Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that occurred several years ago caused changes in lifestyle and supplement consumption patterns by the public. This increase in consumption patterns causes the need for awareness regarding supplement storage so that the quality of supplements is maintained. This Community Service (PkM) activity was carried out for 85 community members in the Duren Sawit Village area. The aim of this PkM activity is to increase public knowledge regarding storing supplements properly and correctly through administering pretest and posttest questionnaires. The success of the PkM program is measured through an increase in the posttest questionnaire score. Keywords: Covid-19, Storing supplements, Questionnaire

Abstract

abuse. Whether it’s medicine that has been prescribed by a doctor because of illness, or medicine that people get on their own initiative. Mistakes in drug use can certainly have a fatal impact on consumers, especially when using over-the-counter and limited over-the counter drugs. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge of the people of the Duren Sawit Village area regarding the use of over-the-counter and limited over-the counter drugs. The method used is through counseling and administering pretest and posttest questionnaires. The results obtained were an increase in the average community knowledge score. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the outreach carried out is able to increase public knowledge.

Abstract

In order to meet the public's need for medicines and ensure access to medicines for the entire community, the government issued a generic medicine pricing policy. The consumer protection law regulates how consumers have the right to obtain information about a product to be consumed, as well as consumers of medicinal products. Information in the form of the Highest Retail Price (HET), the ingredients contained in the drug, the efficacy of the drug, the side effects of the drug, and the authenticity of a drug is a consumer's human right. The aim of this community service activity is to provide public knowledge regarding the Highest Retail Price (HET) of drugs so that the public as consumers are protected from business actors who sell drugs above the Highest Retail Price (HET) for drugs and the public has clear access to information about a drug. The activities carried out are in the form of direct outreach or counseling to the community. The preparatory activities carried out included preparation of the socialization venue, coordination meetings, preparation, implementation and evaluation of activities. The location of this activity was at Kp. Gulusur RT 01 RW 08, Gunung Sindur District, Bogor Regency, West Java, attended by 59 participants, consisting of lecturers, students and Public. From the results of implementing this community service activity, the public knows the Retail Price of Medicines (HET) and understands the applicable regulations regarding this matter. The response of the local community to the community service activities that we carry out is very enthusiastic. In general, in socializing the importance of the public knowing the highest retail price of a drug.

Abstract

Many snacks sold around schools are generally unsafe. Colorings, sweeteners and preservatives are types of food additives. These additional ingredients are often found in every snack food sold around the campus or around the school environment. Based on a survey conducted by the team before the service event was held, in SMA N 1 Gubug there were still many foods and drinks being sold that were suspected to contain dangerous BTP. This is what prompted the service to carry out an outreach event related to the dangers of prohibited food additives for the health of SMA N 1 Gubug students. The outreach event was attended by 34 students, 19 women and 34 men. The results of the service event showed an increase in pretest and posttest service points by 40 points. It is hoped that students will gain additional knowledge about the dangers of BTP for health and improve their snack patterns in the future.

Abstract

Gendola leaves are widely used as a traditional medicine for appendicitis, dysentery, influenza, bladder inflammation, measles and chicken pox, bruises, gout and hemorrhoids, healing internal and external wounds after surgery and anti-diabetic. Community service was carried out at the Al-Musafirin religious study assembly in Bengkulu City. The aim of this PkM is to provide education and knowledge to the women of the Al-Musafirin study taklim assembly about the benefits of gendola herbal tea leaves. The method used in this PkM activity is counseling to the group of recitation women at the Al-Musafirin mosque, which begins with how to make gendola herbal tea leaves, namely the ingredients for making herbal tea: Tea casings, Dried Gendola (Basella alba L) leaves 5 g , Dried jasmine flowers 25 g and how to serve gendola leaf herbal tea and its benefits. The results of this community service activity are a form of sharing knowledge from lecturers and students of STIKES Al-Fatah Bengkulu to the Al-Musafirin study group in Bengkulu City. Abstract

Study of the formulation of handwash liquid soap containing grape extract (Vitis viniveraa L.). Community service aims to produce a stable formulation of liquid hand washing soap containing grape extract (Vitis vinivera L.). This community service is carried out at SMK PGRI 2 Cimahi. This process was carried out using several storage methods, namely organoleptic parameters, pH test and foam test. Organoleptic test analysis on the first day of making hand washing liquid soap for up to 7 days and still in good condition and the last one is the foam test, hand washing liquid soap on the 7th day it still had thick foam. Therefore, it can be said that hand washing soap containing grape extract (Vitis vinivera L.) is good and stable because it gets maximum results.

Abstract

There have been changes in people’s behavior since Covid-19 to prevent the spread of Covid-19. People are starting to realize the importance of consuming health supplements as a way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. However, this is still not in line with increasing public awareness of supplement storage. Storage of supplements that do not meet the standards can reduce their stability. This is the background for Community Service (PkM) activities in the Penggilingan Village area. Community Service activities were carried out through presentation of material to 74 residents from several RW. The results of data processing show an increase in community knowledge after the outreach was held, which was measured using pre-test and post-test scores. Abstract

Even though much progress has been achieved in TB control in Indonesia, there are still many challenges, including the increase in TB co-infection, management weaknesses and continuity of funsing for TB control programs. One of the reasons for this is patients’ non-compliance with treatment. Non-compliance with treatment will result in a high rate of treatment failure for pulmonary TB sufferers. Directly Observed Therapy Short course (DOTs) is a treatment strategy for detection and cure of tuberculosis. Medication monitoring (PMO) is one of the strategies of DOTs. The aim of Community Service (PkM) activities in Penggilingan Village is to educate the role of the environment for TB sufferers in an effort to increase treatment compliance for pulmonary TB patients. The PkM activity was attended by 32 residents in the Penggilingan Village area. The results of the PkM activities found that the counseling carried out was able to increase knowledge of the role of the TB sufferer’s environment in an effort to increase compliance with pulmonary TB treatment.

Abstract

Myalgia is a term for muscle pain. Myalgia originates from Greek, where "myo" means muscle and "algos" means pain. Muscle pain is a common ailment among the general public. The symptoms and location of muscle pain vary from person to person, depending on the activity and the cause of the muscle pain itself. The prevalence of myalgia ranges from 50-62% of the total population worldwide. In Indonesia, the prevalence of myalgia sufferers ranges from 45-59%. Myalgia arises from excessive muscle activity. This can be reduced by substituting chemicals with natural ingredients, one of which is the Chamomile plant. Chamomile is known as an herbal remedy for treating diseases. The Chamomile plant contains apigenin, which functions like benzodiazepine, providing a hypnotic effect by binding to GABA A receptors in the central nervous system, thereby inducing a sedative effect and causing muscle relaxation. The aromatherapy roll-on is made by measuring the ingredients according to the formula. This community service activity was carried out at SMK PGRI 2 Cimahi, with 21 students participating. The results of the counseling activities were beneficial in increasing the students' knowledge.

Abstract

Stunting is a significant problem that requires attention as it is linked to cognitive and motor skills, as well as overall performance. One approach to preventing stunting is to enhance public knowledge through education for pregnant women and mothers with toddlers. The method used for distributing leaflets involves explaining the content and engaging in question and answers sessions with the participants. The target audience for this counseling session is pregnant women and mothers with children under five. The event took place on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at RW 010, Krobokan, West Semarang. The counseling session was successful in reaching its objectives and was well-received. Participants were able to grasp the material and enhance their understanding of stunting.
