Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to adopt online learning system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching and learning process. Gajayana University Malang as one of the private universities in Indonesia has implemented Learning Management System (LMS) as a means of supporting online learning. However, to ensure that the system runs optimally and is well integrated within the institution, a comprehensive information system design is required. This research aims to design an online learning information system using the Zachman framework that is able to describe the system from various stakeholder perspectives, such as planners, owners, designers, and implementers. The research method used is case study, with data collection through observation, interview, and documentation on LMS of Gajayana University Malang. The result of this research is an online learning information system blueprint structured based on six perspectives and six focuses in Zachman Framework. This blueprint is expected to be a reference in developing and evaluating online learning systems that are more effective, efficient, and aligned with institutional needs.

Abstract

Static testing has become a critical approach in ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of software systems. Recent developments include the application of machine learning, abstract interpretation, and query-based approaches to improve the effectiveness of analysis. Objectives and methods: This systematic review aims to consolidate and analyse findings from five recent studies (2024-2025) on static testing methods across various domains, including source code analysis, vulnerability detection, Android malware detection, business process modelling, and data leakage prevention in machine learning. The methods used were thematic and comparative analysis of the contributions, methodologies, and limitations of each study. Main results: The synthesis shows that static testing approaches are increasingly integrating dynamic techniques, machine learning, and formal analysis to address the complexity of modern systems. However, challenges such as limited coverage, the need for industry validation, and computational complexity remain obstacles. Conclusions and implications: Static testing continues to evolve with hybrid and data-driven approaches. Further research is needed that focuses on expanding coverage, integrating industrial pipelines, and improving accessibility for practitioners.

Abstract

The formation of self-image in the digital environment refers to the process by which individuals manage their appearance, self-perceptions, and social interactions through social media in order to obtain social recognition. This study aims to examine the influence of social media use intensity and interpersonal communication style on self-image formation among adolescents and young adults in the digital space. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method involving 144 respondents aged between 13-30 years old who actively use social media platforms. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that both the intensity of social media use and interpersonal communication style have a positive and significant effect on self-image formation, both partially and simultaneously. These results suggest that active engagement in social media, supported by effective interpersonal communication styles, plays a crucial role in shaping individuals’ self-image in digital environments.

Abstract

This case study research evaluated a series of training web-conferencing initiatives designed to address the academic challenges and geographic isolation faced by Saudi Arabian linguistics graduate students spread across multiple countries (Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Saudi Arabia). Organized by the Saudi Linguistics Society (SAL)—a volunteer-initiated and managed student organization—the program aimed to: (1) enhance electronic literature search skills, (2) introduce current trends in linguistics research, and (3) facilitate networking with international experts. With a limited budget, the study utilized various free online conferencing platforms (such as Skype and WebEx) and collected data through participant surveys and technical log analysis. Findings indicate that despite technical challenges such as unstable connection quality and a lack of initial technical support, participants unanimously rated the experience as highly beneficial. Key benefits identified included significant development of research competencies, creation of constructive collaborative learning spaces, and cost and time efficiencies. The study concludes that web-conferencing is an effective and feasible synchronous training tool, particularly in resource-constrained contexts. As a recommendation, this study suggests the importance of adequate technical support, integration of asynchronous activities for immersion, and advocacy for institutional and financial support from the government and universities to scale and synergize this kind of collaborative learning model in the higher education environment of Saudi Arabia and other developing countries.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital communication technology has significantly transformed social interaction patterns, particularly among university students who are active smartphone users. Although smartphones facilitate instant communication and access to information, excessive use may lead to social alienation despite physical togetherness, a phenomenon known as alone together. This study aims to analyze the influence of smartphone use and digital interaction on alone together behavior among university students. The research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive-correlational method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 121 university students in Malang City. The variables examined were smartphone use, digital interaction, and alone together behavior. Data analysis was conducted using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, Ftest, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that smartphone use has a positive and significant effect on alone together behavior. Digital interaction also shows a positive and significant influence and is the most dominant variable affecting alone together behavior. Simultaneously, smartphone use and digital interaction significantly influence alone together behavior among students. This study concludes that high dependence on smartphones and intensive digital interaction contribute to decreased quality of face-to-face social interaction. Therefore, balancing digital communication and direct interpersonal interaction is essential to maintain students’ social and emotional well-being.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the subjective experiences of female university students who have been victims of abusive relationships in the context of dating in Malang City. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore the meaning and essence of the victims' experiences in-depth. The main theory used is Lenore Walker's Cycle of Violence Theory, which outlines the recurring pattern of violence in three phases: tension building, acute battering incident, and honeymoon phase. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of three female student informants (RAD, SA, and IAH) selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing) with source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results show that all three victims experienced various complex and overlapping forms of violence, including physical violence (hitting, slapping, kicking), verbal and psychological violence (cursing, humiliation, emotional control), sexual violence (forced intercourse), digital violence (social media surveillance, privacy violations), and financial violence (economic exploitation, forced taking of money). The relationship dynamics followed Walker's cycle of violence, where accumulated tension exploded into explicit violence, followed by a pseudo-reconciliation phase by the perpetrator. This research concludes that abusive relationships among female university students are a multidimensional phenomenon that traps victims in a manipulative cycle. Efforts to increase awareness, education about healthy relationships, and systematic support from campuses and the environment are needed to prevent and address dating violence.

Abstract

This study examines the shifting role and visibility of women within the traditional performance art of Bantengan in Batu City, East Java. Historically dominated by male performers and imbued with spiritual-masculine symbolism, Bantengan has witnessed a notable increase in female participation in recent years. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, this research investigates how women’s involvement is perceived, negotiated, and integrated into this traditionally gendered cultural space. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of digital media content. The study is framed by Peter L. Berger’s theory of social construction to analyze the processes of externalization, objectivation, and internalization of women’s roles within the Bantengan community. Findings reveal that women’s participation not only challenges entrenched gender norms but also revitalizes the art form by attracting younger participants and fostering innovation. Social media platforms, particularly TikTok and Instagram, emerge as significant arenas for the normalization and legitimization of women’s presence in Bantengan, accelerating the community’s acceptance. This research contributes to the discourse on gender, cultural preservation, and digital mediation in traditional arts. It demonstrates that cultural sustainability in the contemporary era can be enhanced through inclusive practices and adaptive communication strategies, positioning women not merely as participants but as active agents in the ongoing transformation of intangible cultural heritage.
