Abstract

Islamic education in schools had not completely assessed the development of students’ character and personality. Therefore, additional religious education through non-formal education and religious practices were needed in Islamic Pre-Schools. It provided a forum to foster, develop, cultivate, and transform the religious value of the students to improve their personality. The purpose of this research was to examine social phenomenon that occur naturally through the facts related to management activities of students. Qualitative research was used in this study where the data taken from head of Islamic pre-school and the school deputy, teacher, staffs, mosque administrators of Baitul Haadi, administrator of the school, staffs of Ministry of Religious Affairs as well as Islamic pre-school inspectors, parents, community leaders, and administrators of professional organizations. The finding showed that students’ management applied in Islamic pre-school through the management functions is able to provide the successful of student’s education and learning implementation. It was also found that student management applied in Islamic pre-school is planning activities of students’ admission process through the administration regularly with various regulations related to the success of education. Thus, it is expected that the government will provide the guidance and implement constant supervision in accordance with applicable regulations.

Abstract

Among the main characteristics of good Muslims, based on the Quran, is good behavior or conduct (akhlaq).  It is a basic Islamic teaching that must be understood, internalized, and practiced in daily lives either personally or in society. It is said that akhlaq is like an endless sea.  It cannot be separated with the other dimensions; it is in accord with thoughts, action and words, between commanding and keeping away of something.  A Muslim counselor has to have Islamic conduct as reflected in God’s characters, as well as character and conducts of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Abstract

Abstrak: Pembentukan kepribadian manusia (character building) yang seimbang, sehat dan kuat, sangat dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan agama dan internalisasi nilai keagamaan dalam diri peserta didik. Peletakan dasar-dasar pendidikan agama adalah kewajiban orang tua dan juga menjadi tugas guru, masyarakat, dan pemerintah melalui berbagai lembaga pendidikan. Tulisan ini membahas tentang pentingnya pendidikan Al-Quran, pendidikan berbasis Al-Quran, dan pembentukan karakter peserta didik melalui pendidikan. Pendidikan adalah sebuah proses yang tidak berkesudahan yang sangat menentukan karakter bangsa pada masa kini dan masa datang. Apakah suatu bangsa akan muncul sebagai bangsa yang berkarakter baik atau bangsa berkarakter buruk, sangat tergantung pada kualitas pendidikanyang dapat membentuk karakter anak bangsa tersebut. Pembentukan karakter melalui pendekatan pendidikan Al-Quran selain menjadi bagian dari proses pembentukan akhlak mulia, diharapkan mampu menjadi pondasi utama dalam meningkatkan derajat dan martabat peserta didik sebagai anak bangsa. Kata Kunci: karakter, kepribadian, pendidikan al-quran, akhlak, peserta didik LEARNERS’ CHARACTER BUILDING THROUGH AL-QURAN-BASED EDUCATION Abstract: the shaping of balanced, healthy and strong human character (character building) is highly influenced by religious education and the internalization of the religious values within the learners. The laying down of the religious education foundations is the obligation of the parents as well as the task of the teachers, the community, and the government through various educational institutions. This paper discusses the importance of the Al-Quran education, Al-Quran-based education, and the learners’ character building through education. Education is an endless process which determines the nation’s character today and in the future. Whether a nation will emerge as a nation of good or bad character highly depends on the quality of education that shapes the character of the children of the nation. Building the noble character through the Al-Quran education approach, other than being part of the process of building the noble character, is expected to become the cornerstone in improving the learners’ status and prestigeas children of the nation. Abstract

This paper discusses the possibilities that Islamic Education needs life system as stated in the Holy Koran. This life system must consist of moral as the central theme. The method used in this study was discourse analysis. The term “ummah” which is social study is known as “kemasyarakatan (social life)” was analyzed through Islamic education so that it results in education conception with social conception. It consists of the issue that every educator needs at least three requirements that must be fulfilled in order to prepare learners to be able to achieve the position as the best people (khairu ummah): amar makruf, nahi munkar, and commitment to be loyal to Allah‟s rules. The objective of the education expected to get the guidance, victory (falah), and save from the torments. The method used was through providing evidences/ arguments, stories, wisdom, mau‟izhah, mujadilah, syufa and ishlah. The educator is the role model in the field and action. Learners are the best people as individual and group.

