Abstract

The national economy is experiencing dynamics influenced by domestic and global factors, particularly during the post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery period. This study aims to analyze developments in Indonesia's monetary and financial sector, including implemented policies and challenges faced in 2022. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review approach, utilizing data from Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the IMF, and the World Bank. The research findings indicate that more accommodative monetary policy during the pandemic has contributed to economic stability, with interest rate cuts and loosening of liquidity policies. However, various global challenges, such as the Fed's monetary policy normalization, geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine, and global inflation, have also put pressure on the Rupiah exchange rate and domestic financial markets. Meanwhile, the banking sector has demonstrated considerable resilience, with credit growth starting to pick up again, while the capital market and Government Securities (SBN) sectors have faced pressure from capital outflows. Going forward, synergistic monetary and fiscal policies are expected to maintain the momentum of sustainable economic recovery. Financial sector reforms are also needed to strengthen national economic resilience in the face of global uncertainty.

Abstract

Turnover intention among nurses has become a serious challenge for healthcare institutions. This phenomenon is influenced by various internal and external factors. It is essential for hospital management to understand the extent to which nurses intend to remain in their positions, as high turnover rates can negatively impact the quality of healthcare services and organizational stability. This study aims to identify the level of turnover intention among nurses at Hospital X in Tangerang using Mobley’s Turnover Intention Questionnaire, which consists of 10 Likert-scale items. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach with a univariate analysis. The population comprises 20 nurses who voluntarily participated in the study, and the sample includes the entire population. The findings reveal that 4 respondents (20%) have a low intention to leave their jobs, 13 respondents (65%) show a moderate level of turnover intention, and 3 respondents (15%) have a high intention to resign. These results suggest that HR management must take proactive measures to prevent these intentions from translating into actual resignations. Although a moderate level of turnover intention does not necessarily indicate a critical condition, it serves as an important signal of underlying dissatisfaction or discomfort in the work environment, which must be addressed through strategic interventions.

Abstract

This study explores how discretionary human resource (HR) practices and HR service orientation influence employee motivation and performance at PT RAF, a general insurance company in Indonesia. Employing a purely qualitative approach through non-participant observation and in-depth interviews with employees and HR representatives, the findings reveal that HR practices at PT RAF remain largely administrative, with limited attention to career development, training, and employee involvement. A low HR service orientation further weakens the effectiveness of HR policies. Consequently, most employees exhibit a prevention-focused motivational pattern, prioritizing error avoidance over achievement. These findings highlight the need for HR transformation toward a more strategic and service-oriented role to foster promotion-focused motivation and enhance overall employee performance.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the insurance sector requires not only system renewal but also the readiness of human resources (HR) as the main driver of change. This study aims to analyze the role and preparedness of HR in supporting the digitalization of group health insurance business processes at PT KLM Insurance. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with staff and management across key divisions. Findings reveal that digital competencies—both technical skills and soft skills such as adaptability and collaboration—are crucial for successful digitalization. However, challenges such as generational digital gaps, insufficient contextual training, and transitional workload hinder progress. Employee perceptions also show varied attitudes toward digitalization, highlighting the need for inclusive change management strategies rooted in a digital organizational culture. In conclusion, digital transformation success depends not only on technology but also on the full readiness and engagement of HR.

Abstract

Work motivation is a key factor influencing employee performance within an organization. This study aims to describe the level of work motivation among operational employees at PT. Insurance X, Jakarta, in 2025. Using a quantitative descriptive method, data were collected through the Work Motivation Scale (WMS), consisting of 12 Likert-scale items (1–5). The study involved all 20 employees in the operational unit who agreed to participate. Results indicate a moderate level of work motivation, with an average score of 41.8, ranging from 38 to 46. The most influential dimension was intrinsic motivation, particularly job satisfaction and the desire for self-development. The findings suggest that employees are not yet fully driven to perform their tasks optimally. Therefore, strategic HR interventions are recommended, such as providing training opportunities, recognizing employee contributions, and reviewing bonus and promotion systems to enhance work motivation and job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of income levels on behavioral bias tendencies among insurance customers in their decision-making at PT Asuransi BDIR. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of how biases such as loss aversion, overconfidence, availability bias, and status quo bias emerge in decisions to purchase, retain, or cancel insurance policies. The informants included customers from three income categories (low, middle, and high), as well as two insurance agents and one customer service staff for source triangulation. Data collection techniques involved in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation, analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that income moderates the presence of certain behavioral biases. Low-income customers tend to exhibit defensive biases such as loss aversion and availability bias, while high-income customers are more prone to overconfidence and mental accounting. These findings highlight the need for tailored communication and education approaches based on customer behavioral characteristics. The study recommends implementing behavior-based education strategies, behavioral coaching training for agents, and psychographic segmentation to enhance communication effectiveness and policy retention.

