Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has created new opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their markets through e-commerce. However, many MSMEs in remote areas, such as Mangli Village, face challenges in utilizing this technology due to low digital literacy and limited resources. This article examines the empowerment efforts of MSME actors in Mangli Village through training and mentoring in using e-commerce as a promotional tool. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this activity involved observation, interviews, and direct training for MSME actors. The results indicate that this empowerment successfully enhanced the digital capabilities of MSME actors, expanded market reach, and improved the competitiveness of local products. The use of e-commerce proved effective in helping MSMEs in Mangli Village reach a broader market and increase revenue.

Abstract

The Tridharma of Higher Education is the basis for academics' contribution to national development, one of which is through the KKN program of Semarang State University in Jatijajar Village, Central Java. Jatijajar Village, with its natural potential and high productive age population, is a strategic location to develop a creative economy based on local resources. One of the programs carried out is training in ecoprint making as a community empowerment effort that is expected to improve the village economy. The method applied in this activity is training and hands-on practice of making ecoprints using natural materials as motifs for totebags. This activity consists of four stages, namely planning and experimentation, preparation, implementation and final or color fixation. The technique used in this training is the pounding technique, which transfers the colors and shapes of plants to the fabric by hitting them. This training also emphasizes the importance of education in providing new skills that can have a positive impact on the social and economic welfare of the village in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Creating creative content is an effort to increase awareness or attention toward a tourist destination. This training aims to raise awareness among the community, particularly in the Piyoto area, which is known as a tourist village, about the importance of promotion through social media. The method of implementing this activity consists of three stages: preparation, training implementation, and evaluation. This activity involved local youth organizations and tourism managers as training participants. The results of the training indicate that creative content creation using Canva and CapCut is highly beneficial for participants, as it encourages them, especially the youth, to become more active, innovative, and creative. After the training, the youth became more active in creating and sharing creative content featuring Pereng Puteh tourism through social media. Participants also gained an understanding of the basics of video editing and graphic design, making it easier for them to apply these skills. The goal of this activity is to increase the recognition of the tourist village's potential among the wider community and to boost the number of visitors to Pereng Puteh.

Abstract

Indonesia with its abundant natural resources, has long been known as a haven for various types of food crops. One local commodity that deserves attention is sweet potato. Unfortunately, the utilization of sweet potatoes as a staple food or as raw material for the food industry is still not optimal. A socialization and training program on product processing based on village potential was held on July 31, 2024, in Kotakan Village, Karanganyar, Demak. The program aimed to empower the community, especially the women of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK), by optimizing the local potential of purple sweet potatoes into economically valuable products, namely purple sweet potato bakpia. A total of 20 participants, consisting of PKK women, took part in the training. In this event, participants gained knowledge and skills regarding the production process of purple sweet potato bakpia, from raw material preparation to product packaging techniques. Through this training, it is hoped that the community can develop micro-businesses based on local potential, increase family income, and strengthen the village's economic independence. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm from the participants and the potential for developing purple sweet potato bakpia as a unique culinary icon of the village.

Abstract

The decline in soil quality due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers presents a significant challenge for farmers in Gunungsari Village, Windusari District, Magelang Regency. This situation prompted the implementation of a community service program aimed at introducing the use of compost made from domestic waste as a sustainable solution to improve soil quality and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. The program included training and mentoring in the use of an organic waste shredder (APO Machine) and compost making, utilizing hands-on practice, Q&A sessions, and group discussions. The results indicate improved understanding and skills among the community in managing organic waste, operating the APO machine, and using compost as an alternative to chemical fertilizers. The community's awareness of the importance of organic waste management and compost utilization has also increased, which could potentially support more sustainable farming practices in the future.

Abstract

Hypertension remains a public health problem in Indonesia, affecting both the elderly and those of productive age. Low awareness of the importance of health check-ups and a healthy lifestyle is a key contributing factor. This activity, organized by UNNES Community Service Program GIAT 12 students, was held in Mluweh Village, East Ungaran District, with the aim of increasing community awareness and participation in hypertension prevention efforts through an educational and participatory approach. Three main programs were implemented: a fun walk with students from MTs Mujahidin, blood pressure measurements for the elderly and school-age children, and group exercise with the community. The methods used included field observation, focus group discussions, health education, and two blood pressure measurements as a form of screening. The results of the activity demonstrated high community participation, with the majority of children having normal blood pressure and the elderly having low blood pressure. The program also demonstrated that simple physical interventions such as fun walks and exercise are well-received and have the potential to increase long-term health awareness. This activity provides recommendations for routine screening and the ongoing integration of healthy lifestyle education into community and school activities.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the musical creativity of Kindergarten teachers (IGTKI Semarang Regency) through training in creating songs using Suno AI's auxiliary media. The implementation method includes workshops, practical assistance, and evaluation of work. A total of 45 kindergarten teachers participated in the activity and produced seven children's songs with the theme of environment, affection, cleanliness, love of the homeland, manners, and anti-bullying. The results showed a transformation of the teacher's mindset from just a song user to an original song creator with a higher sense of confidence. The use of AI has been proven to facilitate the creative process while opening up space for music art learning innovation. Service products in the form of songs, teaching modules, mass media publications, and song copyrights are real outputs that can be used sustainably. Thus, this activity not only improves teacher competence, but also enriches the treasure of Indonesian children's songs.
