Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital leadership, empowerment, and job crafting on sustainable performance through psychological ownership at the Community and Village Empowerment Agency (DPMG) of Pidie Regency. The research was motivated by public-sector performance challenges related to uneven digital transformation, limited human resources, and the need to strengthen employees' sense of ownership toward organizational goals. A quantitative explanatory design was applied. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to the entire population of 34 employees and government-contract employees at DPMG Pidie Regency. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The measurement model showed acceptable convergent validity and reliability after two psychological ownership indicators were eliminated. The structural model indicated that job crafting had a positive and significant effect on sustainable performance (O = 0.700; t = 2.182; p = 0.030) and psychological ownership (O = 1.197; t = 2.254; p = 0.025). Psychological ownership also had a positive and significant effect on sustainable performance (O = 0.585; t = 6.597; p = 0.000). In contrast, digital leadership and empowerment did not significantly influence either psychological ownership or sustainable performance. The indirect-effect test confirmed that psychological ownership significantly mediated only the relationship between job crafting and sustainable performance. These findings suggest that sustainable performance in local public organizations is more strongly supported by proactive work redesign and employees' psychological attachment than by formal digital leadership or empowerment practices that have not yet been internalized.

Abstract

This study investigates whether regional economic performance influences electoral margins in local elections in Indonesia. Drawing on Economic Voting Theory, the study examines the effects of economic growth, poverty, and income inequality on candidate margins of victory while controlling for incumbency and political party affiliation. Using panel data from 508 districts and municipalities for 2017–2024, the study employs a fixed-effects model with cluster-robust standard errors and robustness checks using lagged economic indicators. The results provide limited evidence supporting Economic Voting Theory. Economic growth, poverty, and income inequality do not significantly influence electoral margins. Further robustness analysis confirms that lagged economic conditions also fail to explain electoral outcomes. Conversely, incumbency has a strong positive effect on margins of victory, indicating a substantial incumbency advantage in local elections in Indonesia. Political party affiliation also has a positive effect on electoral performance, albeit with weaker statistical significance. These findings suggest that local election competition in Indonesia is driven more by political factors than by retrospective evaluations of economic performance. This study contributes to the literature by highlighting the contextual limitations of Economic Voting Theory in decentralized democracies and developing countries.

Abstract

This article analyzes the influence of the capital market on small business actors in East Jakarta using a Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The study focuses on five constructs: capital market literacy, capital market access/participation, business investment readiness, alternative financial inclusion, and small business performance. The quantitative data used in this article are simulated survey data from 220 small business actors in East Jakarta using a 1-5 Likert scale; the data were prepared to provide an example of an SEM analysis design and must be replaced with field data if the article is to be published as empirical research. The test results show that capital market literacy has a positive effect on capital market access/participation (β = 0.513; p < 0.001) and business investment readiness (β = 0.516; p < 0.001). Capital market access/participation and business investment readiness also have positive effects on alternative financial inclusion, while alternative financial inclusion is the strongest predictor of small business performance (β = 0.318; p < 0.001). These findings affirm that the capital market should not only be understood as an investment facility for large companies, but also as an ecosystem of financing, literacy, networking, and governance discipline that can strengthen the competitiveness of small businesses. The article recommends strengthening community-based capital market education for small businesses, assisting business actors in preparing financial reports, expanding access to securities crowdfunding, and integrating capital market programs with regional small business empowerment policies.

