Abstract

The implant, also known as a subcutaneous contraceptive rod, contains levonorgestrel (two-rod implant) and etonosgestrel (one-rod implant). Implant contraception has many advantages, but many acceptors are reluctant to do it because they are afraid and anxious about the installation. This contraceptive is 99.8% effective and has a lifespan of 3 years. The first-year failure rate is between 0.2 and 0.5 per woman, making it effective in preventing pregnancy and subsequently controlling population growth. One of the effective non-pharmacological treatments for overcoming anxiety is progressive muscle relaxation therapy and aromatherapy lavender. Progressive muscle relaxation can produce the hormone epinephrine so it can reduce anxiety. Lavender aromatherapy functions to create a relaxing effect so it can reduce anxiety.Based on the research journal of Masdiana & Phonna (2023) and Dewi dkk (2024), both of these treatments are very effective in reducing anxiety because they both function relaxing effect. The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental study with a one group pretest posttest design. The Wilcoxon test results indicate that progressive muscle relaxation and lavender aromatherapy have an effect on anxiety in prospective contraceptive implant recipients at the Kandeman Batang Community Health Center. It is hoped that the results of this study will be useful for reducing anxiety of prospective KB implant acceptors.

Abstract

Preschool children experience the greatest developmental growth compared to later age groups. In Indonesia, approximately 14,228,917 children are in the developmental age range, and around 10% experience delays in motor development. Preliminary observations found that many preschool-aged children were not yet able to control pencils/crayons properly and were unable to draw straight lines, although these skills should have been achieved according to developmental milestones. To prevent developmental problems, particularly in fine motor skills, finger painting can be introduced as an innovative stimulation method. This study aimed to analyze the effect of finger painting on the adaptive fine motor development of preschool children aged 5–6 years at Al-Azam Kindergarten, Tembalang District. A quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach.Eighteen children were selected using purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria. The sample size represented the accessible population that met the study criteria at the research site. The intervention was conducted for two weeks in six sessions. Child development was assessed using a developmental screening instrument. The mean fine motor score increased from 7.94 to 9.06 with a p-value of 0.001. The findings indicate that finger painting improved fine motor development by stimulating children's interest, enthusiasm, imagination, creativity, understanding of shapes and colors, and engagement in artistic activities. Finger painting improved children's creativity, interest, and hand movement coordination. It can be concluded that finger painting significantly influences the adaptive fine motor development of preschool children aged 5–6 years.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Background: Perineal wound pain is a common problem in postpartum women caused by stitches due to perineal tears. Perineal stitches are experienced by 85% of women who give birth vaginally. Perineal wound pain can interfere with comfort and the healing process of perineal wounds. PEBALAV (Perineal Bath and Lavender Oil)  is a non-pharmacological therapy that can reduce pain through a relaxing effect and by increasing blood circulation as well as cleaning and caring for perineal wounds. Purpose: to determine the effect of PEBALAV (Perineal Bath and Lavender Oil) in reducing perineal pain in postpartum mothers in the Ngawen Community Health Center area. Method: Quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 60 postpartum women who delivered in the Ngawen Community Health Center area during March–April 2026. The sample consisted of 30 postpartum mothers in the Ngawen Community Health Center area, Blora Regency. The research instrument used was the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for pain assessment. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. Results: The average perineal pain score was 4.3, or moderate, before the PEBALAV (Perineal Bath and Lavender Oil) intervention, and the average perineal pain score was 2.13 after the intervention. Postpartum women experienced an average pain reduction of 2.17 after receiving the PEBALAV (Perineal Bath and Lavender Oil) intervention. There was an effect of PEBALAV (Water and Lavender Oil Soak) on reducing perineal pain in postpartum women at the Ngawen Community Health Center (PHC) with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: PEBALAV (Perineal Bath and Lavender Oil)) therapy has an effect on reducing perineal pain in postpartum women.
