Chinese is one of the difficult languages to learn, especially for foreign speakers. Therefore, research was conducted to find an easy and effective way to learn Chinese speaking. This study focuses on elementary level students at Sebelas Maret University, examining how effective strategies, specifically the use of picture media, can improve their Chinese speaking skills. The research method analyzes the effectiveness of visual media in increasing students learning motivation and understanding of the content. By collecting qualitative and quantitative data from learning sessions conducted with and without visual media, significant differences in students learning performance were found between the two methods. The study's theoretical contributions include advancing the understanding of visual media's role in language acquisition and providing a framework for integrating visual aids into language teaching. It confirms that visual media can significantly enhance students participation, understanding, and memorization of learning content. Additionally, the speaking skills of students who used the visual media learning method improved markedly compared to those who did not. This demonstrates that visual media is a beneficial strategy for Chinese language learning at the elementary level, offering practical insights for teachers to enhance the efficiency of the learning process and improve student outcomes.

Listening is crucial in language learning, especially when learning Chinese. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are the four essential skills in language learning, and language learning typically begins with listening. Short videos, as an auxiliary teaching tool, leverage the advantages of audiovisual learning and show clear effectiveness. To achieve the research objectives, I used experimental and testing methods. The study focused on students aged 4-6, starting with a pre-test. Subsequently, while explaining new vocabulary, students were provided with 15 minutes of relevant videos. Finally, a post-test was conducted. The results show that using videos as auxiliary teaching tools in kindergarten Chinese courses is highly effective, with students' progress in learning Chinese improving by an average of 75%. Using short videos as a teaching method can effectively enhance students' interest and motivation in learning.

The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is an important benchmark for assessing one's proficiency in Chinese among Chinese learners. As the exam levels increase, so does the number of vocabulary words required to be mastered. Learners are inevitably influenced to some extent by their own understanding of vocabulary when engaging in HSK reading comprehension. The author suggests that guessing strategies can help students mitigate this influence, providing an additional approach for dealing with unfamiliar words during comprehension. This study focuses on the 2019 graduates of the Hope Language Institute, using a combination of questionnaire surveys, tests, and interviews to collect data, followed by analysis using inductive methods. The aim of this research is to assist students in their reading comprehension while also raising awareness of the importance of employing and researching guessing strategies in reading. According to the survey results, the two most commonly used strategies by the 2019 graduates during reading are skimming and guessing strategies. Among the guessing strategies commonly used are morpheme-based guessing, context-based guessing, and character-based guessing. Additionally, common problems encountered by students in the guessing process include low recognition of semantic radicals, confusion over polysemous morphemes, and insufficient vocabulary.

This study focuses on exploring the impact of happiness on the learning of Chinese as a second language. The study focuses specifically on students from six universities in Indonesia, providing a targeted sample of learners within a specific context. By examining this particular group of students, the study aims to gain insights into the impact of happiness on Chinese language outcomes among Indonesian learners. In this study include an exploration of the Affective Filter Hypothesis proposed by Stephen Krashen the Affective Filter Hypothesis suggests that learners’ emotional states can act as a filter that ether facilitates or hinder language acquisition. The main research question revolves around whether students’ happiness influences their ability to learn Chinese as a language. The research methodology includes a combination of surveys quantitative and qualitative interviews to gather data. Indonesian students who are studying Chinese as their second language were involved in the study. Surveys were used to assess their perceived progress in learning Chinese and their overall satisfaction levels. Additionally, some participants underwent interviews to delve deeper into their experiences and language learning journey. The findings indicate a correlation between happiness and Chinese language acquisition with levels of happiness associated with increased motivation, reduced anxiety and improved language proficiency. The qualitative analysis revealed that contented students exhibited self-confidence, an attitude towards learning and a willingness to engage with the Chinese language. This study contributes to the broader field of second language acquisition by highlighting the significance of addressing well-being in language learning environments and support the relevance of the Affective Filter Hypothesis. According to the study findings enhancing happiness levels and creating a learning environment will facilitate effective Chinese language acquisition, among Indonesian students. This study calls for further research to explore additional emotional factors and their impact on language acquisition in diverse learner populations.

The ability to remember vocabulary is essential for learning a foreign language, especially Chinese. If we can master and retain the vocabulary we study, it becomes easier to acquire listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. To enhance vocabulary retention, suitable learning methods are required, one of which is the use of Flash Cards as a learning medium. The author conducted a quantitative study with students from Class A and Class B in the second grade of St. John High School. Data was collected using pre-test and post-test methods, along with interviews. After each lesson, the author presented the students with Flash Card images for each vocabulary item. The results of this study indicate that Flash Card media helps improve students' vocabulary retention. According to test results, students achieved an average vocabulary retention rate of 95.49%. The use of Flash Card media as a teaching method allows students to remember vocabulary more effectively.

The country of China is the birthplace of the leading philosophers, one of whom is Kong Zi, better known as Confucius. By his wisdom, he was entrusted as Minister of Public Works, Commissioner of Police, and Minister of Justice by the king during the Zhou Dynasty when he was 35 to 60. This research aims to explain Kong Zi's philosophy of life as profoundly as possible using data collection that has been studied. The analysis is written using a qualitative method of data collection. After Kong Zi did not serve in government, he wrote a lot and published books about poetry and poetry. This great philosopher also often takes time to share knowledge with his disciples. Kong Zi teaches his pupils first to understand life and relations with fellow human beings. The Confucian view of life emphasizes life in the world by not involving mystical things, and advancing critical thinking makes Confucius look more modern. The popularity of the philosophy of life by the Confucian to this day is still widely used by many people.

The need for motivation in learning activities is crucial and can be referred to as learning motivation. The presence of learning motivation in learning activities can make individuals more enthusiastic about learning something, whereas a lack of learning motivation makes the learning process difficult. Learning motivation can be classified into internal motivation and external motivation. Furthermore, learning motivation is influenced by various factors, including both internal and external motivations. The purpose of this study is to understand the motivation of third-year high school students at the Gaoya Cultural Academy to learn Chinese and to identify the factors influencing their motivation to learn Chinese. The research method used is descriptive qualitative methodology. Data collection techniques include literature review, questionnaire surveys, and interviews. The research findings indicate that the internal motivation of third-year high school students at the Gaoya Cultural Academy to learn Chinese is stronger than external motivation, although some students have less interest in learning Chinese. It can be observed that the most significant factor influencing the motivation of third-year high school students at the Gaoya Cultural Academy to learn Chinese is school-related factors (teachers), which are one of the external factors. Therefore, this study is expected to provide reference for enhancing students' motivation to learn Chinese.
