Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan berbagai upaya yang dilakukan guru untuk menciptakan suasana kelas yang kondusif dalam proses internalisasi nilai karakter disiplin di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Muhammadiyah Sapen Yogyakarta, dengan subjek guru dan siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data yang digunakan adalah teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa iklim kelas yang kondusif merupakan hal penting yang harus diperhatikan dalam proses internalisasi nilai karakter disiplin di sekolah, khususnya sekolah dasar. Beberapa kegiatan yang dilakukan guru pada tahap perencanaan adalah mempersiapakan sarana dan prasarana kelas, meliputi wastafel di dekat kelas, rak sepatu, tempat sampah, tempat mengumpulkan tugas siswa, tata tertib kelas, pesan-pesan afektif, daftar piket, dan sebagainya. Selanjutnya pada tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran, guru perlu melakukan proses pembelajaran sesuai dengan yang telah direncanakan, dan menjaga konsistensi dalam penerapan aturan sekolah maupun aturan kelas. Pada tahap akhir yaitu evaluasi terhadap proses belajar mengajar guru perlu melakuukan refleksi tentang perilaku disiplin siswa pada hari itu. Dalam upaya menciptakan iklim kelas yang kondusif tidak terlepas dari keteladanan kepala sekolah. Kata Kunci: internalisasi, karakter disiplin, iklim kelas INTERNALIZATION OF THE CHARACTER OF DISCIPLINE THROUGH THE CREATION OF CONDUCIVE CLASSROOM ATMOSPHERE AT MUHAMMADIYAH SAPEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN YOGYAKARTA Abstract: This study aims to find the various effortsmade by the teachersto create a conducive classroom atmosphere for the internalization process of the character of discipline in elementary school. This was a descriptive study using a qualitative approach conducted at Muhammadiyah Sapen Elementary School in Yogyakarta, with the subjects consisting of teachers and students. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Data validity was achieved throughatriangulation technique. The results show that the conducive classroom is an important aspect that must be considered in the internalization process of the character of discipline in schools, particularly in primary schools. Some of the activities carried out at the planning stage were: teachers prepared class infrastructure, covering the washbasin near the classroom, shoe racks, rubbish bins, the box for submitting students’ assignments, classroom rules, affective messages, picket list, and so on. Then, in the implementation phase of learning, teachers needed to run the teaching and learning process as planned, and maintain consistency in the application of the school rules and the classroom rules. At the final stage, evaluation of the teaching and learning process, the teachers needed to reflect on the behavior of the students’ discipline on the day. The effort to create a conduciveclassroom atmospherecould not be separated from the principal’s role model. Keywords : internalization, character of discipline, classroom atmosphere

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pembentukan karakter mandiri melalui pendidikan pertanian (agriculture)di Pondok Pesantren Islamic Studies Center Aswaja Lintang Songo Piyungan Bantul Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kasus (case study). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima prinsip pem- bentukan karakter mandiri yang dikembangkan di Pondok Pesantren Islamic Studies Center Aswaja Lintang Songo yang pada umumnya menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis komunitas yang berangkat dari realitas alam dan kehidupan. Bentuk-bentuk karakter mandiri yang dikembangkan adalah disiplin dan bersungguh-sungguh, kemandirian dan kerja keras, religius, kebersamaan, peduli, kasih sayang, kesederhanaan, hormat, santun, tanggung jawab, jujur, dan ikhlas. Kesemuanya terbentuk dalam program-program pendidikan dan praktik pertanian (agriculture) yang dilaksanakan di pondok pesantren tersebut. Kata Kunci: karakter, mandiri, pertanian, dan pesantren aswaja SHAPING AUTONOMOUS CHARACTER THROUGH AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION AT PONDOK PESANTREN ISLAMIC STUDIES CENTER ASWAJA LINTANG SONGO PIYUNGAN BANTUL YOGYAKARTA Abstract: this research aims at describing the shaping of autonomous character through agricultural education at Pondok Pesantren Islamic Studies Center Aswaja Lintang Songo Piyungan Bantul Yogyakarta. This is a qualitative study in the form of a case study. Data collection was conducted through observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive analysis technique. The findings show that there are five principles of shaping the autonomous character developed at Pondok Pesantren Islamic Studies Center Aswaja Lintang Songo which generally use community-based learning rooted from the reality of nature and life. The forms of autonomous characters developed are discipline, seriousness, autonomy and hard work, religiosity, togetherness, care, love, modesty, respect, politeness, responsibility, honesty, and sincerity. All of these are shaped in the education programs and agricultural practices carried out in the pondok pesantren. Keywords: character, autonomous, agriculture, and pesantren aswaja

