Abstract

The low level of students’ numeracy literacy in Indonesian primary education remains a crucial issue affecting the quality of learning outcomes and problem-solving abilities. This study aims to explore and analyze teachers’ strategies in enhancing numeracy literacy among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Huda Ngasem, Bojonegoro. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research involved three teachers, one principal, and six students as participants, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teachers implement various strategies such as contextual learning, integration of numeracy into daily life, use of visual and digital media, and cross-disciplinary approaches. These strategies effectively improve students’ engagement, motivation, and understanding of numerical concepts. However, challenges remain in terms of varying student readiness, limited resources, and low parental involvement. To overcome these obstacles, teachers continuously engage in professional collaboration and involve parents through community-based numeracy programs. The study concludes that the success of numeracy literacy enhancement depends on consistent teacher innovation, institutional support, and active collaboration among educational stakeholders. Strengthening these aspects can significantly contribute to the development of analytical, logical, and problem-solving competencies among students in the context of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in fostering students’ discipline and responsibility through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research synthesizes findings from various empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025, focusing on how teachers design, implement, and reflect upon character education practices in primary and secondary schools. The results reveal that teachers play a central role as moral exemplars, facilitators, and designers of value-based learning environments. Effective strategies include modeling positive behavior, establishing consistent classroom routines, and promoting reflective and participatory learning activities. However, challenges such as limited time allocation, policy-practice gaps, and lack of institutional support hinder the sustainability of character education. The review also highlights the growing importance of digital literacy and ethical engagement in fostering responsibility in the modern learning context. Overall, this study emphasizes that teachers’ moral integrity, pedagogical innovation, and systemic collaboration are crucial in developing students’ discipline and responsibility as integral components of holistic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Scout activities in strengthening the values of nationalism and leadership at MTs Al Yakin. The background of this research stems from the phenomenon of declining patriotic spirit and leadership among students in the digital era, which necessitates a character education platform capable of fostering these values in a tangible way. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving Scout instructors, students, and the head of the madrasah. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the processes of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that Scout activities contribute significantly to instilling discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and a sense of nationalism. Additionally, activities such as flag ceremonies, marching drills, and community service help develop students’ leadership character. The main factors contributing to the success of these activities include the active role of the instructors, support from the madrasah, and consistent student participation. Thus, Scout activities at MTs Al Yakin can serve as a model for character development in nationalism and leadership for students at the madrasah level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of school religious activities in strengthening students’ spiritual character and empathy at MTs Islahiyah Kalitidu. The background of this research stems from the phenomenon of weakening spiritual character and low social empathy among students, which requires an educational approach based on religious values. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, as well as documentation of school religious activities such as congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation (tadarus), regular Islamic studies, and religious social activities. The results show that religious activities play an important role in instilling spiritual values such as faith, honesty, patience, and sincerity, while also fostering social empathy through practices of sharing, caring, and helping among students. Teachers and mentors contribute significantly as role models in developing these characters through humanistic and contextual approaches. Moreover, the religious and participatory school environment serves as a key supporting factor in the successful internalization of character values.

Abstract

This study examines the development of children’s sense of responsibility through the combined and complementary roles of parents and schools. Responsibility is a core moral character that requires consistent guidance, modeling, and reinforcement across multiple environments. Parents act as the primary moral educators by demonstrating responsible behavior, providing clear expectations, fostering open communication, and ensuring consistency between household rules and broader social norms. Such parental practices cultivate intrinsic motivation and moral reasoning in children, allowing them to act responsibly even without direct supervision. Schools, as structured and socially interactive environments, serve as secondary yet essential platforms for reinforcing responsibility. Through formal curricula, extracurricular activities, classroom management, and a supportive moral climate, schools provide practical opportunities for children to apply moral knowledge, develop accountability, and internalize socially shared standards. The study highlights that the highest effectiveness in character formation is achieved when parents and schools collaborate harmoniously. Open communication, joint programs, and aligned values between family and educational institutions create a coherent moral ecosystem, preventing inconsistencies that could confuse children’s moral development. Cultural and religious contexts, particularly in Indonesia, further enrich this process by linking moral responsibility to spiritual and communal obligations. Overall, this study emphasizes that sustainable character education requires the integration of family, schools, and local cultural values, transforming responsibility from a taught concept into a lived habit that shapes both personal and social conduct.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by the head of the madrasah in managing internal conflicts among educators at Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Al-Fattah Bojonegoro. The research utilized a qualitative field approach with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with verification. The findings reveal that the types of conflicts occurring at SMK Al-Fattah include personal, role-based, and structural conflicts, which stem from differences in personality, internal policies, and organizational dynamics. The head of the madrasah implements conflict resolution strategies through consultation (musyawarah), exemplary leadership (uswah hasanah), open communication, and individual mediation. This approach is grounded in Islamic values such as shura (consultation), ‘adl (justice), and ukhuwah (brotherhood), making the resolution process not only administrative but also spiritual and educational in nature. The implementation of these strategies has led to improved workplace harmony, increased teacher motivation, and the development of a more conducive and religious organizational climate. This study emphasizes that the head of the madrasah, as an Islamic educational leader, plays a strategic role in integrating spiritual values with managerial professionalism to create a peaceful, productive, and just educational environment.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges faced by Islamic educational institutions in the digital era, where teachers are required to adapt to technological developments without neglecting spiritual values in the learning process. The main problem identified is the low performance of teachers in utilizing educational technology and developing innovative learning, partly influenced by the lack of visionary and transformational leadership at the principal level. This study aims to analyze how the transformational leadership of the school principal can improve teacher performance at MI Fattahul Huda Pungpungan. The research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design, using in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The findings show that the principal applies four dimensions of transformational leadership: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Through the application of these values, the principal is able to build motivation, enhance professionalism, and encourage teachers to innovate in digital-based learning. Furthermore, the religious and moral values instilled by the principal reinforce teachers’ integrity and work ethic. The implications of this study emphasize that transformational leadership grounded in Islamic values is not only relevant for addressing the challenges of the digital era but also effective in creating a collaborative, innovative, and integrity-driven work culture within Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

This research is motivated by issues in human resource (HR) management in Islamic educational institutions, which still face challenges in aspects of planning, competency development, and the integration of Islamic values into managerial practices. Many Islamic educational institutions do not yet have a directed, sustainable HR management system that aligns with the demands of the modern era, resulting in low professionalism among educators and overall institutional effectiveness. This study uses a library research method by analyzing literature related to modern HR management theory, particularly Gary Dessler's theories, and linking them to management principles from an Islamic perspective. The findings indicate that effective HR planning, sustainable development strategies, and the integration of Islamic spiritual values are key factors in improving the performance of Islamic educational institutions. In addition, the application of the strategic human resource management concept combined with the values of trustworthiness, justice, and excellence can create a professional, ethical, and quality-oriented management system. The implications of this research emphasize that Islamic educational institutions need to develop a human resource management model based on Islamic values that is adaptive to changes in the times, in order to produce educators who are not only academically competent but also possess high moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing use of social media among students of STAI KH. Muhammad Ali Shodiq, which has not yet been fully optimized as a learning resource. Although social media holds great potential in supporting digital learning, several problems persist, such as low levels of digital literacy, a lack of lecturer guidance in academic use of social media, and a tendency among students to focus more on entertainment rather than educational content. This study aims to analyze students’ patterns of social media use, the types and forms of educational content utilized, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors within the context of modern Islamic learning. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving active students from various study programs. The findings reveal that social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp have become effective alternative learning sources, particularly in enhancing students’ understanding of Islamic materials and academic communication. Students have also begun to act as producers of simple educational content, although they still face challenges in information curation and maintaining digital learning discipline. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of the role of lecturers and institutions in integrating social media into Islamic value-based learning strategies to foster a reflective, creative, and digitally literate learning culture.
