Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi fenotipe tanaman pisang barangan (Musa acuminata Linn.) yang ada di Kabupaten Deli Serdang Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hilir Kabupaten Deli Serdang mulai bulan Maret sampai dengan Agustus 2017 menggunakan metode survei deskriptif dengan panduan descriptors for banana (International Plant Genetic Resources Institute) dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan kekerabatan terdekat ada pada sampel D1P1S1 dan D1P1S3 dengan nilai jarak terdekat senilai 0,000 dan hubungan kekerabatan terjauh pada sampel D1P3S3 dan D3P3S2 dengan nilai jarak terjauh senilai 5,000.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi beberapa varietas tanaman okra dengan pemberian kompos eceng gondok. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan penelitian Fakultas Pertanian USU  (± 25 m dpl) pada bulan April-Agustus 2017 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama dosis kompos eceng gondok (0, 100 g, 200 g, dan 300 g/polibag) serta faktor kedua varietas tanaman okra (Garibar, Red burgundy, dan Zahira IPB). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, bobot kering tajuk, dan bobot kering akar, jumlah buah per tanaman, panjang buah, diameter buah, bobot buah segar per tanaman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kompos eceng gondok berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot kering akar, jumlah buah dan bobot segar buah per tanaman. Perlakuan varietas berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang, jumlah buah per tanaman, diameter buah, dan bobot segar buah per tanaman. Interaksi pemberian kompos eceng gondok dan beberapa varietas berpengaruh nyata  pada diameter batang.

Abstract

Peningkatan pertumbuhan dan produksi tomat cherry khususnya di dataran rendahdipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan air, kelembaban, serta teknologi budidaya tanaman, sehingga diperlukan sistem hidroponik untuk mewujudkan peningkatan pertumbuhan dan produksi tomat cherry.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsentrasi nutrisi yang tepat pada pertumbuhan dan produksi tomat cherry dengan sistem hidroponik.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Screenhouse Perumahan Royal Sumatera, Medan Tuntungan (± 32 m dpl), pada bulan Maret sampai dengan Agustus 2017.Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan satu faktor perlakuan yaitu konsentrasi nutrisi (1300 ppm, 1750 ppm, dan 2200 ppm).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian konsentrasi nutrisi berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang pada umur 7-8 MST, umur berbunga tanaman, jumlah cabang per tanaman, dan jumlah ruas per tanaman, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah buah per tanaman dan bobot buah per tanaman.

Abstract

Soybeans are a long-cultivated food commodity in Indonesia, which is currently not only positioned as a raw material for the food industry, but also a raw material for non-food industries. This study aims to determine the role of various sources of N on the growth and production of three varieties of soybean in dry land. This research was conducted at community land of Tanjung Anom Village Pancur Batu Subdistrict, Sumatera Utara which is at + 25 meters above sea level, on August to November 2016 using a Factorial Randomized Block Design with 2 factors. The first factor is the source of N consisted without nitrogen, N – Inorganic source (Urea), N – Biological source (Illetrisoy), and N – Organic Source (Biochar rice straw. The second factor is varieties with 3 types of varieties Cikurai, Grobogan, and Dering – 1. The observed variables were plant height, shoot dry weight, number of filed pods, seed dry weight per plant, , seed dry weight per plot and weight of 100 seeds. The result showed that varieties had significant effect on plant height at 2, 3, 5, and 6 week after plant (WAP), weight of 100 seeds and seed weight per plot and N source had significant effect on dry weight of canopy and number of pods. The interaction of varieties and N sources has no significant effect on all observed variables. Keywords: dry land, soybean, source N, varieties

