Abstract

This research aims to assess the effectiveness of applying the problem-based learning model in improving the ability of students in class Discovery Learning with a contextual approach. It is hoped that this evaluation will provide educators and researchers with deeper insight into the combination of the two approaches. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang, class XI-7, using the PTK method to improve the ability to analyze elements of poetry through the Discovery Learning learning model with a video-assisted contextual approach. This research used cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages, which are carried out repeatedly to improve actions in the next cycle. The research results show that the application of the Discovery Learning model is effective in improving the ability of class XI-7 students at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang in analyzing the elements of poetry. Students involved in Discovery Learning show increased active participation in group discussions and presentations, which has a positive impact on their understanding of poetry material. The students' average score increased from 88.85 in cycle I to 90.42 in cycle II, indicating that the Discovery Learning model was successful in improving students' ability to analyze the elements of poetry. The suggestion from this research is that teachers need to continue to develop the Discovery Learning model and contextual approach to increase students' participation and understanding in analyzing the elements of poetry. Students must be active in group discussions and presentations to develop critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in increasing student engagement in Indonesian language classes. Based on the research findings, it was discovered that the application of PBL significantly enhances students' active participation in the learning process. The collected data showed an increase in the percentage of active learning, from 30% in the Pre-Cycle stage, rising to 48% in Cycle 1, and reaching 72% in Cycle 2. This increase in engagement is reflected in various aspects, such as students' courage to ask questions to teachers and peers, the confidence to express opinions during presentations, and active participation in summarizing the lesson material. The 72% engagement rate surpasses the established success indicator of over 70%. These findings indicate that the PBL learning model is effective in enhancing students' active learning, making it a viable alternative learning strategy to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the numeracy skills of class IV students at SDN Peterongan on spatial building material through the application of the Project Based Learn ing Model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) involving collaboration between researchers and teachers as research partners. At the planning stage, researchers designa learning plan that includes learning objectives, material to be taught, activities to be carried out, and evaluations to be carried out. The Project Based Learning model is used as a student-centered learning approach through providing projects at the beginning of learning. The implementation of the Project Based Lea rning Model is carried out in 3 cycles. Observations are carried out to observe students' interactions, their involvement in learning, and changes in their understanding of comparison. Students' numeracy abilities are evaluated through evaluation scores. The research results show an increase in numeracy skills after implementing the Project Based Learning model. Learners show more active involvement in the project and there is interest. They also demonstrated a better understanding of spatial material, which was reflected in increased evaluation scores. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers and schools consider using the Project Based Learning model in teaching spatial building material to class IV students. Collaboration between researchers and teachers is also important in developing effective learning methods. Further research can be carried out to involve more schools and classes in order to expand the scope of the research.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement in learning outcomes of students in mathematics subjects measuring the length of objects using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by concrete media for class I A students at SDN Sawah Besar 01 Semarang. This research is a type of classroom action research with research implementation consisting of pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive quantitative. The subjects of this research were 28 students in class I A at SDN Sawah Besar 01 Semarang. Data collection uses learning outcomes and documentation. The collected data is analyzed by calculating the average score achieved by students. The results showed that in cycle I, the average results increased. This is evidenced by an increase from pre-cycle of 62.85, cycle I of 76.78 and in cycle II there was an increase of 87.14. So it can be concluded that the results of learning mathematics on addition and subtraction material using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model (PBL) assisted by gestic media have increased and the results are satisfactory.
