Focus and Scope Al-Hikmah: Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Pengembangan Masyarakat (e-ISSN: 2685-4376; p-ISSN: 1907-4328) is a journal that publishes research on dakwah science and community development. This journal not only functions as a way to import community development approaches into the realm of Islamic studies but also exports Islamic studies for dakwah in Indonesia. This journal is quite open to the use of various paradigms and methodologies in Islamic and humanitarian studies: theoretical, empirical, qualitative, quantitative, and comparative-historical. Furthermore, the existence of this journal is expected to be able to encourage scholars who focus on Islamic and social-humanities studies to develop and disseminate ideas, thoughts, and study results in more depth related to the landscape of these two scientific disciplines. Al-Hikmah: Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Pengembangan Masyarakat is published by the Faculty of Dakwah of State Islamic University of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember. This journal is published twice a year, in April and October. The journal prioritizes writing about scientific issues as well as social, religious, and humanitarian phenomena faced by Indonesian society which are studied through monodisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary approaches. Published articles can use Indonesian, Arabic, and English. To maintain the quality of published writing, the editorial board strictly selects articles using a plagiarism check process and involving reviewers who have expertise in this field.

Abstract

Students are vulnerable to experiencing anxiety disorders, given the complexity of their developmental tasks as adult individuals. Personal desires and the demands of the social environment often lead to anxiety and even depression. If this condition persists throughout their lifetime, it can be harmful to students. Therefore, psychological intervention through SEFT (Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique) therapy is necessary to help alleviate the anxiety experienced by students. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of SEFT (Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique) in reducing anxiety in students of the Islamic Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Dakwah, UIN KH. Achmad Siddiq Jember. The research method employs a quasi-experimental design with a non-random one group pre and post-test. The sample for this study consists of 30 students from the Islamic Psychology Study Program, class of 2018 to 2020, both male and female, who experience anxiety. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) and statistical analysis was performed using the paired sample t-test. The data analysis revealed a coefficient value of t = 9.625 at p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in anxiety levels before and after SEFT therapy. Therefore, it can be concluded that SEFT has been proven effective in reducing anxiety levels in students.

Abstract

Islam is a religion full of mercy not only for its adherents but also for the entire universe (Ar-Rahmatan Lil 'Alamien). The digital era and globalization demand its followers to constantly adapt in order not to be left behind amidst the tremendous development of information and technology. Hence, there is a need for proper filtering and management in understanding the noble mission of da'wah. The aim of this research is to explore 1) management issues, 2) issues in management and their relationship with the reputation of da'is/organizations/companies, and 3) the steps for controlling and managing these issues. In this study, the research method employed is library research involving the utilization of library resources and literature to gather relevant data on the research topic. Researchers used library catalogs and online databases to search for and select high-quality sources. The findings of this research indicate that among the main management issues for implementing classical to modern da'wah strategies and the use of Information Technology include: issue management, steps for controlling and managing issues, the function of issue management (intelligent planning and operations, strong defense and smart attacks, exploring foundations). Additionally, the issue management process model by Chase & Jones comprises five models: issue identification, issue analysis, choice of change strategy for the issue, Action Programming against the Issue, and evaluation of outcomes.

Abstract

Bullying is one of the prevalent social phenomena often perpetrated by individuals in our surroundings. This behavior can range from physical violence to psychological abuse. Bullying can occur in various environments, including the workplace, often referred to as workplace bullying. Victims of bullying can experience various issues, such as becoming more introverted, having reduced social interactions, and experiencing decreased self-confidence. Workplace bullying is a recurring act of hostility, aggression, both verbal and non-verbal violence, carried out with the intent to torment, thwart, provoke, intimidate, causing discomfort to the recipient. This consideration is the basis for providing psychoeducation related to workplace bullying. The psychoeducational program aims to enhance the awareness of Al Kholafiyah students regarding the impact and how to respond when cases of workplace bullying occur. The community service is conducted using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The activity proceeds smoothly by presenting real cases and delivering materials on the impact of workplace bullying. Participants gain an understanding of the dangers and consequences of workplace bullying.

Abstract

This article discusses the dangers of gadgets on the focus of teenagers' minds, a thematic and analytical study on QS al-Baqoroh ayait 171. Remembering that the intellect that Allah swt. Granted to humans, this is one of the forms of human perfection compared to animals. The intellect that Allah gave to humans is what we use to think when doing everything. With reason and rational thinking, we can gain various kinds of new knowledge. So, there are various kinds of innovations and new creations from scientists that are useful in helping humans with daily activities. One form of the development and progress of science and technology (IPTEK) is gadgets. This object is a form of the development of science and technology, with a function to facilitate all kinds of human work in this digital era. However, these objects also have a negative impact and cause users to be addicted. A very visible impact of using gadgets is the loss of focus in every human being. The loss of focus can occur due to the disruption of the use of the sense of hearing; this sense is not functioning properly. This research discusses the impact of gadgets on the focus of teenagers' minds. Thematically, this research discusses the events that occur in teenage children caused by gadget addiction and then examines them with thematic analytical methods based on the perspective of Tafsir on QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 171. To find out the content contained in the verse, researchers conducted research using literature studies. Through related literature and using one of the works of Fakhr al-Di? al-R?z?, The author quotes Piet  Hizbullah  Khaidir in explaining the focus of the mind that is lost due to reluctance to hear. This study found that hearing loss occurs due to reluctance to hear, which is the cause of loss of concentration and is one of the consequences of gadget addiction.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of moderate Islam along with the development of radicalism in a number of regions, using a literary approach. The author realizes that terrorism, radicalism, and liberalism are the main topics in this research. Considering that the world is currently known for the problems of radicalism, extremism, and fundamentalism. As an initial illustration based on the topic of news in many media, the issue of radicalism has become a public opinion, especially in the mass media and electronic media. In fact, this act of crime or violence is a phenomenon that we often hear both in the media and in our environmental and social reality. So far, terrorism has been defined as acts of terror, violence, extremism, and intimidation, which often have negative effects on victims. The study "Radicalism, Liberalism, and Terrorism Impacting Islam" explores global events and issues of extremism, fundamentalism, and religious extremism. Several academic questions are presented as the boundaries of the study, including what exactly is the definition of moderate Islam and radicalism, what is the concept of moderate Islam for harmonization? And why is moderate Islam important along with the development of radicalism? Using the literature approach in this article can provide an in-depth description of the condition of human groups, situations, ideological systems, or phenomena today. It can also provide a systematic, honest, and accurate explanation of the events, characteristics, and relationships between the phenomena studied.

