Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to identify and analyze the differences in systematic risk and unsystematic risk in the Automotive Components sub-sector, sub-sector of Textile and Garment, Footwear sub-sector, sub-sector of Cables, and Electronics subsector in Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research is a comparative study using a quantitative approach. Total population in this study are 35 companies included in the Miscellaneous Industry Sector in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Data obtained by collecting secondary data reports daily stock price on January 1, 2012 until December 31, 2012. The analysis  method that is done using analysis of One Way ANOVA test with a significance level of 5%. One Way ANOVA test results showed that there is no difference in systematic risk and unsystematic risk in the Automotive and Components sub-sector, subsector Textile and Garments, Footwear sub sector, subsector Cables and Electronics sub-sector in Indonesia Stock Exchange.   Keywords: Systematic Risk, Unsystematic Risk, Miscellaneous Industry

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to define and analyze the influence of cultural, social, personal, and psychological factor to fast food purchasing decision. This research was conducted to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Walikota Medan consumers. The kind of this research is explanatory that purposes to analyze the relationship between a variable with other variables or how a variable influences others. The data analysis methods used are descriptive and quantitative method and linear multiple regression. The data used are primary and secondary data. The primary was from questionnaire that was given to respondent. The secondary were from books, journals, earliest studies, and information that was from internet. This research used 100 respondents as samples. The results showed that cultural, social, personal, and psychological have a positive and significant influence on fast food purchasing decision of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Walikota Medan consumers. It could be known from the results of simultaneous linear regression test. Based on the significant test partially, that personal and psychological factor influenced positively and significantly on purchasing decision. The cultural factor influenced positively but not significant. The social factor influenced negatively and not significant. The dominant variable that influenced partially to purchasing decision is psychological factor. Keywords: cultural, social, personal, psychological, and purchasing decision.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is aimed to determine and analyze the differences of systematic risk and unsystematic risk in Bank subsector, Finance subsector, Securities Company subsector, Insurance subsector, and Others subsector of the finance sector in Indonesian Stock Exchange. Data collection was performed by collecting secondary data from annual financial reports of finance sector consisting of the daily stock price from January 1 until December 31, 2012. The analyze method that is done using One Way ANOVA Test and then Correlation Test from the subsector which have difference unsystematic risk. The sample of this research is 65 finance companies. The result of One Way ANOVA Test shows that from the α 5%, there is no difference of systematic risk between the Bank subsector, Finance subsector, Securities Company subsector, Insurance subsector, and Others subsector of the finance sector in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The result of One Way ANOVA Test also shows that there is difference of unsystematic risk between the Bank subsector, Finance subsector, Securities Company subsector, Insurance subsector, and Others subsector of the finance sector in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The difference is then seen with Correlation Test and the result shows that the unsystematic risk relation of Finance and Others is positive and not significant, unsystematic risk relation of Insurance and Others is positive and not significant, unsystematic risk relation of Bank and Others is negative and not significant, unsystematic risk relation of Securities Company and Others is negative and not significant.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the effect of product attributes on a blackberry smartphone purchasing decisions on the management students of the Faculty of Economics of University of North Sumatra, Medan. The data used in this study is primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained from questionnaires. Secondary data obtained from the study of the documentation of the literature books, journals, magazines, and internet pages that are relevant to the research. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Management North Sumatra 2007-2012 generation using blackberry smartphone with a population not known and was  obtained a  sample of 97 people. Sampling technique was accidental sampling technique. Method of data analysis used in this study is to model the multiple regression analysis. Hypothesis testing using a significance level of 10%. The results showed that the product attributes which consists of quality, features, design, brand and label has a positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions blackberry smartphone management students of the Faculty of Economics at the University of North Sumatra. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine and analyze of effects of brand extension lifebuoy soap to  lifebuoy shampoo for the decision of cumsumers buying at Faculty of Economic University of North Sumatera. The Sampling technique use a accidental sampling method. The target of population are Faculty at Agriculture University of North Sumatera who had purchased, use students lifebuoy soap and lifebuoy shampoo . The primary data ware collected  by distributing questionnaires to students Agriculture Faculty unversity north sumatera student, Medan, use lifebuoy soap and lifebuoy shampoo and 100 students ware used as the samples. This research use data by questionnaire and documentation. Measured data use Likert scale. The hypothesis testing use simple regression linear analysis. The results of this research in that brand extension lifebouy soap  lifebuoy shampoo influence positively and significant effectly the decision of consumers buying  at Faculty of Agriculture University of North Sumatera. Rated R sequare = 37,7% which mean of the relation of variabel is tight enough. Keyword: Brand Extension and Buying Decision

