Abstract

Insects are the most diverse group of organisms on Earth and play a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance. This study aims to examine the role of insects in supporting ecosystem stability and biodiversity. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review of relevant scientific journals, books, and research reports. The results indicate that insects perform essential ecological functions as pollinators, biological control agents, decomposers, and components of food chains. Pollinating insects, such as the honeybee (Apis cerana), play a significant role in enhancing plant reproduction and sustaining ecosystem productivity. In addition, predatory and parasitoid insects contribute to natural pest control, while detritivorous insects support decomposition processes and nutrient cycling. Furthermore, insects serve as important indicators of environmental health. The decline in insect populations due to human activities—including excessive pesticide use, climate change, and habitat destruction—can disrupt ecosystem balance and reduce biodiversity. In conclusion, insects play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem stability. Therefore, conservation efforts and sustainable environmental management are necessary to preserve insect populations and their ecological functions

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection for child victims of sexual violence, its implementation in the case of an elementary school student in Gandus District, and efforts to optimize legal protection for victims. The research employed a normative legal method using statutory and case approaches. Data were collected through a library research technique by examining laws and regulations, books, journals, and other relevant literature. The results indicate that legal protection for child victims of sexual violence is carried out through pre-emptive, preventive, and repressive measures. In the Gandus case, legal protection was implemented through law enforcement against the perpetrator, victim assistance, and psychological recovery efforts. The optimization of legal protection can be achieved through strengthening preventive measures, providing legal aid and victim assistance, and developing integrated services to ensure effective protection and recovery for victims.

Abstract

Divorce does not eliminate the obligation of parents, particularly fathers, to fulfill their children's right to financial support. However, disputes regarding child support after divorce and the limits of the Religious Courts' absolute jurisdiction in resolving such disputes remain common in practice. This study aims to analyze the absolute jurisdiction of the Religious Courts in resolving post-divorce child support disputes and to examine the legal protection of child support rights from the perspectives of Islamic law and Indonesian positive law. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory and conceptual approaches. Data were collected through library research and analyzed qualitatively using a descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate that the Religious Courts have absolute jurisdiction to examine, adjudicate, and decide disputes concerning child support rights as part of matrimonial matters. Child support rights are protected under both Islamic law and Indonesian positive law and remain the responsibility of the father even after divorce. Nevertheless, their implementation continues to face various obstacles, including non-compliance by obligated parties, weak enforcement mechanisms, and economic constraints. Therefore, strengthening legal enforcement and optimizing the role of the Religious Courts are necessary to ensure the effective protection and fulfillment of children's support rights.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze fabricated alibis as a form of obstruction of justice in homicide cases through the case study of the murder of a junior high school student in Palembang in 2024. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. Data were collected through library research involving legislation, legal literature, and relevant scholarly works. The findings indicate that a fabricated alibi constitutes the provision of false information intended to conceal facts and hinder the law enforcement process. From the perspective of Indonesian criminal law, such conduct can be classified as obstruction of justice because it interferes with investigations, prosecutions, and court proceedings. The murder case of the junior high school student in Palembang demonstrates that efforts to conceal evidence through fabricated alibis can obstruct the search for material truth. Therefore, firm law enforcement against both homicide perpetrators and individuals involved in obstructing judicial processes is necessary to ensure justice and legal certainty.
