Abstract

Digital transformation drives changes in consumer behaviour in seeking information, comparing choices, and making purchasing decisions. Traditional retailers in the Barlingmascakeb region face adaptation pressures as consumers become increasingly accustomed to social media-based promotions that are fast, interactive, and influenced by local social networks. This study aims to understand how consumers respond to the digital transformation of traditional retailers through social media promotions in Barlingmascakeb. The method used is qualitative research with a multi-site case study design. The research population includes traditional retail consumers and traditional retailers who actively promote through social media in Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap, and Kebumen Regencies. Informants were determined through purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The study involved 42 informants consisting of 30 consumers and 12 retailers, accompanied by data triangulation through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of digital promotion traces. Data collection was conducted over three months. The results showed that consumer responses were formed through clearer information access mechanisms, faster service interactions, utilitarian promotional content, and strengthened trust through local social proof. The digital transformation of traditional retail is effective when focused on price and stock transparency, consistency of uploads, and responsive chat service management. The implications of the study emphasise the need for informative and ethical social media promotion strategies, as well as practical digital assistance for traditional retailers based on consumer needs and local community characteristics.

Abstract

The Deed of Division of Joint Rights (Akta Pembagian Hak Bersama or APHB) is an important legal instrument in the division of land rights, including land classified as joint marital property following divorce. In practice, the preparation of an APHB may give rise to legal issues when the consent of one party, particularly the wife, is given under circumstances that are not free, such as domestic pressure, economic dependence, or abuse of marital power. This study aims to analyze the responsibility and prudential standards of Land Deed Officials (Pejabat Pembuat Akta Tanah or PPAT) in detecting defects of consent resulting from abuse of circumstances (misbruik van omstandigheden) in the preparation of an APHB, as well as to examine the legal consequences of deeds made under such conditions. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, particularly through an examination of Supreme Court Decision Number 227 K/Pdt/2019 and South Jakarta District Court Decision Number 1079/Pdt.G/2024/PN Jakarta Selatan. The results show that PPATs are not only administratively responsible for examining document completeness, but are also obliged to substantively ensure the existence of free consent from the parties. A PPAT’s negligence in detecting domestic pressure or abuse of circumstances may render an APHB voidable, or even null and void if the transfer of joint marital property is carried out without valid consent from the entitled party. In addition, PPATs may be held administratively, civilly, or criminally liable depending on the degree of fault. Therefore, the active application of the prudential principle is essential to ensure legal certainty and protection for vulnerable parties in the division of joint marital property.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of tax literacy and perceptions of the use of the Core Tax Administration System (Coretax) application on the compliance of Individual Taxpayers (ITPs), with religiosity as a moderating variable. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey of 40 Muslim Individual Taxpayers operating micro and small enterprises registered at the Jayapura Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama Jayapura), selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that tax literacy and perceptions of the Coretax application do not have a significant effect on taxpayer compliance, and religiosity does not function as a moderating variable. However, religiosity has a direct and significant effect on taxpayer compliance. These findings suggest that taxpayer compliance is more strongly influenced by moral and religious values than by knowledge and tax technology factors.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of students' attitudes on knowledge-sharing behavior among accounting students in Jayapura using a quantitative causal research design complemented by descriptive analysis. The study population comprised university students in Jayapura, and respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were collected through questionnaires, resulting in 61 usable responses from accounting students. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS through the evaluation of the measurement model (outer model) and structural model (inner model). The results show that students' attitudes have a positive and significant effect on knowledge-sharing behavior, indicating that students with more favorable attitudes toward knowledge sharing are more likely to engage in knowledge-sharing activities. The findings also highlight the importance of creating a supportive academic environment that encourages interaction, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among students. This study provides practical implications for lecturers, curriculum designers, and educational planners in developing learning strategies that promote knowledge-sharing practices and integrate them into academic activities. In addition, the findings contribute to the literature on knowledge sharing and intellectual capital development in higher education.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven significant transformation in the broadcasting industry through the use of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV). However, the growth of illegal IPTV services that distribute content without authorization has generated serious challenges for the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), particularly copyright. In Indonesia, illegal IPTV practices constitute one of the contributing factors to the weak enforcement of IPR and have influenced Indonesia’s continued placement on the Priority Watch List (PWL) issued by the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR). This condition reflects ongoing tensions between national legal frameworks and international standards in addressing digital-based IPR violations. This study aims to analyze the legal basis and scope of regulations that qualify illegal IPTV services as violations of IPR within the Indonesian legal system, as well as to examine the construction of legal protection against illegal IPTV services from the perspective of the PWL. The research employs a normative juridical method, utilizing statutory and conceptual approaches. The analysis focuses on national legal provisions governing IPR protection, particularly copyright, as well as international legal instruments and non-binding policies, such as the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and PWL reports issued by the USTR. The findings indicate that illegal IPTV services legally fulfill the elements of IPR infringement, as they involve unauthorized reproduction, distribution, and communication of copyrighted works to the public. Although Indonesia has established a national legal framework for IPR protection, the existing legal construction faces significant challenges in responding to the complexities of technology-based infringements and evolving international standards. Therefore, strengthening and updating legal policies that are more adaptive to digital technological developments is necessary to enhance the effectiveness of IPR protection and to improve Indonesia’s position within the international IPR protection regime.

Abstract

Worshiping in a prime condition is a blessing for every religious community. This also applies to Muslims, who have a pillar in their religion that obliges them to perform the Hajj pilgrimage if they are able, both physically and financially. Specifically, for Muslims who are citizens of Indonesia, particularly in the city of Palembang, they face a phenomenon in which the number of Muslims who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in this country is very large, resulting in the implementation of a waiting list program that requires Indonesian citizens who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage to wait for a period determined by the government. This condition, which requires Indonesian citizens to wait, combined with the large number of prospective Muslim pilgrims who wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, makes the waiting list provided by the government tend to take a considerable amount of time. The status of many prospective Hajj pilgrims who are in the elderly phase requires them to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage in a non-prime condition due to age factors and diseases they experience in old age. Government policies regarding the limitation of the number and capability of these prospective pilgrims have certainly created problems due to the large number of prospective pilgrims who fail to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Abstract

This study investigated the implementation of instructional procedures in teaching English speaking ability through self-introduction activities in a traditional boarding school. It aimed to explore how teachers implemented instructional procedures, examine teachers' and students' perceptions, and identify challenges during implementation. A qualitative case study was conducted with 23 Grade 10 students at a boarding school in East Lombok, Indonesia. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis supported by NVivo 14. The findings revealed that instructional procedures generally followed the stages of introduction, guided practice, and speaking performance, although inconsistencies in instructional sequencing, transitions, and time management reduced implementation quality. Teachers and students perceived the procedures as beneficial for promoting classroom interaction, participation, and speaking confidence through modeling, guided practice, and feedback. However, challenges remained, including limited vocabulary, speaking anxiety, low confidence, uneven participation, frequent first-language use, and contextual constraints within the boarding school environment. The study concludes that well-structured instructional procedures effectively support students’ English speaking ability, provided they are implemented systematically with appropriate scaffolding, balanced participation, and sustained opportunities for meaningful communication.

Abstract

The expansion of the premium motorcycle industry in Indonesia has demonstrated substantial growth, concomitant with the rise of automotive lifestyles, motorcycle communities, and the utilization of social media as a marketing communication instrument. Within the premium motorcycle market, consumer purchasing decisions are influenced not solely by the functional attributes of the product but also by brand image, digital marketing initiatives, and the consumer's emotional engagement with the brand. This study aims to examine the impact of brand image and social media marketing on purchasing decisions mediated by customer engagement among premium motorcycle consumers in Indonesia. The investigation concentrated on consumers who are familiar with or exhibit interest in the Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson, and Triumph motorcycle brands. The findings reveal that brand image exerts a positive and significant effect on both customer engagement and purchase decisions. Additionally, social media marketing demonstrates a positive and significant impact on customer engagement and purchase decisions. Moreover, customer engagement is shown to have a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions and functions as a mediator in the relationship between brand image, social media marketing, and purchase decisions among premium motorcycle consumers in Indonesia. These results underscore that a robust brand image, interactive social media activities, and consumer engagement with the brand constitute critical factors in enhancing purchase decisions within the premium motorcycle market