Abstract

Brand extension is the strategy used Pond’s to obtain greater market segment. Based on the temporary observation conducted randomly to 20 respondents on students Economy USU, 14 of them claimed to use cleaning products facial Pond’s White Beauty and facial moisturizer Pond’s Flawless White so that researchers have an interests in doing research on the effect of brand extension on buying decisions of consumers in the Faculty USU Economics. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the influence of Brand Extension Cleanser to Pond’s White Beauty Face Moisturizer Pond’s Flawless White Against Consumer Buying Decisions in the Faculty of Economics USU. This researchis associative, because the researchers wanted to know how the effect of Brand Extension Cleanser to Pond's White Beauty Face Moisturizer Pond's Flawless White Against Consumer Buying Decisions in the Faculty of Economics USU. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students in the Faculty of Economics USU using facial cleanser Pond's White Beauty and facial moisturizer Pond's Flawless White with sample were 94 respondents. Hypotesis testing using simple regression analysis, the coefficient of determination and test-t. The results obtained showed that the facial cleanser Brand extension Pond's White Beauty to facial moisturizer Pond's Flawless White has positive and significant impact on consumer buying decisions at the Faculty of Economics USU. Determinant coefficient of 0.595 means the ability of brand extension products facial cleansers Pond's White Beauty to facial moisturizer Pond's Flawless White in explaining consumer buying decisions at the Faculty of Economics USU 59.5% while the remaining 40.5% is influenced by factors - other factors that are not included in the model equations.

Abstract

The problem of study was how organizational climate influence performance of marketing employees on PT Telkom Division Telkom Flexi Medan.  The objective of the study was to find out the influence of organization climate on the marketing employee’s performance on the PT Telkom Division Telkom Flexi Medan.  Hypothesis in the study was that organizational climate influenced the marketing employee’s performance on PT Telkom Division Telkom Flexi Medan.  The data used were the primary and secondary ones.  The primary data were collected through disseminate questionnaires.  The secondary data were collected through documentation study of official document issued by marketing of PT Telkom Division Telkom Flexi Medan.  The method of analysis using linear regression tests.  The result of study from using linear regression test indicated that organizational climate influenced the marketing employee’s performance of 26,7%  and 73,3% explained by other factors not included in this research.   Keywords:  Climate of Organization, Employee’s Performance.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the influence of shopping motives and store attributes to the purchasing decision in Hypermart Sun Plaza Medan. The population in this study were all customers Hypermart Sun Plaza Medan who has purchased decisions whose numbers are unknown. Sampling technique using a purposive sampling method. The analysis method used is descriptive analysis method and the multiple regression analysis method. This research is associative research, and data used are primary and secondary data obtained through the study of the measurement documentation and questionnaires using likert scale. The results of this study indicate that simultaneous shopping motives, and store attributes has positive and significant impact on purchase decisions Hypermart Sun Plaza Medan. Partially shopping motives can be seen that the variable is the most dominant variable influencing the purchase decision in Hypermart Sun Plaza Medan. Value Adjusted R Square = 0.266, mean 26,6% purchase decision factors can be explained by the independent variable (shopping motives and store attributes) while the remaining 73,4% is explained by other factors not examined in this study. Abstract

  Abstract This research entitled “The Effect of Operating Expenses on Net Profit of  National Private Bank Listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange Period of Year 2009-2011”. The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the effect of interest expenses, general administration cost, and labor cost on net profit of national private bank listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research method uses descriptive analysis method and statistic analysis method. This research uses secondary data, there were 20 companies. Hypothesis testing is done by using F test and T test, with significance level (α) 5%. The results of the simultaneous hypothesis test indicate that the variable interest expenses, general administration cost, and labor cost influence on net profit. The results of the partial hypothesis test indicate that the variable interest expenses has an influence on net profit but variable general administration cost and labor cost hasn’t influence on net profit.   Keywords: Interest Expenses, General Administration Cost, Labor Cost, and Net Profit
