Abstract

This study analyzed the spatio-temporal dynamics of Land Surface Temperature (LST) and Air Surface Temperature (AST) in Universitas Indonesia and the surrounding areas of the Faculty of Computer Science and University Library. Satellite imagery from Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS acquired in 2014, 2015, and 2025 was processed to estimate LST values, which were then converted into AST using linear regression models. Data processing and analysis were conducted using Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS Pro. The results showed a consistent increase in both LST and AST over time. LST experienced an increase of 15.82%, rising from 35.4°C in the 2014–2015 period to 41°C in May 2025, with an extreme maximum temperature reaching 50°C. Spatially, areas with dense vegetation and water bodies exhibited lower temperatures, whereas built-up areas displayed higher temperature values. Isotherm maps and kriging interpolation revealed temperature distributions closely related to land cover characteristics. These findings indicate that changes in land cover significantly influence the thermal conditions of the campus environment and provide valuable input for sustainable spatial planning.

Abstract

Abstract

East Telukbetung is one of the sub-districts in Bandar Lampung City with a high vulnerability to tsunamis due to the convergence of the Indo-Australian and Eurasian plates, as well as tectonic activity from Mount Krakatau and the Semangko Fault. These geological factors increase the potential for earthquakes and tsunamis in the region, as evidenced by major events in 1883 and 2018. As part of disaster mitigation efforts, tsunami evacuation routes were mapped using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with a network analysis approach to determine the fastest routes to shelters. The study area is classified into three risk zones: very high (274.93 ha), high (153.54 ha), and safe (696.03 ha). The results identify four main evacuation routes leading to six shelters, most of which are located in mosques and prayer facilities situated in safer zones with higher elevation. Additional shelters in the form of schools were also analyzed but not designated as primary shelters due to structural limitations and functional concerns. The planned evacuation routes take into account topography, road accessibility, and shelter capacity to ensure a fast and safe evacuation process.

Abstract

The increasing trend in school participation at the SLTA level (SMA/SMK/MA) in Wonosobo Regency has led to a rising demand for educational facilities, particularly classrooms. This study aims to analyze facility availability, project student enrollment, and identify additional classroom needs in 2029. A quantitative-descriptive approach was employed. The analysis shows there are 70 SLTA units with varying service capacities. By 2029, student enrollment is projected to reach 36,448, with distribution patterns following the availability of existing facilities. Classroom demand increases in line with student growth. Currently, there is both a shortage and surplus of 82 classrooms, with shortages mainly found in public SLTA. The additional classroom need by 2029 is estimated at 156 units. To promote equitable access, service coverage, and reduce centralization, new public SLTA are recommended in Garung, Kejajar, and Leksono Districts.

Abstract

Land redistribution is implemented to address land tenure inequality that limits farmers’ access to resources and economic opportunities. This study examines household distribution, land use and ownership, and the livelihood conditions of redistribution beneficiaries in Getasan Subdistrict. Using quantitative methods with spatial and descriptive analysis of five livelihood assets, the study finds that redistributed lands are concentrated in Tajuk and Kopeng. Tajuk is dominated by livestock, while Kopeng focuses on agriculture. Most beneficiaries retain ownership and manage their land independently. The program supports sustainable livelihoods, though improved access to training, capital, and local institutions remains essential.

Abstract

Abstract

Changes in vegetation cover due to urbanization in Cirebon City have a significant impact on land surface temperature and the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon. This study analyzes vegetation distribution and surface temperature changes from 2018 to 2025 using Landsat 8 imagery with NDVI, LST mapping, and change detection methods. The results indicate that vegetation loss is associated with rising temperatures and the intensification of UHI, while areas with preserved vegetation exhibit lower temperatures. These findings highlight the importance of preserving and expanding green open spaces as a mitigation strategy against land use change impacts and rising urban temperatures.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze three critical issues in Goa Lowo: the dominant forms of geological instability, the impact of geomorphology on access risk, and the socio-economic resilience following regional access changes. The methods included geomorphological observation, lithological analysis, and in-depth interviews with key informants. The findings showed that Goa Lowo is experiencing continuous structural degradation due to the uncompacted nature of the Limestone bedrock and ongoing active speleogenesis. Tourist accident risk was found to be drastically elevated due to the interaction of natural hazards with managerial failure, evidenced by numerous vital facilities, such as lighting and walkways, being damaged and non-functional, violating geo-tourism safety principles. Socio-economically, the construction of the South Coast Highway (JLS) triggered a significant drop in visitor numbers, revealing the low economic resilience of the community and causing a shift in the primary income source back to the agricultural sector. Furthermore, an anomaly of dislocation of ownership was found: despite high communal participation in gotong royong (mutual assistance), daily maintenance was entirely assigned to paid staff. Immediate revitalization of safety infrastructure and strengthening of community participation in operational management are recommended. Keywords: Karst Geomorphology, Structural Degradation, Geo-tourism Risk, Economic Resilience, Dislocation of Ownership.

Abstract

This study examines the spatial and statistical relationship between population density and the distribution of active cooperatives across 31 sub-districts in Jember Regency, Indonesia. Using secondary data from 2024, the research applies a quantitative approach that integrates spatial mapping with statistical analysis. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test indicates that both population density and the number of active cooperatives are not normally distributed (p < 0.05). Therefore, Spearman Rank correlation analysis is employed, revealing a statistically significant but weak positive relationship (r = 0.391, p = 0.030). Spatial patterns show that urban sub-districts such as Kaliwates and Sumbersari exhibit high concentrations of both population density and cooperative activity. However, several agrarian districts with relatively low population density, including Ambulu and Puger, also demonstrate a high number of active cooperatives. These findings indicate that while population density provides an important market base, the spatial distribution of cooperatives in Jember Regency is also strongly shaped by local economic structures and agrarian production systems rather than demographic factors alone.
