Abstract

The purpose of these research was studying of capability for Xanthomonas campetris to bioconversion toward sago solid waste became xanthan gum, to know pH influences and sugar consentration for forming of high xanthan gum. Based on the research was done revealed that X. campetris which doing bioconversion process become xanthan gum which achieved rendemen about 11,026%. Optimum pH to producing of xanthan gum was obtained 7.0. the consentration of sugar for forming the high xanthan gum which 4%. The result of thesereseach is expected to give  benefit in supporting seeking of the cheap substrate for xanthan gum producing. Keywords : xanthan gum, sago solid waste, Xanthomonas campetris

Abstract

This study was an experimental study, aimed to determine the effect of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) leaf extract on golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata L) mortality and to determine the leaf extract concentration that provide best effect on golden apple snail mortality. The variables of this study were cassava leaf extract as independent variable and golden apple snail mortality as dependent variable. This study used complete random design, consisted of 6 treatments: K0 (without cassava leaf extract application), K1 (50 g/L), K2 (75 g/L), K3 (100 g/L), K4 (125 g/L) and K5 (150 g/L), each treatment had three repetitions using 10 snails in every treatment, so the total number of snails used was 6 x 3 x 10 = 180. The test performed in two steps, pilot test and real test to observe the LC50 and LT50 value with observation parameters including rate and number of golden apple snail mortality for 48 hours observation. The obtained data were analyzed using variance analysis Fα = 0,05 and probit analysis, continued with BNT α = 0,05. It was observed that cassava leaf extract had significant effect on golden apple snail mortality and mortality rate began at 4 hour application. Result of BNT α = 0.05 providing the best effect was concentration of 100 g/L (K3). LT50 value for cassava leaf extract was at 57.280 hours, with regression slope  Y = -0,506 + 3,132X. Whereas the LC50 value was 88.716 g/L with regression slope Y = 7,997 – 1,762X. Keywords: golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata L)., Manihot esculenta Crantz and mortality

Abstract

This research aim to know the comparison between the result of the student’s studying that is learned by using exchange couple type of cooperative learning model with STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) type of cooperative learning model for class VII State junior high school no 24 of Makassar. This research is included of Queasy Experimental research with post test group only design where class VII.7 as 1st experiment and class VII.8 as 2nd experiment class. This research is done in three times of learning process meeting and once evaluation test. Taking data is done by using the test of biology studying result and then analyzed descriptive and inferentially. The result is average value in the 1st experiment class is 62,35 and for  2nd experiment class is 72,38 and after hypothesis test is done with using t-test, so obtained thitung is 2,81 and ttabel 1,99. This result shows that there is difference of result student’s biology studying between the using of exchange couple type of cooperative learning model with STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) type of cooperative learning model, where the result of student’s studying that use STAD type of cooperative learning model is higher than exchange couple type of cooperative learning model.   Keywords: exchange couple type of cooperative learning model, STAD (Student Team Achievement Division), result of studying.

Abstract

Identification of Bryophytes (Mosses) plant species have been done. This research was based on morphological characters of mosses at tour location Takapala Waterfal in Malino. The result shows that there are twelve species of Bryophytes, from two classis (Hepaticae and Musci). Hepaticae classis consist of three species, and Musci classis consist of nine species.   Keywords: identification, bryophytes

Abstract

The paliasa (Kleinhovia hospital Linn.) is one of the plans that contained chemical compounds of secondary metabolites and used as a medicine. Kloform extract from the stem skin paliasa have a high bioactivity against Arthemia salina Leach; (LC5 164.55 g/ml). The study was to identificated metabolite secondary compounds of kloroform extract at stem skin palias and toxicity against Arthemia salina Leach. One compound was identificated namely-sytosterol steroid compound. The compound purified by flask chromatography and identificated with infra red (IR) Spectroscopy. Abstract

R is software as well as a functional programming language. This project use R to solve basic analysis of vegetation ecology. Vegetation parameters that computed with R are density, dominance, frequency, important value index, Shanon-Wenner’s diversity index. Abstract

These research aims to isolate and identify alkaloid compound in acetone extracts from sambung nyawa leafs Gynura procumbens L. This compound obtained trough keeping the plant and isolation. The isolation consists of extraction, fractionation, purification, and identification. The identification consists of melting point test, three phase system test, and Dragendorf test. The results of the research are: 90 mg of white crystal with the range of its melting point is 134-1360 C. The crystals indicate positively with Dragendorf test. These results indicate that the compound can be classified in the alkaloid compound.   Keywords: alkaloid, acetone, Gynura procumbens L.

Abstract

This research aimed at understanding the content of cadmium in T. sulcata snail which was taken from Bua beach, Luwu. This is a descriptive research where the variable discussed is the cadmium content in snail. Samples were taken from three stations in Luwu. 25 snails were taken from each station. Snail’s meats used as samples were destroyed. Then the cadmium content was analyzed by using SSA at South Sulawesi Agricultural Technology Research Boaicl in Maros. The result of research shower that the highest Cd content was found in Station III with 0,487 mg/Kg, then station II with 0,235 mg/Kg and station I with 0,197 mg/Kg. snail, which can be found at can be prover that T. sulcata around 0,197 ppm – 0,487 ppm cadmium (Cd) content. It is still in normal degree or based on what FAO and WHO recommend that is less than 0,95 mg/Kg   Keywords: snail Terebralia sulcata,cadmium(Cd)
