Abstract

Abstract This study aims to examined personal financial literacy and financial behavior; financial literacy based on the personal characteristics of students, and impact of the financial literacy on financial behavior of undergraduate students of Faculty of Economics, University of Sumatera Utara class rank 2008 through 2011 who still active by June 2011. Financial literacy was measured using 27 multiple-choice questions and a score calculated based on the percentage of the correct answers. Financial literacy and then analyzed based on the characteristics of the respondents consisting of gender, majors, class rank, GPA, and residence (living with parents or living alone / boarding), the level of parental education, and parental income. Financial literacy is also grouped into relatively high and relatively low based on the median to analyze the financial behavior of respondents in each group. The analitical method used is a descriptive statistical analysis. The data used are the primary data obtained from a survey of 97 respondents. The finding indicates that those who are male students, Economic Development major, student of 2008 and 2009, GPA ≥ 3.00, and student who live alone at boarding house,  has a higher financial literacy. Meanwhile, female students, Management majors, lower class rank, GPA <3.00, and live at home with parents have lower financial literacy. Overall mean of correct answer of the survey is about 56.61%, so it can be concluded that the respondents had low levels of financial literacy, in addition, the tendency of respondents practicing expected financial behavior  did not increase as expected consistently along with the increase of financial literacy.   Keywords: Personal Financial Literacy, Financial Behavior, College Student

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The issue  of this research is to know whether the implementation of promotion and demotion’s effect are positive and significant towards the employee’s achievement at the Master Kredit Cabang Medan. The collection of primary data is done through a questioner that propagated to staff employees / fixed employee’s. The sampling method was used saturated sampling / census which the population of this research is 54 staff / employees remain on marketing division and collection division in Master Kredit Cabang Medan. The method used was descriptive quantitative analysis by using multiple linear regression for the hypothesis. The results showed that simultaneously promotion and demotion variable’s affect the employee’s achievement variable in Mater Kredit Cabang Medan positively and significant. By the t test for promotion influential positively and  significantly towards the employee’s achievement at the Master Kredit Cabang Medan. While t test of demotion influential positively and significant towards the employee’s achievement at the Master Kredit Cabang Medan.   Keywords: Promotion, Demotion, Employee’s Achievement.

Abstract

Abstrak This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of service quality Ucok Durian at Iskandar Muda Medan on the purchase decisions. The hypothesis of this study is the factor of service quality that includes variable tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty has positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions towards Warung Ucok Durian at Iskandar Muda Medan. The sampling using the technique of Purposive Sampling. Data analysis methods used is descriptive and multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that based on the F test, the service qualities consisting of tangibles variable, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty simultaneously have a positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions towards Warung Ucok Durian at Iskandar Muda Medan. Based on the results of the t test, variable influence positive and significant on purchasing decisions is the variable of reliability and responsiveness. Adjusted R Square value = 0.152 means that 15.2% of the purchase decision factors can be explained by the independent variables (physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty) while the remaining 84.8% is explained by other factors which is not examined in this study.   Keywords: Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Emphaty and Purchasing Decisions.

Abstract

In any organization, the human is one very important component. How perfect an organization in planning, policy, technology owned by an organization can not run smoothly if not supported by reliable labor. With qualified human resources, organizations are able to manage employees effectively and efficiently and be able to support the achievement of organizational research was conducted at CV Mandiri Supermarket Group Medan. This study uses Work Discipline,and Motivation as independent variables and employee performance as the dependent variable. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of Work-discipline and motivation to work on Employee Performance. The samples used were employees of CV Mandiri Supermarket Group Medan where the number of samples determined in this study as many as 52 respondents. The analysis used include test validity, test reliability, test classic assumptions, test the multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing and the coefficient of determination (R2). Based on the F-test is performed and the results of multiple linear regression analysis above can be seen that the simultaneous work discipline and motivation to work have a positive and significant impact on performance, Based on the results of t tests, proved that partial  Work Disciplne does not affect and no significant effect on performance, while motivation has positive and significant impact on performance. Abstract