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter dalam perkuliahan pemrograman komputer berbasis projek dan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan soft skill mahasiswa. Disain penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan pendekatan model Kurt Lewin. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pen- didikan Teknik Mekatronika FT UNY. Teknik analisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam perkuliahan pemrograman lanjut terdiri atas beberapa aspek utama, yakni meliputi aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan eva- luasi pembelajaran; (2) kemampuan soft skill mahasiswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui pengembangan nilai-nilai karakter dalam wujud ketaatan beribadah, sikap jujur, disiplin, tanggung jawab, peduli dan kerja sama, dalam kegiatan pembelajaran pemrograman lanjut berbasis projek. Kata Kunci: pendidikan karakter, soft skill mahasiswa, pembelajaran berbasis projek THE IMPLEMENTATIONOFCHARACTER EDUCATION IN PROJECT-BASED TEACHING AND LEARNING TO IMPROVE THE STUDENTS’ SOFT SKILLS Abstract: This research aims to apply character education in project-based computer programming course and to improve the students’ soft skills. The design of this study is the classroom action research, with Kurt Lewin’s approach model. This research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects were students of Mechatronics Engineering Education Study Program. The experiment was conducted from April to November 2014. The analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results showed that (1) the implementation of character education in the Advanced Computer Programming course consists of several main aspects, which include the aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning; (2) The students’ soft skill capacity can be enhanced through the development of character values in the forms of acts of worship, honesty, discipline, responsibility, caring and cooperation, in the activities of project-based advanced computer programming course. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, dan mengekplanasi karakter hormat yang terdapat dalam buku pelajaran bahasa Jawa yang digunakan sekolah di Jawa Tengah dan Yogyakarta, khususnya tentang: (1) indikator karakter hormat; (2) proporsi indikator karakter hormat; dan (3) strategi penyajian karakter hormat yang terdapat dalam buku pelajaran bahasa Jawa di SD, SMP, dan SMA di Jawa Tengah dan Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian konten (content analysis). Sumber datanya adalah buku pelajaran bahasa Jawa SD, SMP, dan SMA sebanyak 30 buku. Penyampelan dilakukan dengan teknik interval tiga, yakni setiap halaman kelipatan tiga dicermati menjadi sampel data. Keabsahan data menggunakan teknik kajian berulang, ketekunan/ ketelitian pengamatan, diskusi sejawat. Analisis data diawali dengan memasukkan data dalam carta data. Data deskriptif dan reflektif diinterpretasi, dieksplanasi, dan diinferensi. Hasil penelitian: (1) wujud pendidikan karakter hormat ditengarai oleh indikator (a) honorifik, (b) penghargaan, (c) penghormatan, (d) keramahan, (e) kerukunan, (f) kesopanan, (g) sikap/tata krama, dan (h) bahasa Jawa krama; (2) proporsi pendidikan karakter yang paling tinggi adalah indikator penghargan, diikuti sikap/tata krama, basa krama, penghormatan, kesopanan, keramahan, kerukunan, dan honorifik; dan (3) semakin tinggi sekolah, pendidikan karakter hormat disampaikan semakin abstrak, integratif, polistrategi, dan metaforis, dan semakin rendah sekolah, pendidikan karakter hormat disampaikan semakin konkret, langsung, monostrategis, dan lugas. Kata Kunci: karakter, hormat, Bahasa Jawa CHARACTER EDUCATION OF RESPECT IN THE SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS OF JAVANESE Abstract: This research aims at finding out, describing, and explaining the character of respect found in the school textbooks of Javanese used in Central Java and Yogyakarta, especially on: (1) indicator of character of respect; (2) proportion of the indicator of the character of respect; (3) strategies of presenting the character of respect found in the textbooks of Javanese used in the elementary schools, junior high schools, and senior high schools in Central Java and Yogyakarta. This research uses a content analysis design. The data resources are 30 textbooks of Javanese for the elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. The sampling used a 3-interval technique, i.e., every page of a multiple of 3 is discerned as a data sample. Validity was achieved through repeated reading, careful observation, and peer discussion. Analysis was started by entering the data into the data cards. Descriptive and reflective data were interpreted, explained and inferenced. The research results are: (1) the form of character of respect is indicated by (a) honorifics, (b) appreciation, (c) respect, (d) friendliness, (e) harmony, (f) politeness, (g) good attitude, and (h) use of Javanese of respect; (2) the highest proportion of character education is shown by the indicator of respect, followed by good attitude, language of honor, respect, politeness, friendliness, harmony, and honorifics; and (3) the higher the school level, the character education of respect is presented in a more abstract, integrative, polistrategic, and metaphoric way, and the lower the school level, the character education of respect is presented in a simpler, more concrete, direct, and monostrategic way. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana membangun wawasan global warga negara muda berlandaskan pada nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai karakter bangsa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode grounded theory. Sumber data terdiri dari sumber kepustakaan dan responden yang dipilih dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi dokumentasi dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan analisis induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai karakter bangsa Indonesia harus dijadikan sebagai landasan dalam pengembangan wawasan global warga negara muda. Sila kedua Pancasila menjadi pintu utama pengembangan wawasan global warga negara muda. Pancasila sebagai landasan dalam pengembangan wawasan global warga negara, membawa implikasi bahwa warga negara muda di sekolah tidak hanya menjadikan nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai slogan, melainkan harus diterapkan dan diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: wawasan global, warga negara muda, Pancasila BUILDING A GLOBAL PERPECTIVE OF YOUNG CITIZENS HAVING PANCASILA CHARACTER Abstract: This research aims to find outhow to build a global perspective of young citizens based on the values of Pancasilaas the character of the Indonesian nation. This research used a qualitative approach with a grounded theory method. The data sources consisted of literature and respondents selected using a purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques used documentation and interviews. The data were analyzed using inductive analysis. The results showed that the values of Pancasila as the character of the Indonesian nation must be used as the basis to build a global insight of young citizens. The second pillar of Pancasila became the maingate to building a global insight of young citizens. Pancasila as the basis for building a global insight of young citizens brought the implication that young citizensin the school did not only use the values of Pancasila as a slogan, but must be applied and implemented in their daily lives. Abstract

Abstrak: Penataan ulang kurikulum adalah sebuah kegiatan yang mendesak untuk segera dilaksanakan. Secara eksplisit, landasan yuridis penataan ulang kurikulum diungkapkan dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 dan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 17 Tahun 2010. Pasal 67 Ayat (3) PP 17/2010 merumuskan tujuan pendidikan dasar sebagai membangun landasan bagi berkembangnya potensi peserta didik agar menjadi manusia yang; (1) beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia, dan berkepribadian luhur; (2) berilmu, cakap, kritis, kreatif, dan inovatif; (3) sehat, mandiri, dan percaya diri;dan (4) toleran, peka sosial, demokratis, dan bertanggung jawab. Ketetapan yang dirumuskan pada Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 17 Tahun 2010 ini jelas menunjukkan perlu ada penyempurnaan dan penguatan kurikulum. Penguatan kurikulum dengan pendidikan kewirausahaan tertuang secara jelas dalam Peraturan Pemerintanh No. 5 Tahun 2010 tentang Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (RPJMN) 2010-2014. Pembelajaran aktif menjadi penting dikembangkan karena tertuang dalam Intruksi Presiden Republik Indonesia No. 1 Tahun 2010 tentang percepatan pelaksanaan prioritas pembangunan nasional. Kata Kunci: penguatan kurikulum, pendidikan kewirausahaan, pembelajaran aktif, karakter bangsa STRENGTHENING THE CURRICULUM USING ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION AND ACTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING TO DEVELOP THE NATION’S CHARACTER Abstract: Restructuring the curriculum is an activity that urgently needs execution. Legal basis for restructuring the curriculum