Abstract

Background: The larger part of maternal passings in Indonesia are caused by complications amid pregnancy. One preventive exertion to decrease maternal mortality rate can be by expanding data approximately avoiding childbirth complications through video media to pregnant women about preventing complications during childbirth through video media. This media has high effectiveness because of the combination of audio & visual elements into an interesting and interactive media. Objective: To determine the relationship between providing health education about P4K through video media with pregnant women's knowledge about preventing childbirth complications. Method: Using a pre-experimental study by providing pretest and posttest questionnaires to 1 intervention group. The total sampling method was used on 49 respondents, and data analysis used the chi-square test. Results: There was a relationship between providing health education about P4K with the knowledge of pregnant women about preventing complications during childbirth (p = 0.033), but there was no relationship between education and the knowledge of pregnant women about preventing complications during childbirth.

Abstract

Background: Durian seeds are a potential food ingredient to substitute wheat flour due to their nearly equivalent carbohydrate content, which is 72.73%. Additionally, dragon fruit peel contains a high fiber content of 47.7% and a significant amount of phenolic antioxidants, amounting to 39.7±5.39 mg GAE/100 g. School age is a critical period for children's optimal growth and development, which must be supported by adequate nutritional intake. One effort to support this is by modifying snacks, such as brownies, using durian seed flour substitution and the addition of dragon fruit peel to enhance their nutritional quality. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effect of durian seed flour substitution and the addition of dragon fruit peel on the organoleptic quality and nutritional content of brownies, and to determine the best formulation suitable for school-age children. Method: This research employed an experimental method using a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The treatments included the addition of 30 g of dragon fruit peel pulp and substitution of durian seed flour at 15%, 30%, and 45%. Organoleptic tests were conducted using the Friedman test followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The best formula was determined through the Effectiveness Index test and was further analyzed for its nutritional content, including protein, carbohydrates, fat, crude fiber, and phenolics. Result: The hedonic organoleptic test results showed that all treatments—D1N (15% durian seed flour: 85% wheat flour + 30 g dragon fruit peel), D2N (30%:70% + 30 g), and D3N (45%:55% + 30 g)—had significant differences in aroma and texture quality. The best formula was found in D1N treatment, which used 15% durian seed flour and 30 g of red dragon fruit peel pulp. This formulation contained 24.90% fat, 1.80% protein, 46.97% carbohydrates, 3.241% crude fiber, and 1,340 mg of phenolic conten

Abstract

Dermatophytosis is a skin infection caused by dermatophyte fungi, one of which is Trichophyton sp, which can grow in humid conditions such as between the toes. Indramayu District is an area with many skin cracker industry workers who are susceptible to exposure to humid work environments. This study aims to determine which skin cracker workers are infected with Trichophyton sp fungi, and to determine the percentage of skin cracker workers infected with Trichophyton sp fungi. Initial observations were made on 44 workers, and 30 people showed symptoms such as itching, scaly or peeling skin, and redness so that they met the criteria to be used as samples. The study was conducted using a descriptive survey method using a questionnaire and macroscopic and microscopic laboratory examination of skin scrapings from between the toes. Samples were planted on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) media and incubated for 5–7 days. The results showed that out of 30 samples, 4 samples with a percentage of 13,3% were positive for Trichophyton sp. fungus infection, while 26 samples with a percentage of 87% showed negative results. These findings indicate that humid work environments contribute to the risk of fungal infections, but other factors such as foot hygiene and immunity also play a role in preventing infection. This study is expected to be a reference for prevention efforts and improving foot hygiene for workers in humid environments.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB most often attacks the lungs (pulmonary TB), but can also affect other organs such as the kidneys, bones and brain (extra-pulmonary TB). This disease is characterized by the formation of granulomas (small masses of immune cells) in infected tissue. TB is transmitted through the air and can be serious if left untreated, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems. Purpose: The aim of this research is to determine the effect of providing information about how to phlegm on the quality and volume of phlegm. Method: The method used in this research was Quasi Experimental with one treatment (one-group pretest-posttest design). Result: The results of the research from 30 sputum samples suspected of TB at the Karawang Kulon Community Health Center, the results from before being given information on the quality of sputum samples which did not meet the requirements for examination were 29 and after being given information on the quality of sputum which met the examination requirements were 28. The results from before being given information on the volume of sputum samples those who did not meet the examination requirements were 28 and after being given information on the volume of sputum that met the requirements for examination, the number was 28. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the Asym value was obtained. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < significant value 0.05. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on providing information about how to sputum on the quality of phlegm for checking acid-fast bacteria at the Karawang Kulon Community Health Center.
