Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase of Social Science achievement through Role Playing assisted with Story Flannel. It is a Classroom Action Research. The subjects are 30 fifth grade students of SDN Cacaban 1 of Magelang City. There are two cycles consisting of three meetings in each. Data are obtained through observation and tests. While they are analyzed through quantitative descriptive method. Pre-action test result reveals the average score is 53.63 with classical completeness 23.33%. The average score of Cycle I test is 66.73 with 66.33% of classical completeness. While in Cycle II, the average score is 78 with 93.33% of classical completeness. Hence, it can be concluded that Role Playing assisted with story flannel can improve student achievement in Social Sciences.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase of student’s activity and achievement in SD Negeri Nguwet by using Jembatan Pintar in learning Civics. The subjects are teacher and all sixth grade students who consists of 17 boys and 20 girls. It is divided into of two cycles. Data were collected through tests and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. It compares the results between the initial data, cycle I, Cycle II and responses found during the classroom activities. Results of the research indicates an increase. The student’s activity improves to be enough in cycle I and be very good in cycle II. Overall the implementation of Jembatan Pintar can enhance students’ engagement and achievement. It can be used not only learning Civics but also all of subjects in school.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students’ creativity of preparing and serving non-alcoholic drinks. Broad-Based Education and Life Skills are applied in learning activities. XI grade students of Restaurant 1 Program are involved as the subjects. It is conducted in the 2nd semester in SMKN 3 of Magelang. Based on observation, it is found that the creativity of concocting drinks is 61.56% and increases in Cycle I to 72%. In Cycle II it increases to 100%. Juggling skills increases from 60% to 75% in Cycle I, and to 100% in Cycle II. Students’ achievement increases from 70% to 78% in Cycle I, and to 100% in Cycle II. Hence the implementation of Broad-Based Education and Life Skills can enhance students’ creativity in Prepare and Service Non-Alcohol Drink.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' writing competence with the meta-analysis method. The research method applied in this study is classroom action research (CAR). The objects of this study were 138 students of the Faculty of Language and Literature Education Study Program Proposal Seminar FKIP, Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta. This research was conducted in the academic year 2018/2019. The results of this study indicate that the meta-analysis method is effective for improving students' scientific writing competence. The effectiveness of the meta-analysis method is shown by the following indicators: (1) the topic of proposed scientific writing is interesting and contains contemporary elements; (2) the presentation of a clear problem statement; reference sources used are actual and factual. Improvement of students' scientific writing competence from initial conditions: cycle 1: cycle 2, which is 75.5: 79.7: 88.9.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how SQ4R strategy improves students’ reading skills of Narrative Text. The subjects are 36 students of X IPS 3. It uses CAR design which is carried out in 2 cycles. The data collection is conducted through classroom observation and test. The results showed that there is a match between the learning of Narrative Text Reading and the application of the SQ4R strategy. Students look enthusiastic about learning activities. Overall, the use of the "SQ4R" method can improve narrative text reading skills. This method is in accordance with the character of reading activities of narrative text and can be applied to other reading classes.
