Abstract

The Study of Effect Volcanic Ash Eruption of Sinabung Mountain on the Content of Copper, Lead,and Boron of Soils at Karo District. Have been done at six locations using Soils Survey Method onSeptember 2010 until March 2012. Each of site soil sampling were done by purposive sampling attwo depths (0-5 cm and 0-15 cm) with two replications. The results showed that at 0,5-15 mm ofthickness of volcanic ash containt at very low level Copper, content of Boron were moderate, high,and very high and content of Lead was at admitted level at 0-5 cm and 0-15 cm soil depth at somesites at Karo DistrictKeywords: volcanic ash, copper, lead, and boron

Abstract

Yellow traps is one of mechanical control leaf miner (Liriomyza spp) on shallolt(Allium ascalonicum (L.). This study was conducted in Desa Batukarng located at the altitude of about1,100 meters above sea level.The purpose of this study was to fine out the influence of the use severalforms and altitude of yellow. Trap on Liriomiza spp ( leaf-slitting fly) as the pest on shallot(Allium ascalonicum (L.). This study employed the Non-Factorilal Group Random Design Methodwith 7 treatments and 3 repetitions by using yellow square and cylindrical trap set at the latitude of10,30,50 cm above the ground. The result of this study showed that the average number of pets trappedhad a significant influence on the population of Liriomyza spp ( leaf-slitting fly) at shallot plantingground of square treatment with height of 10 cm. The form and height of trap had a very significantinfluence on percentage of Liriomyza spp attack to the square treatment with the height of 10 cm.Based on the result of the study, it is found out the square trap with the height of 10 cm is moreeffective to control the population of Liriomyza spp.Key words: shallot , leaf- slitting, yellow trap.

Abstract

ROSMENDA GINTING:Mapping of Nitrogen and C-Orgnic status on Pineapple(Ananas comosus L. Merr) plantations owned by people at the village of Panribuan Subdistrict ofDolok Silau Simalungun District superinted by Ir. Razali, MP. And Prof.Ir. Zulkifli Nasution,M. Sc.,Ph.D. This research purpose to make a mapping of Nitrogen and C-Orgnic status onPineapple plantations owned by people at the village of Panribuan Subdistrict of Dolok SilauSimalungun District The research start to do on October 2012 until January 2013. Method of takingsample uses the free method grid survey with detail scale and use correlation method to analysisdata, with interpretating in mapping Nitrogen and C-Organic. Parameter that analysis in laboratoryis Nitrogen and C-Orgnic status. The result of research showing that status Nitrogen devided by 1status such as; medium (35,44 ha), C-Organic devided by 4 status such as ; Low (0,19 ha), Medium(1,01 ha), high (12,89 ha), and highest (21,35 ha).C/N devided by 3 status such as ; Low (1,95 ha),Medium (11,70 ha) and high (21,79 ha). From the analysis data using correlation method, knownthat the no effect on the production are Nitrogen and C-Organic but that effect are C/N.Key words: Mapping, Nitrogen, C-Organic and C/N

Abstract

The study on the total of biomass of grasses and it’s influences on soil moisture was conducted atSilahisabungan Subdistrict Dairi District, from November 2011 until February 2012. The objectiveof this research was to evaluate the effect of grasses to soil mositure. This study used survey methodwith purposive sampling. The result of this research showed that grass vegetation with rathersloping class total biomass 10,6 ton/ha, carbon reserve 5,3 ton/ha, field capacity 63,4 %, permanentwilting point 1,3 %, water content 62,0 % and permeability 7,5 cm/hours. In the undulating slopestotal biomass 7,1 ton/ha, carbon reserve 3,55 ton/ha, field capacity 51,6 %, permanent wiltingpoint 2,4 %, water content 49,2 % and permeability 7,6 cm/hours. In the rather steep slope totalbiomass 15,5 ton/ha, carbon reserve 7,75 ton/ha, field capacity 32,8 %, permanent wilting point 3,8%, water content 29,0 % and permeability 9,6 cm/hourd. In the forest vegetation with rather slopingclass, biomass total 7,54 ton/ha, carbon reserve 3,77 ton/ha, field capacity 150 %, permanent wiltingpoint 23,5 %, water content 126,5 % and permeability 10,3 cm/hours. In the undulating slopes totalbiomass 6,24 ton/ha, carbon reserve 3,12 ton/ha, field capacity 51,5 %, permanent wilting point 7,5%, water content 44 % and permeability 8,2 cm/hours. In the rather steep slope total biomass 8,86ton/ha, carbon reserve 4,43 ton/ha, field capacity 33,3 %, permanent wilting point 4,2 %, watercontent 29,2 % and permeability 11,25 cm/hours.Key words: biomass, soil moisture, toba lake water catchment area

