Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the digital capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Cibadung Village through a sustainable e-business strategy. The initiative is based on the low adoption of digital technology among rural MSMEs, which results in limited efficiency, market reach, and business competitiveness. The program was implemented in three main stages: identifying MSME needs through field surveys; conducting interactive training on the use of financial applications, digital marketing strategies, and efficient production tools; and evaluating the program’s impact through pre-tests, post-tests, and the establishment of a WhatsApp-based digital community. The results indicate that the program had a significant impact in three key areas. First, business efficiency improved as 60% of participants began using digital accounting applications, saving 2–3 hours of operational time per day. Second, 75% of participants reported increased visits and transactions via social media and online marketplaces. Third, the creation of a digital community among MSME actors encouraged ongoing information exchange, consultation, and collaboration. The program demonstrates that a needs-based approach, contextual training, and multi-stakeholder collaboration can effectively accelerate inclusive technology adoption. It is expected that this initiative can serve as a pilot model for village-based MSME digital transformation and be replicated in other regions using a similar approach to foster sustainable local economic growth.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to reduce landslide risk in Kandri Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City, by utilizing a participatory disaster risk map as the main instrument for community empowerment. The risk assessment revealed that land movement is the highest threat with a score of 6 (probability = 3, impact = 3), compared to fire (3), drought (2), and land exploitation (2). The high risk is caused by a combination of hilly topography, high rainfall, clay soil, and human activities such as deforestation and hillside construction. Methods included FGDs, participatory mapping, awareness campaigns, preparedness training, and evacuation drills. As a result, the community was able to read and use the risk map to identify vulnerable areas (RW 2 and RW 4), designate evacuation routes, and develop a local early-warning system. The risk map proved effective as both an educational medium and a practical tool in building a Disaster-Resilient Village.

Abstract

Coastal abrasion in Central Java seriously threatens social, economic, and environmental sustainability. In response to this urgency, the Abrasea Indonesia Community was established as a new initiative for community-based conservation. However, as a newly formed organization, the effectiveness of its outreach programs and communication remains limited due to the absence of a structured digital platform. Therefore, this community service initiative aims to transform the community's operations by developing the digital platform abrasea.org as a hub for centralized information and increased public participation. The method employed is a participatory approach that actively involves community members in the planning and development of the platform, combined with quantitative and qualitative approaches to measure its success. The results show that within three months after its launch, the platform successfully increased website visitors by 75% and mobilized 80 new volunteers through online registration. This outcome strengthens institutional capacity and shifts the community's social behavior in organizing and publicizing activities. Thus, the digital platform has proven effective as a catalyst for expanding outreach and reinforcing the role of the Abrasea Indonesia Community in creating more sustainable conservation impacts since its inception.

Abstract

Peron Village, located in Limbangan Subdistrict, Kendal Regency, lies on the western slopes of Mount Ungaran and forms part of the Bodri Watershed (DAS Bodri), one of the priority watersheds in Central Java. The village has developed an agroforestry system integrating coffee, sugar palm, and rice fields; however, as an upstream area, the land faces severe ecological pressures in the form of high soil erosion. This erosion threatens to reduce land productivity and increase the risk of flooding in downstream regions. A strategic intervention undertaken is the planting of flamboyant trees (D. regia) and tabebuya trees (T. rosea) as protective and shade vegetation. Both species possess strong root systems and dense canopies, making them effective in reducing erosion rates, enhancing water infiltration, and enriching the aesthetic value of the village landscape. Beyond their ecological functions, flamboyant and tabebuya trees also contribute to the community’s socio-cultural well-being by creating green spaces that foster comfort and strengthen the identity of the agroforestry landscape. Thus, the planting of flamboyant and tabebuya trees in Peron Village serves not only as a measure to mitigate erosion and flooding but also as an integrative strategy for sustaining ecological balance, economic resilience, and social cohesion in the buffer zone of the Bodri Watershed.   Keywords: Bodri Watershed; Agroforestry; Flood Mitigation; Upstream Greening; Landscape Aesthetics

Abstract

Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) is one form of community service carried out by students of Universitas Dr. Soetomo with the aim of applying knowledge while providing real benefits to society. The KKN-T activities in Klampis Ngasem Village, Surabaya carried three main themes: stunting prevention, MSME development, and strengthening the values of Pancasila in society . The implementation methods included field observations, discussions with the community, and participatory activities involving local residents directly. The results of the program showed that nutritional screening for toddlers and stunting education successfully improved the community’s health literacy. The cooking demo program, in collaboration with PT Hakiki Donarta, provided new inspiration and skills in developing businesses based on simple food products. Meanwhile, the education on planting and processing butterfly pea flower tea not only introduced the benefits of local herbal plants but also instilled the values of unity and mutual cooperation in the younger generation. Overall, the KKN-T program in Klampis Ngasem had a positive impact on the community, both in terms of health, entrepreneurship, and character building. This activity also served as a learning platform for students to sharpen their social skills and sense of responsibility.