Abstract

This reserach aimed to identify the morphological chracteristics and phylogenetic relationship  of   G. atroviridis and a conservation material in three districts of North Sumatra The research was conducted at Asahan, Batubara and Serdang Berdagai district from Februari to mei 2017 by survey method. G. atroviridis samples founded in three districs were identified and  characterzed based on International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) standard. Sampling technique using accidental sampling. Parameters observed were fruit shape, number of fruit segments, fruit diameters, fruit weight, fruit size, fruit skin thickness, mature fruit colour. The result showed that there were 18 accession of G. atroviridis found in three districts. Morphologycal characteristic of G. atroviridis was  fruit shape (round, flattened, ovoid,). In fruit morphology showed that the 18 accession analyzed were divided into 2 main cluster  on a distance scale of 0,41 with a similarity rate of about 41%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai keragaan tanaman jahe merah yang dibudidayakan dalam kondisi cekaman kekeringan akibat intensitas curah hujan yang kurang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kecamatan Maja Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten pada bulan Januari hingga Desember 2015 dengan kondisi curah hujan pertahun 1922 mm. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun secara faktorial dengan 2 (dua) faktor, yaitu perlakuan pupuk (4 perlakuan) dan perlakuan sistem pertanaman budidaya (2 perlakuan) masing-masing diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Paket teknologi terbaik pada fase vegetatif tanaman jahe umur 4 BST pada kondisi cekaman kekeringan yaitu pada perlakuan P1S2 (perlakuan 150% pupuk kandang pada sistem tanam polibag) untuk parameter tinggi tanaman sebesar 31,29 cm dan diameter batang sebesar 2,09 cm. Perlakuan P1S1 (perlakuan 150% pupuk kandang pada sistem tanam monokultur lahan) menghasilkan bobot rimpang tertinggi (12,33 gram/rumpun) pada umur panen 6,5 BST. Sistem pertanaman polybag pada kondisi cekaman kekeringan menjadikan kondisi tanaman lebih cepat mengalami kekeringan jika dibandingkan dengan sistem pertanaman di lahan.   Kata Kunci : cekaman, jahe merah, kekeringan, keragaan

Abstract

The research aimed to get The Parameter genetic of the generation  crossed F4 Soybean Detam-2  and Grobogan . The research was conducted at experimental field of college of Agriculture USU in March 2017 up to August 2017. The parameters observed were : the days of flowering, the time of harvested, the plant height, the number of primary branches,the number seeds  per plant, the weight of 100 seeds. The result showed that there were nineteen sample of genotype that have the character of time early ripening and high production Soybean plant F4 each row of the best result of crossed.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the influence of brown algae (Sargassum polycystum) enriched by N, P, K fertilizer to the chemical properties of ultisol soil and Alium cepa L. production. This research was conducted in June-October 2017 using non factorial randomized design with 7 treatments and 4 replications ie P0 (Control), P1 (liquid compost (3x aplications) without enriched), P2 (liquid compost (3x aplications + 2 g urea + 5 g SP36 + 0.5 g KCl), P3 (liquid compost (3x aplications + 1 g urea + 2.5 g SP36 + 0.25 g KCl), P4 (liquid compost ( 6x aplications + 2 g urea + 5 g SP36 + 0.5 g KCl), P6 (liquid compost (6x aplications + 1 g urea + 2.5 g SP36 + 0.25 g KCl) The parameters observed were soil pH, N-total, P-available, K-dd, C-organic, dry weight of shoot, and dry weight of bulb.The results showed that brown algae (Sargassum polycystum) enriched by N, P, K fertilizer can  increasing the pH of soil, P-available, K-dd, C-organic, dry weight of bulb and dry weight of shoot. The best dose was P2 (liquid compost (3x aplications + 2 g urea + 5 g SP36 + 0.5 g of KCl) to P-available, dry weight of shoot and dry weight of tuber.

Abstract

Okra has potential to be horticulture development because it has a high economic value. One of alternative to cultivate vegetable crop is using organic fertilizer. The organic fertilizer that can be used in okra cultivation is Bio-slurry of cow. Bio-slurry is organic fertilizer made from cow feces and water. The process of making this bio-slurry fertilizer through anaerobic in closed room. This organic fertilizer is able to neutralize acid soil and increase humus approximately 10-12%. The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of Bio-slurry on growth and yield of okra. This study was conducted at Tuntungan district on May to August 2017. This research used non-factorial randomized block design with five doses of Bio-slurry treatment: 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 ton/ha. The results showed that Bio-slurry treatment not significant effect on stem diameter, shoot dry weight and root shoot ratio. Bio-slurry treatment increase the fruit length.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to test the growth of palm oil varieties seedlings with some concentration of nutrients. This research was conducted at Greenhouse Faculty of Agriculture University of Sumatera Utara, from August to October 2017. The research design used  randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factors. The first factor was varieties consist of 3 varieties namely DxP Avros, DxP Langkat, and DxP Yangambi. The second factor is the concentration consisting of 4 levels  (8 HS, 1 HS, 1,2 HS and 1,4 HS). The observed variables were plant height (6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks after planting), number of leaves, stem diameter, root number and root length. The results showed that varieties significantly different to the plant height, stem diameter, and root length. The different concentration of nutrients had no significantly effect to all observed variables, and there was no interaction between the two treatments. 6 observed variables had high heritability at plant height 6, 10, and 12 weeks after planting, number of leaves 8 weeks after planting, stem diameter, and root length characters.
