Abstract

The Spreaders of Islam in the early period -Walisongo- used wayang (puppet), which is very thick with symbolic values as a media of da’wah, and two of those are in the character of Semar and Togog. Both Semar and Togog have a crucial position in Javanese Wayang's story, which are used as a strategy to make Islamic teachings reachable in society. By using a qualitative descriptive method, this study explores how the symbolic representation of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar in the construction of Semar and Togog characters. The result of this study that Semar as a guardian of protagonist character, such as Pandawa is a representation of amar ma’ruf. On the other side, Togog, the guardian of giants and other antagonist characters, is represented symbolically as nahi munkar. Nevertheless, the Togog’s position, which is in the part of antagonist does not make him automatically become an antagonist itself. He even has a more challenging and more glorious role than Semar because he must be in the dark circle without being a part of that dark itself.

Abstract

Hajj is often synonymous with experiences of mysticism. Scientifically this experience has high Divine values. The purpose of this article is to reveal the dynamics of spiritual well-being in the experiences of Indonesian pilgrims. The qualitative method used in this study consists of two parts, namely the systematic review method and the phenomenological method. The results obtained from a systematic review analysis of spiritual well-being is a feeling of well-being between a person and God, self, social communists and the environment. This spiritual well-being will be inherent in a person's personality including life goals, religious orientation and individual existence in their social life. The results of the systematic analysis of this review serve as an objective source as a guide for researchers to explain the psychological dynamics of the mysticism phenomenon of hajj pilgrims in Indonesia. A very interesting result, this spiritual well-being can increase self-transcendence. The experience of mysticism can be implemented in a positive meaning of life. Such as gratitude, self-forgiveness, flourishing or feeling yourself one with God and the creation of mindfulness when doing worship, also positive towards the future. This experience for the pilgrims is not interpreted as merely a story in religious rituals, but more than that it becomes a transcendent in the entire domain of an individual's spiritual life. Analysis of mysticism experiences also does not focus on experiential content including the positive or negative side of experiential content, but rather focuses on the essence of appreciation and even changes in the meaning of life and individual spiritual satisfaction. The essence of the spiritual experience of the hajj pilgrimage can be an interesting and rich discussion and lesson in the study of Sufism. This research can be an entry point for the development of the concept of Hajj Mabrur at a later date. Keywords: Spiritual Well-being, Pilgrims, Hajj, Indonesia

This study uses the method of stylistic analysis of the Qur'an which is descriptive, thematic, and inductive with a library approach. The results of this study are; first, the style of the Qur'an implies methods of admonishment in preaching and explains how these methods are applied. Second, the style of language in the reprimand is adjusted to the condition of the object and material of da'wah so that it can support the achievement of the mission of da'wah, namely changing the target of da'wah to a better condition. The methods and styles of language referred to are: (a) a gentle reprimand is delivered in an interrogative style for the target who makes mistakes unintentionally and is not fundamental; (b) a firm rebuke in an antithetical style for targets with fundamental errors and prior indications; and (c) a firm reprimand in a satire language style for socially positioned targets with a broad impact error. Keywords: Stylistic, Da'wah, Reprimand Verses