Abstract

This study examines how work life conflict affects innovative behaviour through psychological capital, leader member exchange, and resistance to change among telecommuting employees in an Indonesian general insurance company. The study responds to the growing relevance of flexible work, digital collaboration, and employee innovation in contemporary organisations. A quantitative explanatory design was employed using survey data from 211 permanent employees. The data were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling with SmartPLS. The results show that work life conflict negatively affects psychological capital, leader member exchange, and innovative behaviour, while positively affecting resistance to change. Psychological capital positively affects innovative behaviour and leader member exchange, while reducing resistance to change. Leader member exchange positively affects innovative behaviour and negatively affects resistance to change. Resistance to change negatively affects innovative behaviour. The mediation results confirm that psychological capital, leader member exchange, and resistance to change mediate the relationship between work life conflict and innovative behaviour. In addition, psychological capital and leader member exchange serially mediate this relationship. These findings indicate that employee innovation in telecommuting contexts is shaped by interconnected psychological, relational, and change related mechanisms. The study contributes to human resource management by highlighting the importance of reducing work life conflict, strengthening psychological capital, improving supervisor employee relationships, and managing resistance to change to sustain innovative behaviour.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing Generation Z’s preference for illegal streaming platforms by examining financial, security, accessibility, and social environment within a digital environment. A quantitative approach was applied using structured questionnaires distributed to individuals with experience in accessing illegal streaming services. The results indicate that financial, accessibility, and social environment have a positive influence on user preferences, highlighting the importance of affordability, ease of use, and strong social exposure in shaping consumption behavior. In contrast to traditional assumptions, security does not discourage usage but instead shows a positive effect, suggesting that perceived risks are increasingly normalized among users. This indicates that repeated exposure and familiarity reduce concerns over potential threats. The study concludes that the preference for illegal streaming platforms reflects a rational decision-making process based on perceived benefits rather than ethical considerations. These findings provide practical insights for service providers and policymakers to develop more competitive, accessible, and user-centered strategies to address the growing appeal of illegal streaming platforms.

Abstract

Academic fraud is a serious issue that has the potential to undermine professional integrity, particularly in the field of accounting. This study adapts the Fraud Hexagon theory to understand the factors contributing to fraud in higher education settings. This study aims to analyze the influence of the six dimensions of the Fraud Hexagon pressure, ability, collusion, opportunity, rationalization, and ego on the propensity for academic fraud among accounting students in Bandar Lampung. A quantitative study using a cross-sectional survey design. A sample of 157 final-year accounting students from several universities in Bandar Lampung was selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected via a Google Forms questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 25 after testing the classical assumptions. The regression results indicate that rationalization, ability, and collusion have a positive and significant effect on academic dishonesty, whereas pressure, opportunity, and ego do not. This study also makes an empirical contribution by presenting evidence based on local data from accounting students. This is important because most previous research has been dominated by non-academic contexts or different regions; thus, the findings of this study strengthen its external validity within the context of higher education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid development of social commerce has shifted consumer shopping behavior, particularly among Generation Z in the beauty industry. This study aims to examine the effect of content marketing and live streaming on purchase decisions, with brand awareness as a mediating variable for Camille Beauty products on the TikTok platform. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 100 Generation Z respondents in Indonesia selected through purposive sampling, specifically users who had made a purchase after being exposed to the brand's promotional content and live broadcasts. Primary data were collected via online questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1.1 software. The findings demonstrate that content marketing and live streaming have a positive and significant direct effect on both brand awareness and purchase decisions. Furthermore, brand awareness significantly mediates the relationship between these two digital marketing strategies and the purchase decision. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Camille Beauty optimize its content strategy by presenting more up-to-date product information, provide capacity-building training for live stream hosts to be more interactive and responsive to the audience, and strengthen brand identity to drive higher sales conversions.

Abstract

This study investigates the structural relationship between sustaining innovation, strengthening village financial management, and good village governance in Kerinci Regency, Indonesia. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with data collected from 285 villages across 18 districts, the analysis reveals that strengthening financial management does not significantly influence sustaining innovation (β = 0.061, R² = 0.004), indicating that improvements in transparency, accountability, and efficiency alone are insufficient to enhance innovation capacity within village institutions. Likewise, the direct effect of financial management on governance performance remains marginal (β = 0.059). In contrast, sustaining innovation demonstrates a strong and significant impact on good village governance (β = 0.459, R² = 0.218), confirming that continuous improvement, capability enhancement, and service quality constitute the primary drivers of governance transformation. At the indicator level, transparency (λ = 1.092) and efficiency (λ = 0.969) emerge as the most dominant components of financial management, while capability enhancement (λ = 1.015) and service quality (λ = 0.931) are the strongest indicators shaping sustaining innovation. Overall, the findings underscore the centrality of innovation as the key determinant of village governance quality, exceeding the influence of financial administrative mechanisms. These results provide crucial policy implications, particularly in strengthening human resource capacity, accelerating digital transformation, and institutionalizing innovation-based governance frameworks in rural settings.
