Abstract

The integration of general and religious knowledge in modern Islamic education is a crucial issue amidst globalization and rapid technological advancement. This study begins with the central issue of the separation between religious and general knowledge, which is considered an obstacle to the development of comprehensive Islamic education. The aim of this study is to analyze the challenges and opportunities in this integration process, focusing on philosophical, theological, and practical approaches. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative analysis of relevant sources. The results indicate that the integration of science and religion can increase the relevance of Islamic education in accordance with the demands of the times and the needs of modern society. However, this study also found that structural challenges and paradigm differences remain major obstacles to the integration process. It can be concluded that collective support from various parties, both conceptually and in policy, is key to the successful implementation of science integration in the current Islamic education system.

Abstract

The school environment has an important role in supporting the success of students’ learning processes. This study aims to identify the meaning of the school environment, the role of the school environment in improving students’ learning achievement, the factors influencing learning achievement, and the efforts to create a conducive school environment. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through literature study from various relevant sources. The results of the study indicate that a safe, comfortable, clean, and supportive school environment can improve students’ motivation, concentration, and learning achievement. In addition, adequate school facilities, interactive teaching methods, and cooperation between schools and parents also provide positive impacts on students’ academic development and character building.

Abstract

The dichotomy between religious and general sciences remains a chronic structural obstacle in realizing holistic and competitive Islamic education in the 21st century. This phenomenon not only impacts institutional fragmentation but also creates an identity crisis among students who struggle to integrate spiritual values with the demands of modern science. This study aims to deeply analyze the philosophical foundations of integrative curriculum development and synthesize its implementation models based on a comprehensive literature review of twenty-five primary academic documents. The research method employs a qualitative library research approach with critical and interdisciplinary content analysis techniques. Data were collected through identification, selection, and extraction of ideas from journals, books, and proceedings covering dimensions of ontology, epistemology, axiology, educational history, to contemporary case studies. Key findings indicate that authentic curriculum integration requires a strong Tawhid foundation not merely as a slogan, but as a unifying paradigm that synergizes naqli and aqli sources of knowledge. This study reveals that past integration failures are often caused by a lack of understanding of diverse philosophical typologies, limited pedagogical competence of teachers, and the reduction of integration to a merely symbolic level. Furthermore, this research finds that integration models in Indonesia vary widely, influenced by the historical dynamics of the Pan-Islamism movement, national thinkers' ideas, and responses to globalization. It is concluded that effective integrative curriculum development demands a total reconstruction of the educator's paradigm, a holistic evaluation design accommodating all human dimensions, and policies that are flexible yet firmly rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

Epistemology in Islamic educational philosophy is a study that examines the nature, sources, and methods of acquiring knowledge based on revelation, reason, and empirical experience. This study aims to examine the concept of epistemology from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy and its relevance to the development of educational systems in the modern era. The method used in this study is qualitative research with a literature study approach through analysis of various sources related to epistemology and Islamic education. The results indicate that Islamic educational epistemology positions the Qur'an and Hadith as the primary sources of knowledge, combined with reason and empirical experience. Furthermore, this epistemology emphasizes the integration of religious and general knowledge and the balance between intellectual, spiritual, and moral aspects in developing knowledgeable, faithful, and noble individuals.
