Ruang lingkup jurnal Wahana Islamika mencakup pembahasan mendalam mengenai kajian ilmiah berbasis penelitian dalam tradisi dan disiplin Studi Keislaman. Abstract

This article examines the Islamic da'wah paradigm towards Nyadran local culture in Gendingan Village, Widodaren, Ngawi, using Pierre Bourdieu's habitus theory as an analytical framework. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, involving observation, interview, and literature study. The results showed that Nyadran tradition is a manifestation of integration between Islamic values and local culture, reflecting a harmonious acculturation process. Bourdieu's habitus theory helps understand how Nyadran becomes an integral part of the identity and behavior of the local community. Islamic Da'wah in the area needs to consider local habitus to be well received, respecting local cultural values while maintaining the essence of Islamic teachings. The Nyadran tradition not only functions as a religious ritual, but also as an instrument to strengthen social cohesion and collective identity of the community. An inclusive and contextual da'wah approach has the potential to enrich the meaning of local traditions, making it a medium to bring people closer to Islamic values without losing their cultural identity.

Abstract

The tolerant character of future generations is important in an increasingly heterogeneous society. They must have a vision that is able to work together beyond ethnic and religious differences. This research discusses the understanding and commitment of senior high school students in the city of Pekalongan regarding the universal human values taught in each religion which are the basis for tolerance between humans as creatures. This research tried to find senior high school students’ understanding of the values of "A Common Word" (kalimatussawa) which includes love of God and love of neighbours so the implementation of those understandings with a tolerant attitude and the desire to advance the nation together with believers of other religions. This research also tried to discover how the social structure of the high school community was built through externalization, objectification and internalization. The data was obtained through questionnaires to high school students at MAN Insan Cendekia Pekalongan and SMA N 4 Pekalongan as the main data which was then analysed through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.  The research concluded that high school students in the city of Pekalongan have a very good understanding of “a common word” so implement the values in their daily lives with a strong commitment to advancing the country together with others by prioritizing social welfare. The social structure of senior high school students is greatly influenced by schools from the stages of externalization, objectification to internalization, where schools deliberately create external realities to get the feel of student identities that are humanist, tolerant, progressive.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the ranking patterns of students based on the total scores of knowledge and skills at MI NU Manbaul Huda, Undaan, Kudus. The methodology used is a quantitative descriptive approach with stratified random sampling technique, involving 37, fourth-grade, five-grade and sixth-grade students. Data were collected through questionnaires and score documents, and analyzed using SPSS version 25.0 software. The findings indicate a significant relationship between the total scores of knowledge and skills with students' rankings, where the total knowledge score has a greater influence. The average knowledge score of students is 78.5, while the average skills score is 75.3, indicating a gap in the mastery of practical skills. This study concludes that the existing ranking system needs to be improved to create a balance between the assessment of knowledge and skills, thus encouraging students to excel in both aspects. These findings are expected to provide insights for educators and policymakers in designing a more effective and fair assessment system.

Abstract

Digital generation students grew up with technology as an integral part of everyday life. They have a very different learning style from previous generations. This research aims to answer the challenges of educators in meeting the changing learning characteristics of students in the digital era by describing the process of developing the Kahoot! and its application to learning Islamic Education, so that it can optimize students' learning motivation. The research method used is the sequential mixed method. The data collection technique uses observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation methods using data reduction analysis, data presentation and verification. For quantitative data analysis using the Normality Test and Independent Sample T-Test. The results of this research are the development of the Kahoot! and implementation strategies in learning, as well as showing an increase in students' learning motivation after this application was implemented. This research recommendation is intended as a reference for developing Isalmic education learning applications and to provide a variety of interesting learning atmospheres for students so as to foster interest in learning and high learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving the learning outcomes of students in the Statistics course within the Islamic Education Management program. The implementation of PBL focuses on collaborative problem-solving, which helps develop students' critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental design involving two groups: the experimental group, which is taught using the PBL method, and the control group, which follows conventional learning methods. The students' learning outcomes are measured using pre-tests and post-tests, and the data are analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test statistical tests. The results of the analysis indicate a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the application of PBL, with a significance level of 0.000, suggesting that PBL is better than conventional methods in enhancing students' understanding of statistical concepts. Additionally, the challenges faced in the implementation of PBL include time limitations, the readiness of lecturers, and some students' resistance to changes in the learning approach. This study recommends that PBL could serve as a better alternative for teaching statistics. However, it also emphasizes the need for increased preparation and training for lecturers to optimize its implementation and ensure its effectiveness in the learning process.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a central discourse in contemporary Islamic studies, particularly in plural societies such as Indonesia. This article examines the concept of religious moderation in Bulūg al-Marām by Ibn Ḥajar al-‘Asqalānī through the perspective of mukhtalif al-ḥadīth. The study aims to analyze how seemingly contradictory hadiths in the field of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) contribute to a framework of moderation rather than legal rigidity. Employing qualitative library research with a hadith-based analytical approach, this study focuses on selected hadiths related to purification, worship, and social transactions. The findings demonstrate that Ibn Ḥajar’s presentation of conflicting hadiths reflects methodological moderation through reconciliation (al-jam’ wa al-tawfīq), legal plurality (tanawwu’ al-‘ibādah), and contextual reasoning. These principles not only legitimize juristic diversity but also embody ethical moderation rooted in the Prophetic tradition. This study concludes that Bulūg al-Marām provides a normative-hadith foundation for religious moderation that is highly relevant to contemporary socio-religious contexts.

