Abstract

Maintaining hand hygiene is one of the measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent infection during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maintaining hand hygiene can use soap and water or other alternatives such as hand sanitizer with an alcohol content of at least 60%. Hand sanitizer is a hand sanitizer that contains alcohol functions to kill microorganisms in the hands quickly and without rinsing. Hand sanitizers generally consist of two types, namely gels and sprays, both of which have their own advantages and disadvantages. This study aimed to determine the decrease in the number of germs on the palms after using gel and spray hand sanitizers, as well as a comparison of the effectiveness of gel and spray hand sanitizers. The research method used is pre-experimental with the research design "One Group Pretest Posttest design" and the examination method uses Total Plate Count (TPC). The study was conducted at the AAK An Nasher microbiology laboratory from June to August 2021. The results of the study obtained that gel and spray hand sanitizers are effective in reducing the number of germs on the palms, but there is no difference in effectiveness in reducing the number of germs on the palms between the use of gel and spray hand sanitizers. Data analysis using paired sample t-test obtained sig value. (0.000<0.050) for the two types of hand sanitizers, it is concluded that both are significantly able to reduce the number of germs on the palms. The results of the independent samples t-test obtained sig values. (0.449>0.050) There needs to be an effective comparison between gel and spray hand sanitizers. Hand sanitizer gel and spray are effective in reducing the number of germs on the palm, but there is no difference in effectiveness in reducing the number of germs on the palm between the use of gel and spray hand sanitizer

Abstract

Salted jambal roti fish often contains high levels of formaldehyde for reasons of price and long shelf life. Formalin is a hazardous material for human health. Citric acid contained in lemon is believed to be able to reduce formaldehyde levels contained in salted fish. Salted fish contains a lot of formalin levels because of the low price and long shelf life. This study aims to determine the effect of the soaking time of lemon juice on formalin levels in salted jambal roti fish. The method used was pre-experiment with a one-group pretest-postest design. Samples of salted jambal roti fish were treated with lemon juice immersion with 100% concentration for 0, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, and 120 minutes. Formalin levels were analyzed using a uv-vis spectrophotometer. The results showed that the immersion time of lemon juice affects the formalin content in salted jambal roti fish. The largest decrease in formalin levels occurred in soaking for 120 minutes with an average of 3,750 ppm.

Abstract

Pregnancy can cause the body to be very susceptible to low hemoglobin levels, which during pregnancy require sufficient iron for the body. If the body loses iron, anemia will occur, because the body requires the intake of foods that contain iron. Anemia itself where the value of the hemoglobin level is less than the normal value or below the normal value. So if a pregnant woman has a hemoglobin level below the normal value, she will be prone to anemia. The risk of anemia during pregnancy can occur in the fetus because it can affect the growth and development of the fetus and baby, as well as babies born prematurely or with reduced body weight. Dates are a fruit which contains many benefits for the body, one of which is to prevent anemia. The content of the date palm itself contains nutrients for the body such as protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, thiamine, ribovalfin, nicotinic acid, and iron. To determine hemoglobin levels in pregnant women before and after giving dates. The research method used this time was preexperimental with a one-group pre-test post-test research design. While the examination using the cyanmethemoglobin method. Abstract

Anemia is one of the conditions in which the body lacks enough red blood cells or hemoglobin to meet its physiological needs depending on the person's age, gender, age, pregnancy stage and breastfeeding stage because at the breastfeeding stage, the mother is susceptible to experiencing anemia due to iron depletion during breastfeeding and the occurrence of postpartum blood loss. Beetroot (Beta Vulgaris) is a fruit that contains quite high iron and has many nutrients. Beetroot can be used as an alternative to anemia treatment and can also be used as a prevention of anemia. The purpose of this community service activity is to give beets to breastfeeding mothers, namely to increase the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers about the benefits of beets in preventing and treating anemia. The method used in this activity is counseling by means of socialization first then followed by observation using questionnaires and blood sampling for hemoglobin examination. This activity took place at the Posyandu Sukasari Kaler Village, Majalengka Regency on April 14 – 21, 2023. Based on the results of community service activities, we can know that consuming beets for 7 days can prevent anemia and increase hemoglobin levels in breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is still one of the deadliest diseases in the world. Patients with tuberculosis will be given ati-tuberculosis drugs for 6 months. The administration of anti-tuberculosis drugs has 2 phases, for the intensive phase given for 2 months and for the continuation phase given for 4 months. There are types of anti-tuberculosis drugs that have nephrotoxic side effects. If the kidneys, especially the glomerulus, are not functioning properly, erythrocytes can be found in the urine. Normally, erythrocytes in the urine are 0-4 cells/LPB. If more than 0-4 cells/LPB it is called hematuria. This study aims to determine the description of the number of erythrocytes in tuberculosis patients at Arjawinangun Regional General Hospital. In this study using descriptive research method. This study was conducted using a microscopic examination method where urine will be centrifuged first and then made preparations using glass objects and covered with cover glass and viewed using a microscope with a magnification of 40x at least 10 Large Fields. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling. The population in this study were all outpatient TB patients at Arjawinangun Regional General Hospital. Based on the results of urine sediment examination at Arjawinangun Regional General Hospital, data on urine erythrocyte levels in tuberculosis patients obtained the lowest value of 0-1 cells / LPB. The highest value is 12-16 cells/LPB. The average value is 0-2 cells/LPB. The percentage of tuberculosis patients at RSUD Arjawinangun whose erythrocyte levels were positive was 13.3%.