Abstract

Soybean production is influenced by the variety and nutrients available in the soiland plant roots can absorb. This research means to test the response of severalvarieties of soybean (Glycine max L.Merill) for guano fertilizer. Location of theresearch was conducted in the Tanjung Selamat village, Deli Serdang regency,using a randomized block design of two factors they are varieties (Anjasmoro,Burangrang and Argomulyo ) and guano doses (250, 300, 350, 400 and 450kg/ha). The parameters observed were plant height, branch number produtive,number of pods per sample, the number of filled pods per sample,number ofempty pods per sample, weight of dry seed per sample, weight of dry seed perplot, weight of 100. The results showed that varietie significantly influenced toplant height, branch number produtive, number of pods per sample, the number offilled pods per sample,number of empty pods per sample, weight of dry seed persample, weight of dry seed per plot, weight of 100. Varieties and fertilizertreatment interaction effect was not apparent guano on all parameters.Key word : soybean, variety, guano

Abstract

The Response of Cocoa Seedlings Growth (Theobroma cacao L.) for Giving Palm Bunch Ash andUrea Fertilizer in The Media of Nursery. The research was conducted in the field UPT BBI,Tanjung Selamat at an altitude ± 57 meters above sea level since May 2012 until August 2012 usingRandomized Block Design (RBD) factorial with two factors. The first factor is palm bunch( 0, 10, 20, and 30 g/polybag). The second factor is urea fertilizer (0, 3, 6, and 9 g/polybag).The Parameter observed includes plant hight (cm), number leafs (sheet), and fresh weight ofcrown (g.) The result of reseach showed that giving palm bunch ash influential not significantly toall parameters. Urea fertilizer influential significantly on plant height and number of leafs.Interaction between giving palm bunch ash and urea fertilizer influential not significantly to allparameters.Key Words : Palm bunch ash, urea fertilizer, cocoa, nursery

Abstract

The influence of adhesive colored trap on capside pest (Cyrtopeltis tenuis Reut.)(Hemiptera:Miridae) in tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum L.). The is research was to find out theeffectiveness of the adhesive colored trap on capside pest (Cyrtopeltis tenuis Reut.)(Hemiptera:Miridae) in tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum L.) in the field. The purpose of this studyconducted at Kelambir V Helvetia Estate of PTPN II from May to June 2012. The methods used inthis study were Non-Factorial Group Randomized Design (RAK) with 7 treatment, and 3replications: W0 (controlled/ transparent), W1 (green colored traps), W2 (light red colored Trap), W3(white colored traps) W4 (yellow colored traps) W5 (blue colored Traps), W6 (red colored traps). Theresult of this study showed that the highest pest population caught by yellow colored trap was 53.00and the lowest pest population was 33.33 which were caught by light red colored trap. The lowestattact intencity percentage was 28.53% found in the yellow colored trap, and the highest was34.86% found in the blue colored trap.Keywords: Cyrtopeltis tenuis Reut, Colored Trap, Nicotiana tabacum L.

Abstract

Sehat Bahrin Padang : The Growth and Production Response of Some Maize VarietiesThrough by N and P Application. Supervised by Ir. Mbue Kata Bangun, MP andDr. Ir. Lollie Agustina P. Putri, M.Si. The use of Central Composite Rotatable Design (CCRD) wasto determine the response surface produce at maize not yet a lot of checked, for that a research hadbeen conducted in UPT BBI Tanjung Selamat, Regency of Deli Serdang, Province of NorthSumatra at ± 25 m above sea level, in May 2012 - August 2012 using randomized block design oftwo factors, the factors are varieties (Bisma and SHS-4) and NP fertilize (NP dose prescribed ofCCRD). Parameters measured were: plant height, the number of leaf, the number of leaf above cob,flowering age, harvesting age, cob lenght, cob diameter, wight 100 seeds, production of dry seeds.The results showed that the varieties significantly different in maize height, the number of leafs,flowering age, wight 100 seeds and dry seeds production. Fertilize sigificantly affects flowering ageand harvesting age. Interaction factor significantly affects flowering age and the number of leafabove cob.Keyword : maize, N and P fertilizer, varieties

Abstract

Vegetative and Generative Characters of Aluminium Sensitive Rice Varieties. Aluminium (Al)tolerant mechanism in rice has not been fully understood. The objective of this research was tostudy the vegetative and generative characters of Al sensitive rice varieties. Five days old of riceseedlings were growned on minimum culture solution containing 15 ppm of Al for 72 hours andthen transferred to non Al-treated culture solution for 48 hours. The selected seedlings wasmeasured based on RRG value. RRG value was determined based on after Al-stress. This researchwas held at Greenhouse in Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatera Utara, Medan,from May until October 2012, using latin square Design with treatment that was rice varieties:Inpari 3, Inpari 4, Inpari 10, Inpari 12 and Inpari 13. Data analysis showed that varieties with Altreatedwere significantly different the vegetative stage, the flower initation, the time of harvestingand the generative stage time. Varieties were not significantly different the plant height, the numberof tillers, the number of productive tiller, the panicle length, the flag leaf length, the number ofpanicle branches, the number of empty grain per panicle, the grain weight per panicle and the 1000grain weight.Keywords : Varieties, Al Sensitive, Root Re-Growth, Vegetative Characters, Generative Characters