is explicitly revealed in Act No. 20 of 2003 and Government Regulation No. 17 of 2010. Article 67 Verse (3) of the Government Regulation formulates the goal of basic education to build the foundation for developing the learners’ potentials so that they can become humans beings who are (1) faithful and devoted to the One and Only God, having noble morality and respectable personality; (2) knowledgeable, intelligent, critical, creative, and innovative; (3) healthy, autonomous, and self-confident; and (4) tolerant, socially sensitive, democratic, and responsible. The decree formulated in the Government Regulation No. 17 of 2010 clearly shows the need for improving and strengthening the curriculum. Strengthening the curriculum by entrepreneurship education is explicitly mentioned in the Government Regulation No. 5 of 2010 on the Middle-Term National Development Plan of 2010-2014. Meanwhile, active teaching and learning needs to be developed as it is written in the Indonesian Presidential Instruction No. 5 of 2010 on the enhancement of the implementation of the national development priorities. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui persepsi dan konsepsi kelompok aliran terhadap nilai-nilai toleransi, moderasi, dan ukhuwah; (2) mengetahui karakter kelompok aliran dalam merespons keberadaan teknologi informasi (TI), khususnya jejaring Islamic Social Networking yang dijadikan pusat dalam memfungsikan media “Forum Konsultasi Bersama”. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisas interaktif. Adapun objek penelitian ini adalah Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, Salafi, Jama’ah Tabligh, dan Lembaga Dakwah Islamiyah Indonesia (LDII). Adapun hasilnya adalah: (1) kelompok aliran keagamaan Islam memiliki karakter lebih mendominankan kelompoknya sendiri dibandingkan dengan kepentingan bersama, terutama jika hal tersebut terkait dengan persoalan yang lebih mendekati ”keagamaan”. Meskipun pandangannya terhadap nilai-nilai toleransi, moderasi, dan ukhuwah sangat baik dan perlu diaplikasikan, tetapi hal itu masih merupakan wacana dan pemikiran; dan (2) karakter kelompok aliran keagamaan Islam dalam merespons terhadap media jejaring sosial Islamic social networking masih kurang antusias. Hal ini terlihat dari kurang pedulinya mereka dalam mengikuti kegiatan sosialisasi maupun terhadap jejaring sosial yang telah dilaunching. Kata Kunci: karakter, jejaring sosial, kelompok aliran, dan toleransi THE CHARACTER OF ISLAMIC SECTS IN RENSPONSE TO ISLAMIC SOCIAL NETWORKING IN BENYUMAS REGENCY Abstract: This study aims to describe (1) the perception and conception of the Islamic sects towards the values of tolerance, moderation and brotherhood; and (2) the character of the Islamic sects in response to the existence of information technology (IT), especially to the social media of Islamic Social Networking used as the center for functioning the media of "Joint Consultation Forum". The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative with an interactive analysis technique. The subjects of this research were: Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Salafi, the Tabligh (preaching) participants, and the Indonesian Islamic Mission Institute (LDII). The results of this research are that: (1) the Islamic sects have the character of giving more priorities to their own group interests compared with the common interests, particularly if they relate to matters concerning the religious affairs. Although their views on the values of tolerance, moderation and brotherhood were very good and worthy of application, but they were still a mere discourse and thinking; and (2) the character of Islamic sects’ response to the social media of Islamic Social Networking still lacked enthusiasm. This could be seen from their in difference in joining the socialization activities and participation in the social networks that have been launched. Abstract

Abstrak: Pembentukan kepribadian manusia (character building) yang seimbang, sehat dan kuat, sangat dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan agama dan internalisasi nilai keagamaan dalam diri peserta didik. Peletakan dasar-dasar pendidikan agama adalah kewajiban orang tua dan juga menjadi tugas guru, masyarakat, dan pemerintah melalui berbagai lembaga pendidikan. Tulisan ini membahas tentang pentingnya pendidikan Al-Quran, pendidikan berbasis Al-Quran, dan pembentukan karakter peserta didik melalui pendidikan. Pendidikan adalah sebuah proses yang tidak berkesudahan yang sangat menentukan karakter bangsa pada masa kini dan masa datang. Apakah suatu bangsa akan muncul sebagai bangsa yang berkarakter baik atau bangsa berkarakter buruk, sangat tergantung pada kualitas pendidikanyang dapat membentuk karakter anak bangsa tersebut. Pembentukan karakter melalui pendekatan pendidikan Al-Quran selain menjadi bagian dari