Abstract

This article discusses the failure of sustainable waste management. Given that the problem of waste has always been an actual issue in human life that coexists with the environment. The source of waste problems generally arises because of the paradigm of human awareness in waste management. One of them is what happened to the people of Dusun Karang who manage waste by disposing of it. PMI UIN KHAS Jember students who found this pattern then as facilitators carried out community empowerment in improving environmental functions through the implementation of the waste tube program. Unfortunately, this program ended after the facilitators terminated with the community. This article will take a closer look at how the empowerment process was implemented and why the community chose not to continue the program after the facilitators left, even though the waste problem is an urgent matter to be addressed in a sustainable manner. This research aims to find out how the process of community empowerment in the procurement of a sustainable waste management program and evaluate the weaknesses of the program through a community empowerment perspective. The research method used is a qualitative case study approach through interview, observation, and FGD data search techniques. The resource persons were purposively selected and interviewed regarding the program and the reality that occurred in the community related to the program. The results showed that the facilitators had carried out community empowerment well according to 4 stages, namely problem analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation and the factors of the community not continuing the program were due to the absence of local heroes, lack of involvement of universities, and little time. Further research can further explore effective solutions to the problems that occur.

Abstract

Taaruf as a "religious" way of introduction is often associated with the most "syar'i" pre-wedding process. Perhaps this is true, but this depiction was apparently used by the accounts @komuniastaarufku, @taaruf_id, and @belajartaaruf to gain commercial interests. This research will look at the extent to which Islamic ideas in taaruf accounts emerge in the context of reification. After that, the reification of these ideas became a form of religious capitalization. By using netnographic data mining methods, this research can answer these objectives comprehensively. Based on the research that has been carried out, the idea of ??taaruf appears to be expressed in a reification of marriage. Taaruf is only used as an intermediary for the concept of marriage, which is always presented in the biological realm, so it reduces the essence of marriage itself. Apart from that, taaruf accounts also cover these offers with the hashtags hijrah, sunnah, halal, etc., as part of "good design" to make them look more Islamic. Such forms of reification are, of course, aimed at the capitalization process so that the taaruf process in these accounts is closely related to the capitalization of religion.

Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of communication barriers of pandhalungan students in the Ossing pesantren environment. Cultural differences are faced by many students, especially when they first study at Pesantren, causing challenges, especially in terms of communication that must be done every day. Since this phenomenon often occurs in Osing boarding schools, where many students come from outside the region, it is crucial to research to reduce the impact of these cultural differences. This study focuses on identifying the communication barriers faced by out-of-area students in Osing boarding schools. The research method used was a qualitative approach conducted by conducting a field study. Information retrieval was done through purposive techniques in selecting informants and using observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews in data collection. The collected data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, and data validity was ensured through the triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that the communication barriers faced by migrant santri in Osing boarding schools include language problems, differences in clothing, food variations, and understanding of time. However, migrant santri tend to adapt more quickly in Osing boarding schools because of the cultural similarities in the environment.

Abstract

This study discusses the struggle to reach the digital generation as a target of da'wah in the Social Media Era, focusing on analyzing Hanan Attaki's Podcast media as a media for da'wah. Given that the development of technology today leads humans to practice their lives online, including religious practices, especially da'wah activism, new methods are needed so that da'wah can run optimally. This article specifically aims to analyze the role of Podcast media in delivering da'wah messages to the digital generation. This article will explain the influence that can be gained by using podcasts as a da'wah media, their advantages and disadvantages, and their effectiveness in delivering the da'wah message itself. A qualitative approach with literature study and content analysis methods is used to analyze and explore in depth how podcasts, as a medium, can be used to reach an increasingly digitally connected audience. The research findings show that Podcastscan is an effective digital da'wah media because it can help audiences listen to da'wah more easily and flexibly. The practical implication of this research is the importance of utilizing media as an effective means of delivering da'wah in an effort to reach the digital generation.

Abstract

This study explores the actualization of religious moderation within the multicultural community of Kutai Kartanegara. Efforts to promote principles of religious moderation remain a focus, particularly among the multicultural population of Kerta Buana Village in Tenggarong Seberang District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. This study identifies strategies for implementing religious moderation in multicultural communities, offering an adaptable model for other regions across Indonesia. This research utilizes a case study approach, with data sourced from interviews and field findings. The study aims to develop a conceptual framework for villages seeking to actualize religious moderation, specifically within multicultural settings. A multicultural society is one characterized by diversity across ethnicities, cultures, languages, and religions. Such diversity requires proactive measures in village governance and community engagement to foster harmony, peace, and tolerance, while preventing the formation of divisive, intolerant groups within or among multicultural communities.
