Aim and Scope Tasqif: Journal of Islamic Pedagogy aims to advance the understanding and practice of Islamic education worldwide. The journal focuses on various aspects of Islamic education, ranging from teaching methods, curricula, and assessment to innovations in learning. The scope of the study covers formal Islamic education in schools (Fiqh, Aqidah Akhlak, Quran Hadis, History of Islamic Culture) and non-formal Islamic education in the community. Abstract

There is no systematic mapping of the latest research in the field of learning Arabic for non-Arabic, in particular, that was published in SCOPUS as the top scientific publication. So often, there is a repetition of research that makes the disappearance of novelty in new research. The study aims at mapping, bothering, analyzing, and synthesizing studies related to learning Arabic for non-Arabic published in SCOPUS over the last five years. This research calls for the SLR or Systematic Literature Review method with a strongly qualitative approach. Data analysis uses bibliometric techniques using the Vos viewer application as a collection and description of the metadata of the last five years of research published by Scopus. It was concluded that Recommendations from this research encompass expanding research in Natural Language Processing (NLP), focusing on preschool stages, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among linguistics, information technology, developmental psychology, and education to formulate comprehensive and responsive approaches to Arabic language education tailored to learners' needs.

Abstract

This article discusses the impact of the implementation of artificial intelligence technology (AI) in Islamic religious education, in particular about the understanding and practice of Muslim religion as well as critical aspects that need to be considered. This article aims to investigate how AI technology affects the paradigm and methods of Islamic education, as well as its impact on the understanding and practice of Muslim religion. Moreover, this article aims to identify critical aspects that need to be considered in order not to sacrifice traditional and ethical values in the formation of the character of religious future generations. A case study analysis and research related to the use of AI technology in Islamic religious education is used to identify its impact on student understanding, changing learning paradigms, as well as challenges and opportunities faced. Data from various studies show that AI technology has improved accessibility, personalized learning experiences, and adaptive instruction within Islamic religious education. However, there are also changes in the understanding and practice of religion, as well as the challenge of preserving traditional and ethical values. The implementation of AI technology has changed the paradigms and methods in Islamic religious education. Therefore, a balanced approach is needed between AI technology and traditional approaches to ensure that important aspects such as reflection, contemplation, and discussion remain preserved in the formation of religious character.

Abstract

At present, it is clear that leadership roles are increasingly being held by women. For instance, in the field of education, numerous women occupy key positions, such as principals, deans, and even rectors. This trend aligns with the women's emancipation movement and the gender equality movement, which advocate for equal rights for women in various aspects of life. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning and characteristics of leadership, including leadership styles and roles, principles and laws governing women's leadership, the impact of women's leadership in education, and the significance of women's leadership within Islam. Moreover, this research employs a qualitative methodology utilizing a library research approach. A library study is a type of research that relies on a variety of reading materials, such as books and journal articles, as references. This research highlights that women are no longer perceived as weak; they consistently demonstrate their strength above and beyond societal expectations, increasingly taking on prominent leadership roles. Furthermore, it posits that when a woman assumes a role such as a principal, office head, or class leader, especially within the educational sector, she should embody fairness, honesty, and responsibility in her leadership.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the reconstruction of the Islamic Education Curriculum (PAI) at SMP-IT Al-Fauzan Bangkinang in enhancing students' understanding and competence in religious studies, as well as its impact on the formation of students' character and morals. The significance of this research lies in the context of a boarding school, which has a greater potential to shape students' character and morals. The research methodology employed is a case study with a qualitative approach, utilizing observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis related to the PAI curriculum. The findings reveal that the reconstruction of the PAI curriculum has a positive impact on students' understanding and competence in religious studies, such as mastering materials on the Quran, hadith, aqidah, ibadah, and akhlak. Additionally, religious extracurricular activities such as Hifzul Qur'an, Syahril and Fahmil Qur'an, and Hifzul Hadis have significantly contributed to the formation of students' character and morals in accordance with Islamic teachings. This research concludes that the reconstruction of the PAI curriculum at SMP-IT Al-Fauzan Bangkinang, supported by a diverse range of extracurricular programs, has successfully fostered a generation of young Muslims who excel academically and possess noble character.

Abstract

The issue of student morals/character in the world of education remains a central concern for all school members, especially teachers who directly educate them. One instance occurred in class 5A at SD-2 YPK Bontang, where most students appeared bored in learning, impatient, unfocused, not serious, hesitant to make decisions in determining solutions, and lacked self-confidence. The aim of this research was to investigate the implementation of the constructive collaborative method using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Islamic Education learning with material on the stories of the Prophets in improving student character. The research methodology employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR), focused on classroom situations, with a qualitative research approach. This study was conducted over two cycles, with each cycle having research stages including planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were 5A grade students at SD-2 YPK Bontang, consisting of 6 boys and 6 girls with varying learning abilities and life backgrounds. The data collection techniques used were tests, observations, and documentation. The data sources came from several sources, including informants such as the 5A grade teacher and students at SD-2 YPK Bontang, learning archives and documents, learning observation results, and learning outcome tests. The data analysis technique used was descriptive. The results showed a significant increase in the class average score from 75.9 in cycle 1 to 91.5 in cycle 2. The percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria also increased significantly from 50% in cycle 1 to 100% in cycle 2. Based on the discussion of the data, it can be concluded that the use of the constructive collaborative method with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model can improve the attitudes and character of 5th-grade students in the material on the exemplary stories of the prophets and messengers at SD-2 YPK Bontang.

Abstract

Changes in government policies in the field of education, including the continuous development of the national curriculum, require adjustments to the PAI curriculum to remain relevant and in line with national education policies. Each student has different needs in understanding and practicing the teachings of Islam. Each learner has different needs in understanding and practicing the teachings of Islam. Therefore, the PAI curriculum needs to be designed in such a way as to meet the needs and characteristics of diverse learners. This research uses the library research method, an approach to existing literature. There are several principles in the development of PAI curriculum, namely the principle of relevance, the principle of flexibility, the principle of continuity, the principle of efficiency, and the principle of effectiveness The curriculum can be changed and modified dynamically to keep up with the times without ignoring the noble values of society. This process of change and modification is referred to as curriculum development.

Abstract

This study examines Fazlur Rahman's thoughts on Islamic education reform through the double movement method, which aims to integrate the historical understanding of Qur'anic revelation with its application to modern challenges. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature analysis, this research explores the implementation of the method in Pakistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The findings show that the double movement method provides a foundation for designing a curriculum that is relevant to contemporary needs without abandoning Islamic values. In Pakistan, Rahman faced resistance from conservative groups, although his ideas continued to influence modern educational discourse. In Indonesia, the transformation of IAIN into UIN reflects the adoption of integration concepts, while Malaysia, through the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), successfully adopted a holistic approach despite encountering similar challenges. This study concludes that the double movement method holds significant potential to address the challenges of globalization in Islamic education, provided it is supported by inclusive dialogue and a commitment to integrating religious values with modern knowledge.

Abstract

The scientific approach is increasingly popular in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, and it has been widely used in the learning process with a particular focus and material. This study aims to systematically summarise and analyse several studies on the implementation of the scientific approach in PAI learning, then determine the impact of its implementation on improving students' learning achievement and interest in learning, as well as identify challenges and opportunities faced in the future. The research method used in this paper is a systematic literature review approach, in which researchers collected 20 scientific articles from reputable journals obtained through Google Scholar, with selection criteria including topic relevance and research results that can provide insight into the scientific approach in the past 5 years. The results showed that the implementation of the scientific approach was proven to improve students' critical thinking skills, learning interest and academic achievement. It is also able to improve students' understanding of the subject matter as well as forming better character and critical thinking skills. Nevertheless, its implementation certainly faces challenges, especially related to the availability of relevant learning resources and teachers' skills in using the scientific approach. On the other hand, there are also great opportunities, such as the utilisation of technological media and cross-disciplinary collaboration, which can improve learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a strategic role in shaping the character of tolerant students in the midst of a diverse society. However, in Maluku, the implementation of tolerance values in PAI has not been fully effective, as can be seen from the conflicts between students that are still occurring. This research aims to formulate a PAI revitalization strategy based on Pela Gandong local wisdom and a multicultural approach to build harmony between religious communities. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a multisite approach, involving three State Aliyah Madrasah (MAN) in Maluku. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using thematic techniques. The results showed that the integration of Pela Gandong values in PAI learning increased students' awareness of tolerance, with most of the student and teacher respondents stating positive changes. The multicultural approach creates more inclusive cross-cultural interactions, despite the constraints of lack of teacher training and resistance to curriculum change. These findings emphasize the importance of supporting traditional, religious, and school policy leaders for successful implementation. This study concludes that PAI revitalization based on Pela Gandong and multiculturalism is an effective strategy to build a more tolerant society in Maluku.

Abstract

This research examines the role of religious moderation as a pillar of justice in the context of ethics education among postgraduate students of UIN Malang. In an increasingly plural and complex world, religious moderation is expected to be a solution to reduce conflict and promote interfaith harmony. Through a qualitative research method with a case study type, this study conducted in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with postgraduate students to understand their understanding of religious moderation and its application in daily life. The results showed that students have a high awareness of the importance of moderation in maintaining social justice. In addition, ethics education at UIN Malang plays an important role in shaping tolerant and inclusive attitudes among students. This study concludes that the integration of religious moderation in the higher education curriculum can strengthen the values of justice and facilitate constructive interfaith dialogue.
