Abstract

Background. Anemia, a condition in which the hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is lower than the normal value, disrupts the oxygen distribution process to all body tissues, disrupts sleep patterns, and has an impact on monoamine metabolism due to insufficient oxygen concentration in the blood. It is also a public issue that affects a country's health indicators. Method. The chi square test was employed for both univariate and bivariate data analysis in this cross-sectional, quantitative observational study with a sample size of 76 participants. Result. The study found a strong correlation between anemia and sleep habits in adolescent girls (p=0.046; α=0.05; CI=95%). Analysis. Disruption of monoamine metabolic activity in the brain which plays a role in sleep physiology and the occurrence of sleep disorders in someone with iron deficiency. Conclution. Adolescent girls who are anemic have shorter sleep durations (<8 hours).

Abstract

Background:  Psychological distress is associated with the third trimester of pregnancy, where there is an increase in the level of psychological distress facing the birth period and prenatal yoga is one stress release that can be used. The aim of the research to analyze the differences of levels of psychological distress in third trimester pregnant women who participated in prenatal yoga and who did not participate in prenatal yoga. Method: used an observational study design with a cross sectional approach. The research instrument use questionnaire that is distributed directly using paper. Research data was analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test. Results:Analysis of the Independent Sample T-Test test states that there is a difference  with the (p value) = 0.011. Conclusion: is a difference in the level of psychological distress in third trimester pregnant women who take part in prenatal yoga and those who do not take part in prenatal yoga

Abstract

Background: Toddlers are children aged 12 months to 59 months, where this period is a very crucial period for their growth and development, so it is called the golden period.  Objective : To determine the effect of counseling on the provision of a balanced nutrition menu to mothers who have under-five children aged 2-5 years. Methods: This study uses quantitative analytical methods.  Result: There is an effect There is an effect of counseling giving a balanced nutrition menu to mothers who have under-fives aged 2-5 years on changes in nutritional status based on weight/height and changes in mother's level of knowledge obtained p-value (p < 0.005). Conclusion: This study found the effect of counseling on the provision of a balanced nutrition menu on changes in nutritional status and mother's level of knowledge

Abstract

In Indonesia, diarrhea is the second leading cause of death in children under 5 years old. The prevalence of diarrhea in 2018 was 37.88% or around 1.516.438 cases in toddlers. Then, it increased in 2019 to 40% or around 1.591.944 cases in toddlers. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of diarrhea in children aged 0-60 months at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital in July-August 2023. This research method used descriptive analytical approach with a case control design. Data analysis was performed with Chi-Square and Fisher's Exact tests. The results o showed that there were seven variables that were related to the incidence of diarrhea (p<0,05) namely nutritional status, duration of exclusive breastfeeding, mother’s knowledge , measles vaccination status, ownership of latrines, mother’s education, and mother’s occupation.

Abstract

Background : Adolescence is a critical period in human development involving complex biological, psychological, and social changes. Method : The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre-post-test control group design. Conducted from August 2023 to March 2024, the study involved 86 respondents, divided into 43 intervention group participants and 43 control group participants. Result : The results showed a significant increase in sexual knowledge scores in the intervention group, from 65.12 to 80.41, while there was no substantial change in the control group. Conclution : The study concludes that the flipbook effectively enhances adolescents' sexual knowledge, as evidenced by a p-value < 0.05.

Abstract

Background : Giving birth naturally is every pregnant mother hope, some cases required minimal medical intervention. Method : Pre-experimental research design with 2 treatment groups. The population all 1st stage labor mothers in Panggungrejo Health Center is 30 people. Result : The length of 1st stage labor oblique position without peanut ball was almost all respondents, namely 12 (80%) in the normal category. Analysis : There is difference the length labor in the 1st stage labor in side position with and without the use of peanut balls in Panggungrejo Health Center, Blitar Regency.  Conclution : Using peanut ball by adjusting the mother's position during labor can reduce pain, strengthen uterine contractions and allow normal fetal descent to speed up the length of the first stage of labor.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological condition that can be followed by pathological processes that threaten the condition of the mother and fetus.  The aim is to analyze the level of knowledge of pregnant women regarding early detection of preeclampsia. The research method used was observational analysis with a cross sectional approach collected at a certain time simultaneously. The research population was all 33 pregnant women. The sample size is known by looking at the sample size which has been calculated using the Slovin formula and knowing the minimum number required, namely 40 respondents. The results of the study stated that there was an influence between pregnant women's knowledge about preeclampsia and prevention of preeclampsia. This is proven by the results of the analysis of p value = 0.000 (p value < 0.05) indicating that there is a significant influence between knowledge of pregnant women and prevention of preeclampsia.

Abstract

Teenagers are in a transition period from asexual to sexual, One of the functions of the family is to control teenage behaviour.This research used qualitative study. The informants in this research were four Sumba students aged 19-24 who lived separately from their parents. The results obtained were that 3 of the informants had held hands, hugged, and kissed but had never had sexual intercourse or consumed alcohol. In contrast, one informant had sexual intercourse under the influence of alcohol and without using a condom; the four informants said their parents never controlled their sexual behaviour. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that two teenagers were dating in a crowded place and never engaged in risky sexual activities because they were afraid of their parents. In contrast, teenagers who had engaged in risky sexual activities and had sex said their parents would not know about their behaviour.

Abstract

The stunting condition in Indonesia in 2023 is 21.5%, West Java 21.7%, Karawang 17.1%, Bayur Lor Health Center 1.3%, Bayur Kidul Village 2.2%. This research aims to determine the difference in pregnant women's knowledge about stunting before and after being given counseling using Smart Poster media by posyandu cadres assisted by the 1000 Days Fund Foundation in Bayur Kidul Village, Cilamaya Karawang for the period May 2024. The research method is Pre-Experiment Designs. The design is One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. The sampling technique was total sampling with a total of 38 pregnant women. The instrument uses a questionnaire. Dependent variable: pregnant women's knowledge about stunting before and after being given counseling. Independent variables: age, education, occupation, gravida and family income.

Abstract

Kegel exercises are exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, help prevent urinary incontinence problems, stretching the perineal tissue. The aim was to determine the effectiveness of Kegel exercises in healing perineal wounds in postpartum mothers at the Driyorejo Gresik Community Health Center. Methods used Pre-Experimental with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Samples were 30 postpartum with perineal wound healing in the Driyorejo Gresik Health Center working area in March 2024. Respondents underwent a pre-test on day 1 and a post-test on 7 days postpartum. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets using the REEDA score. Data analysis used Chi-Square test. The results showed that the mean of REEDA score pretest was 11.54 and posttest was 4.32.  The result showed that there was a difference in REEDA scores before and after Kegel exercises (p=0.016). There was a difference in the perineal wound healing before and after Kegel exercises were given (p=0.007).
