Abstract

Learning the visual arts has seen substantial changes as a result of the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the impact of AI utilization on the motivation and creativity of students at SMA Negeri 3 Solok Selatan. Employing a quasi-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest), the investigation implemented a quantitative methodology. A total of 33 students from class XI.8 comprised the research sample. The research instruments comprised a learning motivation questionnaire and a creativity assessment rubric that was based on the characteristics of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Descriptive statistics and paired t-tests were implemented to analyze the data. The results suggest that the utilization of AI has a substantial and beneficial impact on both student motivation and creativity. These results indicate that the incorporation of AI into visual arts education can be a successful pedagogical innovation that enhances the quality of the learning process and student outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant relationship between effective paragraph mastery and the ability to write narrative essays on Class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Batang Toru. The description method was used in conducting this research. The population of this study was all 120 Class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Batang Toru. The research sample was taken using a random sampling technique, which is 25% of the population. So, the sample of this study ranges from 30 students. Then the authors provide the test as a data collection technique. In data analysis, the authors use descriptive analysis techniques and statistical analysis techniques using the Product Moment r formula by Pearson. Descriptive analysis results show that Class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Batang Toru gained 72.16 (good category) in writing narrative essays. Meanwhile students get an average score of 67.00 (enough categories) in effective paragraph mastery. The results of statistical analysis show that the rxy value is greater than the rtablevalue (0.974 > 0.374). Thus, it can be said that the hypothesis in this study can be accepted. This means that there is a significant relationship between the mastery of paragraph requirements and the ability to write narrative essays on Class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Batang Toru.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the reading ability of students in Class IV SDN 100114 Aek Nabara Tobotan through the use of visual media. The research method used is the classroom action research (CAR) method. The subjects of this study were 31 students in Class IV SDN 100114 Aek Nabara Tobotan. To obtain research data, the instruments used were observation sheets and test sheets. In analyzing data, qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques are used by the authors. The results showed the use of visual media can improve students' reading comprehension of Class IV SDN 100114 Aek Nabara Tobotan. This can be seen from the increase found from cycle I to cycle II. In this case, the authors found the average value of students increased from 67.9 to 74.4 or an increase from 61.2% to 80.6%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see whether there is a significant relationship between the mastery of the words with the ability to write narration in Class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Tambusai Utara. The research method used by the author in this research is descriptive method. The population of this study were all Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Tambusai Utara with a total of 233 students. The sample of this study was taken using cluster sampling techniques, namely VII-2 classes, amounting to 40 students. The data collection technique used is to give a test. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis techniques and statistical analysis techniques. From the results of the descriptive analysis, it can be seen that the mastery of the retrospect is 66.87 which belongs to the suficient category. Meanwhile, the ability to write narration is in the good category with a value of 72.75. Then the results of the statistical analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the mastery of words with the ability to write narratives in Class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Tambusai Utara. This can be seen from the results of hypothesis testing, namely the value of rxy is greater than the value of r table or 0.975 > 0.320. In other words, the better the mastery of words in Class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Tambusai Utara, the better the ability to write narration in Class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Tambusai Utara.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to fid out whether there is any significant effect of story map to reading comprehension of narrative text ability at the X grade of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The experimental research method was used to conduct this research. The population was tended to students in the grade X of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan with 175 students. The sample was taken by using cluster sampling and it tended to the X-3 grade of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan with 33 students. Test and observation were used to collect data. In analysis, the writer took descriptive and statistic analyzes by using t-test formula to know interpretation of data. Based on the descriptive analysis, the writer got the students got enough category in reading comprehension of narrative text ability without using story map to get comprehension with 60.00 average. Then the students enough category after using story map to get comprehension with 67.72 averages. In the statistic analysis, tcount was higher than ttable or 4.41 > 2.75. It meant the hypothesis alternative was accepted. Therefore, there was significant effect of story map toward reading comprehension of narrative text ability at the X grade of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a signficant relationship between the mastery of sentence functions with the ability to write essays in Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sosa. The method used by the author to carry out this research is descriptive method. The population of this research is all students of Class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Sosa in the 2014/2015 Academic Year, amounting to 214, in which all students are divided into six classes. The sample of this study was taken using cluster sample techniques of 35 students. The instrument used by the authors to collect data is a test. To analyze the data, the authors used descriptive techniques and statistical analysis techniques, namely the Product Moment by Pearson approach. Descriptive analysis results showed the mean value of students of Class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Sosa was 64.43. That is, the mastery of student sentence functions is still in sufficient criteria. Furthermore, the value of students in writing essays is 66.57. That is, the ability to write student essays is still in sufficient criteria. The results of statistical analysis show that the research hypothesis can be accepted, where the value rxy is greater than the value rt or 0.953 > 0.344. So, there is a signficant relationship between the mastery of sentence functions with the ability to write essays in Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sosa.

Abstract

This research is conducted because it is based on the phenomenon of the many types of errors that occur in students' essays or writings. The purpose of this research is to find and analyze the types of errors contained in the essays of fourth semester students at STAIN Batusangkar and what are the causes of these errors. This research is classified in a qualitative descriptive research. The data in this research is test errors found in student essays. Data is collected through comparisons and contrast essay writing exams and interviews. The data source in this research is English language education students in the fourth semester of 2014/2015 academic year. The findings from this research indicate that the most common types of errors in writing comparisons and contrasts are matching between the subject of a sentence and the verb. And the causes of these types of errors are caused by three factors. The first factor is interlingua transfer. They wrote what they thought is immediately transferred to English. The second factor is intralingua transfer, in this factor many students write English not according to their sentence structure or sentence structure. It can be concluded that the types of errors in writing essays made by English language education students mostly occur in verb phrases. In one sentence can be found that several types of errors made by the student.

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe validity and reliability of instrument on English assessment at Language Centre of IAIN Padangsidiimpuan Program. The descriptive quantitative is kind of research method that used on this research. Subject of this research is the group 5 of Economy of Islamic Business Faculty at IAIN Padangsidimpuan that consisted with 24 students. Data collected from result of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and structure of the students. Method of analysis data is taken by using validity and reliability tests through software SPPS version 16. The result showed that all of indicators on mid-semester test were valid and the instrument is reliable meanwhile in the final-semester test showed reading, writing, listening, speaking were not valid and the structure one was valid and the instruments were not reliable.