The aim of the research was to know and analyze the influence of service quality to the brand image on the polyclinic Haji Hospital Medan. The primary data gathered by distributing questionnaires to the patients in order to make them the samples of the research. The research used descriptive analysis with multiple linear regression method. The population was 5521 outpatients of the hospital in 2011 (January until December 2011) and 83 of them used as the samples using Slovin formula with purposive sampling technique. The result of the research from significant simultaneous test (F-test) showed that simultaneously service quality which consisted of the dimension of variables of tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy had significant influence to the brand image on the polyclinic Haji Hospital Medan. The result of partial test (T-test) showed that partially the variables of assurance, reliability, tangibles and empathy had the most positive and significant influence to the brand image on the polyclinic Haji Hospital Medan.Kata Kunci : bukti fisik, kehandalan, daya tanggap, jaminan, empati, citra merek.Keyword : tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and brand image.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the attitude toward the behavior in PT Bank SUMUT Tarutung Branch. The population in this study were all employees of PT Bank SUMUT Tarutung Branch at front liner section which accounted for 36 employees. The sample in this study using saturated sampling consisting of 36 employees of PT Bank SUMUT Tarutung Branch. The data in this study conducted using primary data and secondary data. The primary data using questionnaires, which prior to the questionnaire distributed first tested the validity and reliability of the 20 employees at PT Bank SUMUT Balige Branch. Secondary data analysis using descriptive and quantitative analysis (simple linear regression analysis). The results showed that the relationship attitude positive and significant impact on the behavior of PT Bank SUMUT Tarutung Branch.Kata kunci: Sikap dan Perilaku Kelompok.Keywords: Attitudes and Behaviour Group.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to know and analyze to what extent the visitors’ sensitive response at Carrefour Plaza Medan Fair to brand extension from ABC soybean sauce to ABC sauce, and to know and analyze the direction of the visitors’ response at Carrefour Plaza Medan Fair on the brand extension from ABC soybean sauce to ABC sauce. This research was descriptive. It used descriptive analytic method and sensitive response method. In analyzing the level of sensitive response to brand extension, the researcher used Hierarchy of effect model which comprised of brand awareness, knowledge, liking, preference, conviction, and purchase. The data used in the research were primary and secondary data. The primary data were obtained by distributing questionnaires in which their measurement was measured by Likert scale. This research used 100 respondents as the samples which were obtained by using accidental sampling technique. The results of the research showed that consumers’ sensitive response to brand extension from ABC soybean sauce to ABC sauce was bigger than one which comprised of sensitive category. The direction of consumers’ response to brand extension from ABC soybean sauce to ABC sauce was positive. It indicated that brand extension from ABC soybean sauce to ABC sauce was able to make consumers (respondents) sensitive and to give positive response to purchase ABC sauce.   Keywords: Brand Extension, Sensitivity Response

Abstract

This research was to emphasize the effect of Prestige, Competition, 7P Mix Marketing towards consumer satisfaction Fountain Ice Cream Café Medan Fair Plaza. The objective of this research is to know the effect of Prestige, Competition and 7P Mix Marketing towards Consumer satisfaction Fountain Ice Cream Café Medan Fair Plaza.The kind of this research is assosiative research. The data that used consist of primer and secondary data. This research used 96 respondents which determined by using accidental sampling.The result of this research by multiple regression test shows that Prestige, Product, Price, and Phicycal Evidence have positive and significant effect towards Consumer Satisfaction Fountain Ice Cream Café Medan Fair Plaza, but the partial test showed that Prestige, Product, Price, and Phicycal Evidence have positive dan significant effect towards Consumer Satisfaction. Competition, Place, and Process have positive and insignificant effect towards Consumer Satisfaction effect towards Consumer Satisfaction while Promotion and People have negative and insignificant effect towards Consumer Satisfaction Fountain Ice Cream Café Medan Fair Plaza.Keywords: Prestise, Competition, Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Phicycal Evidence, Process, and Consumer Satisfaction.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Relationship Between Employee Attitudes  With The Behavior Of Employees In The Group In BKKBN of North Sumatera Province Office The purpose of this study was to determine how the relationship between attitudes to the behavior of employees in the BKKBN Provinsi Sumatera Utara office. The data used in this study is the primary data and secondary data. Primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to the employees of BKKBN Provinsi Sumatera Utara office as many as 86 peoples. The analytical method used is descriptive quantitative correlation by using spearman rank. In the results based on corelation analysis showed that there is a positive relationship between employee attitudes (overall) with the behavior of employees in the group.  Overall  that there is a  relationship between employee attitudes  with the behavior of employees in the group with trust degree at 90 % with the value 0.756. Abstract

Abstract : This research target is to know and analyse the influence Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Environtmental to Customer Satisfaction Graparikios  Komplek Setia Budi Medan. Population in this research is all customers of at office of to 88 employee people. Sample in this research use the aksidental sample method consisted of 88 coustomer of office Graparikios Medan Komplek Setia Budi. This collection of primary through questionnaire, which before the questionnaire distributed first tasted the validity and reliability for questionnaires to 88 customers people Graparikios Medan komplek Setia Budi. Primary data were collected by distributing questionnaires, which prior to the questionnaire distributed first tested the validity and reliability of the 30 people Graparikios subscribers Telkomsel Medan Komplek Setia Budi. The method of analysis used in this research in descriptive analysis method and quantitative analysis that is with the double linear regression analysis. Result of research indicate that the consumer behaviour and marketing environmental have an effect on positively and significant to Customer Satisfaction of at office of coustomer Graparikios Komplek setia Budi Medan.Kata kunci : perilaku konsumen, lingkungan pemasaran dan kepuasan  pelanggan