proses pembentukan akhlak mulia, diharapkan mampu menjadi pondasi utama dalam meningkatkan derajat dan martabat peserta didik sebagai anak bangsa. Kata Kunci: karakter, kepribadian, pendidikan al-quran, akhlak, peserta didik LEARNERS’ CHARACTER BUILDING THROUGH AL-QURAN-BASED EDUCATION Abstract: the shaping of balanced, healthy and strong human character (character building) is highly influenced by religious education and the internalization of the religious values within the learners. The laying down of the religious education foundations is the obligation of the parents as well as the task of the teachers, the community, and the government through various educational institutions. This paper discusses the importance of the Al-Quran education, Al-Quran-based education, and the learners’ character building through education. Education is an endless process which determines the nation’s character today and in the future. Whether a nation will emerge as a nation of good or bad character highly depends on the quality of education that shapes the character of the children of the nation. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penanaman nilai tanggung jawab dan kerja sama dan menganalisis hasil belajar mahasiswa mengenai nilai-nilai tanggung jawab dan kerja sama yang dilaksanakan secara terpadu di dalam perkuliahan Ilmu Pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif–naturalistik interpretif. Setting penelitian adalah di Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Jasmani Kesehatan dan Rekreasi (PJKR) Kellas E dan mahasiswa Pendidikan Kepelatihan Olahraga (PKO) Kelas A yang mengambil matakuliah Ilmu Pendidikan. Penentuan subjek penelitian dilakukan secara purposif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi kelas. Keabsahan data diperoleh dengan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses pembelajaran nilai tanggung jawab yang diintegrasikan ke dalam perkuliahan Ilmu Pendidikan telah berjalan baik melalui penugasan kelompok dengan pokok bahasan: Pemikiran dan Karya-karya Tokoh Pendidikan. Proses pembelajaran nilai kerja sama telah berhasil diintegrasikan di dalam perkuliahan Ilmu Pendidikan dengan pokok bahasan: Kompetensi Guru Profesional, dengan metode permainan “Amplop”. Hasil pembelajaran nilai-nilai tanggung jawab dan kerja sama telah sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Subjek mengetahui, merasakan arti penting nilai tanggung jawab dan kerja sama serta melaksanakan nilainilai tersebut dengan berpartisipasi di dalam kelompok. Nilai-nilai pengiring yang muncul selama proses pembelajaran, yaitu nilai keakraban, keluasan wawasan, kreativitas, dan suasana perkuliahan menjadi lebih aktif. Kata Kunci: penanaman nilai, kerja sama, tanggung jawab, pendidikan karakter THE NURTURANCE OF THE VALUES OF RESPOSIBILITY AND COOPERATION INTEGRATED IN THE EDUCATIONAL SCIENCE COURSE Abstract: This research aimed at describing the process of inculcation of the values of responsibility and cooperation, and the students’ learning outcomes on the values of responsibility and cooperation, conducted integratedlyin thecourse of Educational Science (Ilmu Pendidikan). This research employed interpretive qualitative-naturalistic approach. The setting of the research was the Faculty of Sports, Yogyakarta State University. The subjects were allthe students of Class E majoring in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation or Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan dan Rekreasi (PJKR) and the stu- dents of Class A majoring in Sport Coaching Education or Pendidikan Kepelatihan Olahraga (PKO). The subjects were determined purposively. Data were collected through interview and classroom observation. The validity of the data was obtained through the triangulation of the sources and methods. The data were analyzed using the analysis model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the research proved that the teaching and learning process of the value of responsibility integrated in the Educational Science class was well done through group assignments with the topics of: Pemikiran dan Karya-karya Tokoh Pendidikan (Thoughts and Works of Figures in Education). The teaching and learning process of the value of cooperation has been successfully integrated in the Educational Science course under the topic of Professional Teacher’s Competence, using the “Envelope” game technique. The results of the teaching and learning of the values of responsibility and cooperation already met the expected outcomes. The subjects understood and internalized the essence of the values of responsibility and cooperation, and implemented the values by taking part in group activities. Supporting values that emerged during the teaching and learning process were; good rapports, breadth of insights, creativity, and a more active class atmosphere.