Abstract

Nepal has recorded significant improvements in electronic banking (e-banking) in the past years, but there remains a situation of persisting limitations (in terms of infrastructure, digital literacy level and disparity), which tends to affect user satisfaction alongside service delivery. Despite the rise in the scholarly attention given to e-banking in Nepal, the current evidence remains fragmentary, as an incomplete picture exists of the way in which the dimension of service quality influence the experience of e-banking users in Nepal. The primary aim of this systematic review is to critically examine the influence of e-banking service quality on customer satisfaction in Nepalese commercial banks. The review seeks to consolidate fragmented empirical findings and provide a clear understanding of which service dimensions most significantly impact satisfaction. In total 40 peer reviewed empirical studies published between 1985 and 2025 that were selected for a review as per PRISMA guidelines. The five dimensions of SERVQUAL were utilized in being as thorough as possible, with thematic synthesis, but the results were complemented by emergent variables, also considered important to the Nepalese case. In this overview, reliability, responsiveness, and security assurance are outlined as the key dimensions that define the satisfaction of users. Digital trust, infrastructure adequacy, and digital literacy are additional variables, which are proposed as mediating. The underutilized constructs of tangibles and empathy came out as important to rural and first-time users. This study contextualizes and extends SERVQUAL for use in developing digital economies, offering theoretical refinements and actionable insights for Nepalese banks and policymakers to foster inclusive and customer-centric e-banking services.

Abstract

Access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene (WASH) services remains a persistent challenge in many rapidly urbanizing cities, particularly in Nigeria. This study examines Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices in Onitsha Urban Area, Nigeria, using a mixed-methods approach. Onitsha, a densely populated commercial hub, faces rapid urbanization, environmental degradation, and inadequate WASH infrastructure. The study sampled 400 residents using Taro Yamene’s formula and collected data via structured questionnaires validated through direct observation. Reliability was confirmed with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.82. Data analysis included Two-way ANOVA, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and multiple regression to assess the influence of physical and socio-economic factors on WASH services, revealing critical gaps and contributing to evidence-based interventions for improved WASH access. The result showed that Poor WASH services in Onitsha Urban Area result from various physical and socio-economic factors. Using data from (20) variables across (12) layouts, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) identified (7) dominant components explaining (89.67%) of the variance. Major factors include uncontrolled urbanisation (eigenvalue = 4.431), degraded water infrastructure (3.471), poor access due to low income (3.013), flooding (2.637), poor environmental planning (1.837), lack of community ownership (1.345), and inadequate investment (1.198). Principal Component Regression (PCR) revealed a strong correlation (R = 0.902; R² = 81.3%) between these factors and poor WASH services, showing their significant contribution to deteriorating sanitation in the area. In conclusion, the study highlights the urgent need for government and community-driven interventions to strengthen WASH services. It recommends infrastructure upgrades, public awareness campaigns, and the integration of WASH planning into urban development policies to promote healthier living conditions in Onitsha.

Abstract

Economic policy plays an important role in promoting growth and equitable distribution of welfare among the people. This study aims to analyze the impact of fiscal, monetary, and economic development policies on Indonesia's economic growth. Using qualitative descriptive methods, secondary data were collected from academic literature, government reports, and publications from international organizations. The results of the analysis show that fiscal policies, such as energy subsidies and incentives for MSMEs, contribute to maintaining purchasing power and encouraging economic activity in the informal and agricultural sectors. On the other hand, appropriate monetary policies, including inflation control and interest rate adjustments, also strengthen macroeconomic stability and investment. Meanwhile, economic development policies that focus on infrastructure equity and job creation have succeeded in reducing regional inequality and poverty. The combination of these three policies has proven effective in accelerating economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, as indicated by GDP growth, a decline in unemployment, and improvements in the Gini ratio and HDI. These findings emphasize the importance of synergy between adaptive policies and cross-sector collaboration in responding to global economic dynamics.
