Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media TikTok in the context of Islamic education, particularly within the 5.0 Era. The 5.0 Generation refers to a group that has grown up in the digital age, deeply connected to technology and social media, including TikTok. The primary objective of this research is to understand TikTok's role in Islamic education in the 5.0 Era and its impact on the understanding and practice of religion among this generation. This study uses a qualitative approach, conducting interviews with members of Generation 5.0 who actively use TikTok as an educational platform. The findings indicate that TikTok has become an effective medium for spreading religious messages, promoting Islamic values, and building religious communities among followers. TikTok allows for the dissemination of Islamic teachings, including the Quran and other educational content, through various formats such as images, videos, and stories. Moreover, the research shows that TikTok positively influences the understanding and practice of religion in this generation by providing easy access to religious information and support from religious communities. However, the study also highlights potential negative impacts, such as the spread of misinformation or radicalization, if not properly monitored.

Abstract

This article explains the Bakaua ritual at sacred graves, a tradition of the Nagari Sungai Limau community that has deep theological value. This research aims to analyze the meaning of theological values in the Bakaua ritual and how its practice can strengthen people's spiritual relationships. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research examines the spiritual, social, and cultural aspects inherent in the Bakaua tradition. The research results indicate that this ritual serves not only as a means of prayer and respect for ancestors but also as a medium for strengthening social relations and preserving local wisdom. Apart from that, the Bakaua ritual is seen as a form of asking for protection, expressing gratitude, and fulfilling vows, which reflects the close relationship between culture and theology in the life of Minangkabau society. The method used in this research is qualitative, encouraging a different approach from previous research, which only discussed Bakaua dramaturgy in the Minangkabau society. However, this paper places more emphasis on aspects of theological values in the Bakaua ritual tradition at sacred graves. This study highlights how theological meaning is embodied through symbolic practices, offerings, and communal prayers that represent submission to divine will. It also reveals how the ritual facilitates intergenerational transmission of spiritual values, maintaining continuity of belief systems in modern contexts. By analyzing community participation and oral narratives, the research uncovers deep spiritual motives rooted in Islamic beliefs intertwined with local cultural expressions. In addition, the findings underscore the community’s resilience in preserving traditional theology-based rituals despite the influence of modernization and shifts in religious interpretations. The Bakaua ritual thus becomes a cultural-theological bridge that binds generations and sustains spiritual identity within the dynamic life of the Minangkabau people.

Abstract

The study of eschatology and logic in Islam represents a significant and intellectually rich area within the broader discourse of ʿAqidah (Islamic creed) and Islamic philosophy. Eschatology, derived from the Greek word eschatos meaning "last," concerns matters of the afterlife, including death, the apocalypse (al-Sāʿah), resurrection (al-Baʿth), judgment (al-Ḥisāb), heaven (Jannah), and hell (Jahannam). These concepts are elaborated extensively in both the Qur'an and the prophetic traditions (ḥadīth). Meanwhile, logic in Islam is not merely a philosophical exercise but serves as an epistemological framework for interpreting divine revelation and deducing legal and theological principles. Islamic logic (al-manṭiq) is rooted in both Greek logical tradition—particularly Aristotelian logic—as well as unique Islamic methodologies that integrate rationality with scriptural fidelity. This research aims to analyze selected verses and prophetic traditions related to eschatology and logic, with the objective of understanding not only their linguistic and theological meanings but also their practical implications for human belief systems and ethical behavior. The study employs an interpretive and analytical method (manhaj taḥlīlī wa tafsīrī), focusing on exegesis (tafsīr) of Qur’anic verses QS. Al-A'raf: 187–188 and QS. Al-An'am: 30, as well as relevant ḥadīths concerning eschatological events and rational thought. These verses were selected due to their direct references to the knowledge of the Hour (ʿilm al-sāʿah) and the human tendency to demand evidence while rejecting spiritual truth. The findings indicate that Islamic eschatology is framed not around speculative prediction but rather spiritual and moral readiness. The Qur'an clearly asserts that knowledge of the exact time of the Day of Judgment belongs solely to Allah (QS. Al-A’raf: 187), highlighting the limitations of human knowledge and emphasizing submission to divine wisdom.

Abstract

This conceptual study examines how Islamic Da’wah institutions can be strategically transformed to effectively contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on quality education and Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions. Grounded in strategic management principles and the ethical foundations of Islamic thought, especially maqashid shariah (the objectives of Islamic law), the paper presents a model that integrates religious values into institutional planning and reform. By conducting a thorough review of existing literature, the study identifies and synthesizes essential components for transformation, including visionary leadership that prioritizes long-term impact, ethical governance rooted in transparency and accountability, and inclusive education that is both accessible and values-based. The analysis reveals that aligning Islamic ethical frameworks with global development goals can enhance the operational effectiveness and social relevance of Da’wah institutions. Moreover, the incorporation of maqashid shariah in organizational strategy promotes a holistic approach to development that balances spiritual and material objectives. The study argues that by embracing strategic planning processes that reflect both Islamic values and modern development practices, Da’wah institutions can play a crucial role in advancing educational equity and institutional integrity. This not only strengthens the legitimacy and sustainability of these organizations but also positions them as key partners in the broader development agenda. Ultimately, the paper contributes to ongoing discussions about the role of faith-based organizations in global development by offering a conceptual framework that bridges Islamic governance principles with the pursuit of sustainable development outcomes, encouraging a more integrated and ethically grounded approach to institutional reform.