Abstract

Woman is the object and the target of educational audiences, which inevitably links with educational institutions as the embodiment of moral responsibility, as well as a necessity that can not be ignored. Education of women between 1890 to 1945, held under the Dutch government, and through a national movement, spawned a variety of organizations, to be realized in the form of schools, madrassas and other associations. Abstract

Maraknya berita-berita yang menceritakan tentang kenakalan anak remaja yang lepas control dari orang tuanya, diantara penyebabnya kurang atau tidak adanya kegiatan yang bermanfaat di lingkungannya, sehingga ia mencari kegiatan lain diluar yang berakibat terjerumus ke dalam pergaulan yang tidak baik. Upaya pemerintah untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan pada sisi iman dan takwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa salah satunya diwujudkan dengan diterbitkannya Peraturan Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Islam nomor Dj.I/12A Tahun 2009 tentang Penyelenggaraan Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler Pendidikan Agama Islam pada Sekolah. Dan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 55 tahun 2007 tentang penddikan agama dan Keagamaan. Masyarakat dengan aktif memberdayakan pendidikan melalui berbagai lembaga keagaman melalui mesjid dll. Diantara karakteristik dasar orang beriman dan bertakwa menurut Alquran adalah akhlak, sebagai ajaran dasar agama Islam yang wajib diketahui, dipahami, dihayati, dan diamalkan atau dibiasakan nilai-nilainya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, baik secara pribadi maupun secara sosial. Akhlak itu bagaikan lautan tak bertepi, dia harus sejalan antara pikiran, perbuatan dan perkataan, dalam segala hal. Akhlak terpuji, landasan dalam penentuan keberhasilan seseorang dihadapan Allah. Pembiasan akhlak mulia bagi anak sangat perlu diterapkan sejak dini dalam rangka mencapai tujuan pendidikan, malalui berbagai lembaga pendidikan; informal, formal, dan nonformal. Tulisan ini membahas cara yang dapat dilakukan mencapai tujuan adalah dengan pembiasaan akhlak mulia disetiap lembaga pendidikan, karena disitulah anak berada dan tidak terlepas dari tiga lingkungan tersebut.

Abstract

The study is aimed at looking at students ability in reading Quran and writing the Arabic script of the holy book as well as exploring the Tahsin Al-Quran programme to improve students competence in reading and writing the script of Quran. The methods implemented in the study are both quantitative and qualitative (explanatory mixed methods design). The quantitative data was collected by testing two hundred and eight students in reading and writing the Quran script. The source of the qualitative data was ten informants consist of lecturers and students. The data is obtained through interview. The findings of the study show that (58.70%) students have good ability in reading Quran, (24.50%) students have moderate ability and (16.80%) students have poor ability in reading the holy book. Moreover, (19%) students have good ability in writing the script, (66%) students have moderate ability and the rest (15%) has poor ability in writing the script of the Quran. Related to the Tahsin Quran programme, the interview data shows that there are seven strategic steps conducted by the university to improve students competence in reading Quran. Pursuant to the finding of the study it is revealed that the students competence in reading Quran and writing the script through Tahsin activities can be improved, yet the activities requires to be more well-planned that the outcome of the learning can be better.

Abstract

Moral education has a significant role in shaping the noble character of students. Good morals reflect a noble personality and are the foundation for a dignified civilization. However, many students’ morals still do not follow what is expected in the field. Therefore, this research aims to find and analyze how Islamic Junior High School Baiturrahman Teluk Kuantan builds the noble character of students through moral education. The research method used by the author is a qualitative approach to deepen the understanding of noble character through moral education. These methods can involve interviews, observations, and documentation. Based on the results of the research show that Islamic Junior High School Baiturrahman Taluk Kuantan emphasizes the importance of moral education or character education in developing personality and noble character in students, which includes the development of positive qualities such as honesty, responsibility, respect, tolerance, kindness, and in the end can bring positive benefits to the Islamic Junior High School Baiturrahman extended family.
