Abstract

An essential component of a nation's economic development is labor dynamics. The purpose of this study is to perform a descriptive analysis of Indonesia's unemployment and working population comparison between 2011 and 2020. The information utilized comes from BPS statistical records and includes the number of employed and unemployed individuals as well as auxiliary variables like employment opportunities, wage rates, economic growth, and educational attainment. The primary trends in the workplace over the last ten years are examined in this study using a descriptive analysis methodology. The impact of multiple factors, such as the global economic crisis, technological advancements, and the unprecedented pandemic, was examined by analyzing notable shifts in the unemployment rate and working population. Key determinants of employment dynamics include things like economic growth, institutional policies, structural transformation, and educational attainment. This research contributes significantly to our understanding of the intricate dynamics of employment in Indonesia and sheds light on policy implications for inclusive growth, better jobs, and labor market resilience. It is anticipated that the implications of this study will provide a basis for the development of policies that are more flexible and sensitive to upcoming difficulties, resulting in the establishment of an employment environment that is both inclusive and sustainable.

Abstract

Fire safety is crucial in protecting lives and property. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of fire safety education in enhancing the knowledge of students at SMAN 1 Gebog. The introduction explains that schools are potential environments for fires, necessitating interventions to enhance awareness and preparedness. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest on 40 eleventh-grade students, who received education through presentations and simulations over 2 hours. The analysis showed a significant increase in students' knowledge after the intervention, with the average pretest score of 5.5 rising to 9.0 in the posttest. Statistical tests (t-test) confirmed that this improvement was statistically significant (t = 12.41, p < 0.001). The study concludes that the education was effective in enhancing students' knowledge of fire safety in schools. To ensure sustainability, it is recommended to develop training for teachers as trainers in the future, thereby enabling the program to continue and sustainably mitigate fire risks in school environments.

Abstract

This research reviews the profile and political thoughts of Muhammad Abduh, a thinker, theologian and reformer of Islamic reform in Egypt at the beginning of the 19th century. Even though he was born in 1849 AD / 1265 AH, the date and year of Muhammad Abduh's birth are not known for certain because of his family's habit of not prioritizing recording. He grew up as a farmer and experienced early education in memorizing the newspaper. Abduh supports democracy and the establishment of laws that are in line with Islamic values. He emphasized the need to limit power with a constitution and detailed the principles of democracy and the establishment of separate but cooperative government institutions. In his view, the government must provide citizens' rights, listen to criticism, and maintain the welfare of society. This research describes the life journey, political thoughts, and contribution of Muhammad Abduh in formulating a moderate view of social and political change in the Islamic world during his time.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized various business sectors, including the global clothing trade. Alongside new apparel, the importation of secondhand clothing into Indonesia, commonly referred to as "thrifting," has gained popularity due to its affordability. However, this practice has raised concerns regarding its legality and impact on the national economy. This paper examines the legality of buying and selling imported secondhand clothing (thrifting) online from the perspective of Indonesian positive law. Using a normative juridical method, the research reveals that both online and offline thrifting practices violate several regulations, including the Job Creation Law, the Consumer Protection Law, and the Minister of Trade's Regulation on Export and Import Prohibited Goods. Key factors driving the persistence of thrifting in Indonesia include the country's openness to imports and the demand for affordable, high-quality clothing. Despite its growing popularity, thrifting poses significant risks, such as health hazards and detrimental effects on the domestic garment industry.
