Abstract

Service is an invisible service activity that can only be felt by someone. Good service will evoke various assumptions and even perceptions, which will trigger perceived satisfaction. Switching to services, there is no doubt when discussing Hajj and Umrah travel companies. Currently, numerous enthusiasts are eager to perform these services, and companies are competing to provide excellent service to each prospective pilgrim. This study aims to analyze the effect of registration services, which are only seen from two sides, namely (Tangible) physical evidence and (reliability) employee reliability, on the level of registration satisfaction. The method used in this research is field research with a quantitative approach. The study used samples from 47 individuals out of a total congregation of 90 people. The result obtained proves that there is a significant effect on Umrah registration by 84,4% on the physical evidence dimensional and 95% on the reliability dimension, because the congregation’s satisfaction score is in the range of 80-100, which means that the congregation can be said to be satisfied with the service provided by employees to the congregation. These findings convince prospective pilgrims in choosing Hajj and Umrah travel companies for the sake of convenience during the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage.

Abstract

This study analyzes the management of organizing the Hajj pilgrimage at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Padang City based on Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah. The research focuses on examining the implementation of management functions, namely planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC), in ensuring effective, efficient, and Sharia-compliant Hajj services. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation techniques, involving Hajj organizers, service officers, and related stakeholders at the Integrated Hajj and Umrah Service Center of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Padang City. The findings indicate that the implementation of Hajj pilgrimage management has been conducted systematically in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and statutory regulations. Collaboration among relevant institutions, structured administrative services, comprehensive guidance, and continuous supervision contribute to improved service quality, safety, and comfort of pilgrims. However, challenges related to integrity and consistency in law enforcement persist, underscoring the need for ongoing evaluation and enhancement of professional and accountable management practices. This study contributes to strengthening governance and policy implementation in Hajj pilgrimage management at the local government level.

Abstract

In the nineteenth century, the Muslim ummah faced an intellectual decline exacerbated by colonial domination, creating an urgent need for renewal. This study examines the thoughts of Muhammad Abduh and Jamaluddin al-Afghani through a qualitative library-based approach. The research was conducted in several stages, including data collection from documents related to the thinkers’ ideas, data reduction, analysis, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that both figures emphasized rational thought, educational reform, and social awareness. Al-Afghani promoted political mobilization and Muslim solidarity, while Abduh focused on rational theological discourse and institutional educational reform. Their ideas provide a crucial foundation for contemporary da’wah management, and combining al-Afghani’s activist vision with Abduh’s rational reformism can create an organized, adaptive, and effective da’wah strategy that responds to both social and spiritual challenges in modern society.

Abstract

Mosques have historically functioned not only as places of worship but also as centers for social, educational, and economic development within Muslim communities. However, in contemporary contexts, particularly in Indonesia, the socio-economic role of many mosques has declined and remains underutilized. This study aims to analyze strategies for repositioning mosques as centers of Islamic socio-economic empowerment by examining the best practices implemented at the Jogokariyan Mosque in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative document analysis method, utilizing secondary data obtained from scientific literature, journal articles, institutional reports, and previous empirical studies related to mosque management and community empowerment. The findings indicate that effective mosque-based empowerment is strongly supported by professional management practices grounded in the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) framework, transparent financial governance, and a balanced allocation of consumptive and productive funds. The Jogokariyan Mosque exemplifies successful community engagement through innovative programs, including waste banks, community marketplaces, daily almsgiving initiatives, social services, and publicly accessible financial reporting. Active participation of congregants and inclusive leadership by mosque administrators (takmir) further strengthens the sustainability of these programs. This study concludes that mosques can function as dynamic institutions for socio-economic development when managed transparently, participatorily, and adaptively. The Jogokariyan model offers a replicable framework for other mosques in Indonesia to enhance their role in addressing community welfare and economic resilience.

Abstract

Persuasive da’wah is an approach that emphasizes gentleness, wisdom, and exemplary conduct in conveying Islamic teachings. This paper aims to explore the concept, foundation, and implementation of persuasive da’wah from the perspective of the Qur’an. This study employs a library research method with a qualitative-descriptive approach, which involves tracing, collecting, and analyzing primary sources in the form of verses from the Al-Qur’an and scholarly interpretations (tafsir), as well as secondary sources in the form of literature on the science of da'wah and Islamic communication. This paper examines Qur’anic verses that serve as the basis for persuasive da’wah, including Surah An-Nahl (16:125), Ali Imran (3:159), and Thaha (20:43–44). The findings reveal that the Qur’an emphasizes that da’wah should be carried out with hikmah (wisdom), mau‘izhah hasanah (good advice), and mujādalah billatī hiya ahsan (dialogue in the best manner). These principles affirm that da’wah is not merely the transmission of religious messages but a process of touching hearts and fostering spiritual awareness without coercion. In the context of modern society, persuasive da’wah is increasingly relevant as it promotes humanistic, dialogical, and contextual communication. Through this approach, da’wah serves not only as a means of spreading Islamic teachings but also as a medium for nurturing moral, social, and humanitarian values in accordance with the spirit of Islam as rahmatan lil ‘alamin (a mercy to all creation).
