Abstract

This study examines the protection of suspects’ rights from the perspective of the presumption of innocence through a comparative analysis between the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) and the Thai Criminal Procedure Code (CPC). This research employs normative legal research methods by analyzing primary and secondary legal materials. The findings indicate that although both legal systems recognize the presumption of innocence as a fundamental principle, differences exist in the mechanisms for protecting suspects’ rights and prosecutorial authority. Indonesia emphasizes procedural safeguards through strict state control, while Thailand provides greater opportunities for victim participation in prosecution. Furthermore, the enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code strengthens the presumption of innocence as a fundamental principle in Indonesian substantive criminal law. This study concludes that comparative analysis offers important insights for strengthening human rights protection within criminal justice systems.

Abstract

Economic exploitation of children remains a serious problem occurring in many countries, including Indonesia and Thailand. Such exploitative practices not only violate children's human rights but also have negative impacts on their physical, mental and social development. This study aims to analyze the legal regulations and the effectiveness of legal protection for child victims of economic exploitation in Indonesia and Thailand, as well as to identify obstacles in their implementation. The research method employed is normative legal research using statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. Data were obtained through library research on national legislation, international legal instruments, and relevant legal literature. The findings indicate that Indonesia and Thailand have established legal frameworks governing the protection of children from economic exploitation, both through national legislation and the ratification of international instruments such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and ILO Conventions. However, the effectiveness of legal protection implementation in both countries still faces various challenges, including weak law enforcement, lack of inter-agency coordination, social stigma against victims, and socio-economic factors that contribute to child exploitation. Therefore, strengthening legal substance, enhancing the capacity of law enforcement officials, consistently applying a restorative justice approach, and increasing active community participation are necessary to achieve more effective and sustainable legal protection for child victims of economic exploitation.

This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational design. The research sample consisted of 62 teachers. Data were collected thru questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation tests with the help of SPSS version 25. The research results show a positive and significant relationship between the use of Generative AI and teachers' ability to develop assessment questions. These findings indicate that Generative AI can function as a supportive technology to assist teachers in creating assessment questions more effectively and efficiently. Additionally, Generative AI can be utilized as an alternative tool to develop various assessment items, adjust the difficulty level of questions, and support the evaluation process. Therefore, educational institutions can consider integrating Generative AI as a supportive resource to enhance the quality of assessment development. However, schools must ensure that the use of Generative AI is implemented wisely and remains aligned with learning objectives, content relevance, and student characteristics. These findings indicate that Generative AI has been widely used by teachers and is related to various aspects that support the effectiveness of assessment preparation and learning material development.

Abstract

The hospitality industry in Jakarta faces increasingly intense competition, making a thorough understanding of the determinants of guest loyalty a pressing strategic necessity. This study aims to analyze the influence of facilities, service quality, and customer satisfaction on guest loyalty at star-rated hotels in Jakarta. A quantitative approach was employed with a cross-sectional survey design involving 306 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of a Likert-scale questionnaire comprising 31 statement items, which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, preceded by classical assumption tests including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The results indicate that simultaneously, facilities, service quality, and customer satisfaction have a significant effect on guest loyalty, with F = 367.421 (sig. < 0.001) and R Square = 0.809. Partially, facilities emerged as the most dominant predictor (β = 0.648, sig. < 0.001), followed by customer satisfaction (β = 0.210, sig. = 0.001), while service quality showed no significant partial effect. This study underscores the importance of sustained investment in hotel facilities and continuous enhancement of customer satisfaction as primary strategies for building long-term guest loyalty in Jakarta's competitive hospitality market.

Abstract

The governance of state investment management bodies places directors in a strategic position that requires a careful balance between business decision-making flexibility and public accountability in managing separated state assets. The central challenge arises from the blurred boundary between legitimate business discretion and actions that may trigger legal liability. This article examines the legal construction of authority and responsibility of the directors of the Badan Pengelola Investasi Danantara through the perspective of the Business Judgment Rule and principles of sovereign investment governance. The analysis employs a statute-based approach, a conceptual approach, and a limited comparative approach with the governance models of Temasek (Singapore) and Khazanah (Malaysia), supported by library-based methods and qualitative normative analysis. The discussion focuses on the interaction between corporate law, state finance law, and the constitutional mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution of Indonesia. The findings highlight the urgency of establishing clearer normative boundaries to strengthen legal certainty, prevent abuse of authority, and preserve the effectiveness of strategic investment decision-making in state investment management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationships between human resource planning, technology integration, and public service performance among employees of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of Labuhanbatu Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative approach using a survey method was employed. The study population consisted of 92 employees, with a minimum sample size of 75 respondents determined using Slovin's formula at a 5% margin of error. Simple random sampling was selected, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, partial t-tests, and an F-test. The preliminary findings indicate that human resource planning has a positive but statistically insignificant relationship with public service performance, whereas technology integration demonstrates a positive and statistically significant relationship. The overall regression model was also reported to be statistically significant, although the original statistical output still requires verification. These findings highlight the importance of integrating digital technologies into administrative processes while strengthening competency-based human resource planning. This study contributes to the public-sector management literature by examining human resource planning and technology integration within the institutional context of regional financial and asset management. The practical implications emphasize the development of integrated information systems, enhancement of employees' digital competencies, and more effective human resource management to support responsive and accountable public administration.

Abstract

Employee performance is essential to the effectiveness and quality of public-service delivery, particularly in local government institutions. This study examines the relationships between transformational leadership, work discipline, organizational culture, and employee performance at the Department of Transportation of Labuhanbatu Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using a cross-sectional survey and census sampling involving 73 employees. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through instrument validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results indicate positive regression coefficients for transformational leadership (B = 0.348), work discipline (B = 0.266), and organizational culture (B = 0.264). The simultaneous regression analysis yielded an F-statistic of 37.424 (p < 0.001), with an R² of 0.619 and an adjusted R² of 0.603. These results indicate that the three independent variables collectively explain 61.9% of the observed variation in employee performance. The findings highlight the importance of integrating transformational leadership, consistent work discipline, and a supportive organizational culture in public-sector human resource management. This study contributes empirical evidence from Indonesian local government administration and provides practical implications for strengthening leadership development, employee accountability, and service-oriented organizational practices. Future research should employ longitudinal designs and multisource performance measurements to further examine these relationships.
