Jurnal Bina Desa memuat hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis penelitian seperti Pengembangan Masyarakat (Community Development), Pembelajaran Layanan (Service Learning), PAR (Participatory Action Research), ABCD (Asset Based Community Development), CBR (Community-Based Research), dan metodologi lainnya. Pada dasarnya adalah semua kegiatan yang bertujuan memberikan layanan kepada masyarakat dengan tujuan menangani berbagai masalah di masyarakat guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan memberdayakan masyarakat. Oleh karenanya pendekatan yang digunakan adalah multidisiplin ilmu sesuai konteks bidang garapan. Jurnal Bina Desa juga mempublikasikan hasil program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN).

Abstract

Corncob waste is one of the agricultural wastes that has not been widely utilized in Purbo Village, despite its potential to be processed into an economically valuable alternative energy source, such as briquettes. This community service aims to optimize the utilization of corncob waste through briquette production, with the hope of increasing economic value and fostering creative economy in the village. The methods used include technical training for the local community on the briquette production process, starting from the collection of corncobs, drying, to the carbonization and briquette molding process. The results of this activity show an increase in the skills and knowledge of the community in processing waste into high-value products. In addition, the production of corncob briquettes successfully provided an additional source of income for the people of Purbo Village. Thus, this activity not only reduces agricultural waste but also contributes to the improvement of the economic welfare of the village community.

Abstract

The rise of online gambling and cases of drug abuse have given rise to unrest in society. In recent years, the trend of online gambling use and drug abuse has increased compared to previous years. The loss of inspiration for Pancasila values in national and state life is one of the factors influencing the widespread practice of online gambling and drug abuse. As a reflection of a dignified human being, there is an obligation, especially for students, to be able to dedicate themselves to society. Students, through service activities summarized in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, have a big role in efforts to prevent online gambling and drugs as a concrete form of re-grounding the values of Pancasila. Students through their program of Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN realize that community empowerment is needed. Activities carried out to prevent online gambling and drug practices were held in Kebonagung Village, Bandongan District, Magelang Regency. The method used is in the form of socialization or counseling. This activity is to provide an understanding of the dangers of online gambling and drugs so that we can create a civilized society in accordance with the values of Pancasila.

Abstract

The majority of the residents of Ngombakan Village are traditional alcohol craftsmen. The by-products of this production process result in waste that is harmful to the environment and is produced in significant volumes. The aim of this community service project is to reutilize the waste generated from alcohol production into valuable liquid organic fertilizer. The resulting fertilizer has been proven effective in enhancing the fertility of planting media, leading to faster germination and growth of seeds. The participants of the socialization event were 25 women from Kleco Hamlet. The community service activities included a socialization session on the production of liquid organic fertilizer, combining alcohol industry waste and household waste, and an introduction to its application on cocopeat planting media. This activity received positive responses from the participants, as indicated by their active questioning and willingness to participate in demonstrations. The outcome of this socialization was that the participants gained knowledge on the production of liquid organic fertilizer and its application in planting media in limited space.

Abstract

The training on making natural pesticides from onion and garlic peels in Reban Village aims to educate the community on effectively utilizing household waste. Onion peels, often considered as waste, are processed into environmentally friendly and safe pesticides for agricultural use. This training is also an effort to implement the values of Pancasila, particularly in terms of environmental preservation and mutual cooperation. Through this program, it is expected that the Reban Village community will increase their awareness of the importance of utilizing household waste and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. The results of this training indicate that the community is capable of producing effective natural pesticides while also strengthening a sense of togetherness and care for the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Financial education or financial literacy is a basic skill that everyone should have. Good financial management should be taught to children as early as possible so that they can understand and apply it. The introduction of the basic concepts of saving and making piggy banks is the goal of giat 9 unnes students. The flow of socialization activities includes preparation and planning, preparation of materials, implementation of activities and evaluation at MI Nurul Yaqin Mangunsari village. With this socialization, it is expected that children can apply the concept of saving in their daily lives.

Abstract

Kaliangkrik Village is one of the villages located in Kaliangkrik District, Magelang Regency. The life of its people is still thick with culture and religious beliefs. However, this does not limit the enthusiasm and creativity of its people in developing business ideas and improving their quality of life. One of the economic activities that continues to be developed by its people is MSMEs. There are quite a lot of MSMEs business actors in Kaliangkrik Village, but they are still limited in their marketing activities. MSMEs actors still market through word of mouth, consigning products to shops and opening their own shops. A group of students held a seminar to help improve the knowledge and skills of its people. The seminar was related to community empowerment related to "Development of Soft Skills for Digitalization of MSMEs ". This seminar activity aims to equip MSMEs actors to move up a class to become a business supported by  technological advances, both for management and marketing.

Abstract

The Real Work Lecture (KKN) aims to apply theory in direct practice for the community, including in waste management. This research focuses on training in making brooches from patchwork, convection waste that is often not used. This activity was carried out in Bantengan Village, targeting PKK women who have high creative potential. The training method involves socialization, demonstrations, and direct mentoring to teach techniques for making brooches from patchwork. The training process includes the presentation of material about materials and tools, manufacturing demonstrations, and practice with guidance. The result of this training is various brooch designs that show the creativity of the participants, as well as the use of patchwork waste that can reduce environmental pollution. This activity has  succeeded in improving the skills and creativity of PKK women, opening up new business opportunities, and supporting local economic empowerment, although long-term monitoring of business development is still needed.

Abstract

The natural potential of Karakan Village, Weru District, Sukoharjo Regency is diverse, but it still lacks consideration for environmental sustainability, resulting in low community awareness of environmental issues. Additionally, the underutilization of natural resources has left the community unable to fully harness the available natural potential. To address these challenges, students college from GIAT 9 UNNES conducted an ecoprint training using the pounding method for the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Karakan Village. This training aimed to raise environmental awareness and provide new skills that could enhance the community's economic value. Through the pounding method, training participants were taught to create ecoprint products that are highly aesthetic and environmentally friendly. The training results showed an improvement in the participants' skills and understanding, which is expected to contribute to environmental preservation and increase the economic welfare of the Karakan Village community. This training is also in line with the community empowerment efforts initiated by the local government and is expected to serve as a model for other villages in developing sustainable handicraft industries.

Abstract

 The abundant organic waste in households and the agricultural sector is often not utilized properly, leading to ineffective waste management and negative environmental impacts. The utilization of organic waste into eco enzyme by the KKN GIAT 9 UNNES team in Munggangsari Village aims to address the issue of organic waste management that has not been optimally utilized, especially among farmers and housewives. This program is conducted through socialization and training on producing eco enzyme, an environmentally friendly product made from the fermentation of organic kitchen waste. This activity involves the mothers in Kwayuhan Hamlet and is carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of this program indicate an increase in participants' awareness and skills in processing organic waste into useful products, such as natural fertilizers for agriculture. Thus, this program not only helps reduce waste accumulation but also encourages innovation and creativity in waste management.

Abstract

 Community service “Women Empowerment through Creative Economy Development and Digital Marketing in Sojomerto Village” was carried out by the UNNES Giat 9 Team as part of the Semarang State University MBKM program. This activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of women's groups in Sojomerto Village about creative economy and digital marketing. The methods used include initial observation, socialization, mentoring and training in vegetable bouquet making, and evaluation. The results showed an increase in community awareness about the potential of the creative economy and the use of digital marketing to expand market share. The implementation of activities included making a vegetable bouquet that was exhibited at the Reban Expo, demonstrating the practical application of the knowledge gained. This service contributes to local economic development and women empowerment in Sojomerto Village.
