Abstract

The implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka at SD Negeri 2 Bakan requires a paradigm shift in lesson planning, moving from a "one-size-fits-all" approach to differentiated instruction. Central to this shift is the effective use of cognitive diagnostic assessments to map students' diverse learning readiness. This study aims to analyze the process and impact of utilizing cognitive diagnostic assessment results in designing differentiated teaching modules (Modul Ajar) for fourth-grade students. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects are the fourth-grade teacher and students at SD Negeri 2 Bakan. Data were collected through deep interviews, classroom observations, and documentation analysis of diagnostic results and teaching modules. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that diagnostic results allow for three types of differentiation: content, process, and product. By understanding students' initial cognitive levels, teachers could design role-play and discourse analysis activities tailored to students' sociocultural backgrounds. Integrating diagnostic data into differentiated modules bridges the gap between students' initial abilities and the required communicative competencies, fostering a more inclusive and effective learning environment.

Abstract

The prevalence of verbal bullying in inclusive educational settings remains a critical challenge that impacts students' psychological and academic development. This study aims to examine the relationship between verbal bullying, self-confidence, and learning motivation among students in inclusive primary and secondary schools through a sociolinguistic lens. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach. Data were collected through the systematic searching and analysis of academic documents, including scientific journals, books, and proceedings from databases such as Google Scholar. The data analysis used thematic content analysis to identify patterns, concepts, and key findings regarding the impact of linguistic interaction on student behavior. The results indicate that sociolinguistic-based interventions, such as authentic discourse analysis, role-playing simulations, and discussions on language variation, can be effectively implemented to mitigate bullying. These approaches have a positive impact on students' understanding of language registers, politeness, and context-appropriate communication. Furthermore, there is a significant improvement in students' pragmatic and sociocultural competence, which directly correlates with increased self-confidence and learning motivation. This study concludes that sociolinguistic serves as a vital bridge between linguistic knowledge and practical communication skills. Integrating this approach is essential for preparing students for real-world social interactions while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Abstract

Language is a fundamental social phenomenon, inherently connected to the community that uses it. In the context of primary education at SDN 2 Bakan, the challenge lies in bridging the gap between basic linguistic knowledge and practical communicative skills. Traditional methods often fail to capture the sociocultural nuances of language, leading to students who may understand grammar but struggle with contextual appropriateness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of a sociolinguistic-based approach using interactive animation videos to enhance students' communicative competence and listening skills. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach. Data were collected through the search and analysis of academic documents, including scientific journals, books, and proceedings from databases such as Google Scholar. The data were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify key patterns and concepts.Findings indicate that interactive animation videos allow for authentic discourse analysis, role-play simulations, and discussions on language variation. This approach has a positive impact on students' understanding of language registers, politeness, and contextual usage, ultimately improving their pragmatic and sociocultural competencies. Sociolinguistics acts as a vital bridge between linguistic theory and practical communication. Integrating this approach is essential for preparing primary school students for real-world social interactions.

Abstract

Language is a social phenomenon that reflects values, beliefs, and cultural practices within a community. In the context of sports games in elementary schools, the meanings of “winning” and “losing” are not merely competitive outcomes but also represent social and moral constructs shaped through interaction. A sociolinguistic perspective enables deeper understanding of how students interpret and express these meanings in social contexts. This article aims to examine how sociolinguistic approaches can be implemented in language learning to explore elementary students’ understanding of winning and losing in sports games and to analyze their impact on communicative competence. This study employed a descriptive qualitative design using a literature review approach. Data were collected through systematic searches and analysis of academic documents (journal articles, books, and conference proceedings) from databases such as Google Scholar. The data were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify recurring patterns, key concepts, and significant findings. The findings indicate that sociolinguistic approaches can be implemented through authentic discourse analysis, role-play simulations, and discussions of language variation. These strategies enhance students’ understanding of language variation, register, politeness, and context-appropriate language use. Furthermore, such approaches improve students’ pragmatic and sociocultural competence.Sociolinguistics serves as a bridge between linguistic knowledge and practical communication skills, emphasizing its importance in preparing students for real-life communicative situations.

Abstract

Language learning is not merely the acquisition of grammatical knowledge but also the development of communicative competence within social contexts. In elementary schools, Indonesian language instruction often emphasizes structural aspects, while pragmatic and sociocultural dimensions receive limited attention. The integration of interactive PowerPoint-based media offers opportunities to contextualize language use, promote authentic discourse analysis, and foster students’ communicative awareness. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of interactive PowerPoint-based media in Indonesian language learning, particularly in integrating sociolinguistic principles to enhance students’ communicative competence. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design with a literature review approach. Data were collected through systematic searches of academic documents (journal articles, books, and conference proceedings) from databases such as Google Scholar. The collected sources were analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify recurring concepts, implementation models, and key findings. The findings indicate that interactive PowerPoint media can facilitate authentic discourse analysis, role-play simulations, and discussions on language variation and politeness strategies. Such approaches positively influence students’ understanding of language variation, register, context-appropriate language use, pragmatic awareness, and sociocultural competence.Sociolinguistic-based interactive learning through PowerPoint serves as a bridge between linguistic knowledge and real-life communication skills, preparing students to engage effectively in diverse social contexts.