Abstract

The Qur’an and Hadith do not define marriage guardianship (wali nikah) in a single explicit rule, but present it through verses and narrations emphasizing protection, justice, and women’s consent in marriage. Scholarly differences between those who regard guardianship as a pillar of marriage and those who allow limited autonomy for adult women reflect the flexibility of Islamic law in responding to social change. This article examines marriage guardianship through a thematic–holistic approach to reconstruct Islamic family law and ensure its relevance. The thematic approach analyzes relevant verses and hadiths within their specific contexts, while the holistic approach views the texts as an integrated whole oriented toward the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah). The findings indicate that guardianship is not absolute authority, but a protective and supportive role, limited by women’s welfare, consent, and the prohibition of coercion, in line with regulations in Indonesia and several Muslim countries.

Abstract

This paper examines al-Lama‘at by Said Nursi as a conceptual foundation for the development of Sufistic Behavioral Economics. In contrast to mainstream behavioral economics, which emphasizes cognitive biases, decision heuristics, and bounded rationality, Nursi offers a spiritual-psychological perspective rooted in Qur’anic ethics. The concepts of qana‘ah (contentment), zuhd (detachment from material possessions), and ridha (acceptance) are understood as moral frameworks that shift economic behavior from the pursuit of material utility toward inner satisfaction and spiritual purification. From this perspective, economic decisions reflect an individual’s spiritual condition, value orientation, and moral awareness. Through a hermeneutic analysis of al-Lama‘at, this study formulates a triadic model of “inner-contentment economics” that explains the role of spiritual consciousness in shaping consumption patterns, saving behavior, and attitudes toward risk and uncertainty. By integrating spirituality, psychology, and economic behavior, this study offers a critical alternative to dominant economic paradigms and underscores the centrality of moral objectives in human economic activity.

Abstract

Halal retail is not only determined by certification, but also by the process of negotiating the meaning of halal at the point of sale through labels, claims, seller narratives, and shopping experiences. This research aims to explain how the process shapes consumer trust and loyalty and how traders manage halal credibility. The methods used were qualitative case studies with purposive-snowball sampling, data collection through semi-structured interviews, observation, and document review, and thematic analysis with triangulation and member checking. The results showed that consumers verified halal claims using a combination of formal evidence and social evidence, then adjusted the intensity of verification based on perceived risks and situational context. Merchants build trust through information disclosure, coherent explanations, consistency of service, product curation, and complaint recovery. Stable halal negotiations lower uncertainty, strengthen religious security, and encourage buybacks and recommendations, so loyalty emerges as an accumulation of doubt settlement. These findings underscore the importance of a relational approach in local halal retail governance and loyalty enhancement strategies.

Abstract

This study addresses the need for Islamic Educational Management learning to move beyond conceptual mastery toward action competence through authentic experience. John Dewey’s pragmatism is employed because it positions experience and inquiry at the core of learning, and assesses educational experience through the principles of continuity and interaction. The objectives are to: (1) map Deweyan principles as a foundation for learning by doing in Islamic Educational Management; (2) operationalize the teacher/lecturer role as a facilitator; and (3) formulate a case/project-based learning model along with evaluative indicators. The method is qualitative library research using conceptual-philosophical analysis of Dewey’s primary works and supporting literature on experiential learning and facilitation. The findings indicate that learning becomes more effective when designed as a sequenced set of educational experiences, supported by guided reflection and evaluated using Dewey’s continuity–interaction criteria, preventing projects from becoming “mis-educative” activities
