; 153; 183. While average weekly body gain also decreased 6,55%; 22,18%; dan 14,02% than control. It is concluded that suplementation of 1,5% chitosan from shrimp shell show the best result according to the total blood cholesterol and growth performances of duck. Abstract

This research was conducted at Laboratory Animal Biology, Agriculture Faculty, Sumatera UtaraUniversity from March to July 2015. This study aimed to determine the effect of gabus pasir waste fish meal(GPWFM)(Butis amboinensi) in diet of laying duck on fertility, hatchability and embryo mortality of duck egg. The design used in this research was completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications. The treatment consisted of level substitution GPWFM by commercial fish meal at ratio 0:10 (P0); 5:5 (P1); and 10:0 (P2). This research used 134 eggs from 52 ducks and 18 drakes.     The results showed the average offertility percentage on treatment such as: 97,92; 100 and 100,respectively, hatchability (%) such as: 76,63; 79,50and 84,17, respectively and embryo mortality (%) such as:23,37; 20,45 and 15,83, respectively. The results analys showed that the treatmentshad no significantly on fertility, hatchability and embryo mortality (P>0,05), The conclusion of this research that gabus pasir waste fish meal can substitution of commercial fish meal.
