Abstract

Arabic has long served as the lingua franca of Islamic civilization, functioning not only as the language of the Qur’an but also as a powerful medium for scientific inquiry and technological advancement. During the Golden Age of Islam, Arabic emerged as the dominant language for translating, preserving, and expanding knowledge across various disciplines, including medicine, astronomy, engineering, and mathematics. This article examines the central role of Arabic as a bridge for scientific and technological literacy in the Islamic world, both historically and in contemporary contexts. Through a conceptual and historical review, the study emphasizes how Arabic facilitated epistemological integration between faith and reason, particularly through renowned institutions such as Bayt al-Hikmah and the contributions of influential scholars like Al-Kindi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Jazari. Their works demonstrate that Arabic was not merely a communication tool but also a vehicle for critical thinking, creativity, and interdisciplinary synthesis. In the modern era, however, Arabic faces significant challenges in retaining its role within global scientific discourse, including the dominance of English and other foreign languages, the fragmentation of Islamic education, and the limited integration of modern sciences into Arabic-language curricula. Addressing these challenges, the paper proposes a revitalization of Arabic instruction that aligns linguistic mastery with scientific and technological competency. This integrative approach combines traditional Islamic epistemology with contemporary educational models, enabling students to engage with both religious heritage and modern innovation. The study concludes that Arabic remains a vital link between spiritual tradition and technological progress in the Muslim world. By strategically reforming educational practices to emphasize both scientific literacy and linguistic proficiency, Arabic can once again serve as a dynamic instrument for global intellectual contribution.

Abstract

This research examines the psychological and behavioral aspects of consumers affected by Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in online shopping settings, with particular attention to how online ratings and reviews influence purchasing decisions. FOMO can lead to impulsive buying behaviors, often fueled by social pressure, urgency, and the perception of limited-time offers or product scarcity. The study aims to understand how consumers engage with and interpret user reviews and ratings to manage the cognitive and emotional impact of FOMO during their decision-making process. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions involving participants who had recently made online purchases influenced by FOMO. Thematic analysis revealed that while numerical ratings often act as a preliminary screening tool, it is detailed, visually supported, and contextually relevant reviews that play a more critical role in alleviating doubts, reinforcing purchase confidence, and encouraging more rational decision-making. Participants frequently placed greater trust in authentic, experience-based reviews rather than generic star ratings, which were often perceived as easily manipulated or lacking depth. Additionally, the study highlights that the credibility and trustworthiness of user-generated content significantly affect how consumers evaluate online information in high-pressure situations. Ultimately, the findings suggest that online reviews can serve as a psychological support system, helping consumers cope with emotional stress and complexity associated with FOMO. These insights hold valuable implications for digital marketers and e-commerce platforms aiming to optimize their review systems, improve transparency, and foster trust-based relationships with consumers in an increasingly competitive and emotionally charged digital marketplace.

Abstract

Propolis honey has long been recognized as a natural alternative treatment with multiple health benefits, particularly in accelerating wound healing. Its bioactive components, such as flavonoids, exhibit strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help stabilize reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby reducing free radical activity and mitigating inflammatory reactions. This study investigated the effect of propolis honey administration on leukocyte levels during the wound-healing process in postpartum mothers with second-degree perineal rupture. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 44 postpartum mothers divided into two groups: 22 in the control group and 22 in the intervention group. Respondents were selected through randomization, and data collection included demographic information, food consumption patterns, and leukocyte levels. Univariate analysis was conducted to examine changes in leukocyte levels before and after treatment, while bivariate analysis assessed differences between the control and intervention groups. Findings revealed that the intervention group, which received propolis honey, experienced a greater average decrease in leukocyte levels (-6.6255 ± 4.78086 /uL) compared to the control group (-6.1691 ± 5.57134 /uL). The reduction in leukocyte count among the intervention group is attributed to the presence of flavonoids in propolis honey, which play a crucial role in regulating immune response and controlling inflammation. This process supports faster tissue repair and reduces the risk of infection. The study concludes that propolis honey administration has a measurable effect on lowering leukocyte levels in postpartum mothers suffering from second-degree perineal rupture. Future research is encouraged to differentiate between spontaneous rupture and episiotomy cases, as well as to measure wound surface area for more precise evaluations. The findings support the potential integration of propolis honey into postpartum wound management protocols as a safe, natural, and effective complementary therapy.

Abstract

Zakat and waqf are integral components of the Islamic social finance system, intended to promote social equity and empower underserved communities. In Indonesia, however, the management of these instruments continues to encounter obstacles, particularly concerning transparency, accountability, and public confidence. With technological advancements, blockchain has emerged as a transformative tool with the potential to enhance the governance of Islamic philanthropic institutions. This study systematically reviews 68 scholarly articles published between 2016 and 2025 to explore the opportunities and limitations of adopting blockchain technology in Indonesia’s zakat and waqf sectors. The review identifies four central themes: improving transparency and accountability; increasing operational efficiency and optimizing waqf asset utilization; building public trust; and assessing institutional readiness for digital transformation. The findings suggest that blockchain aligns well with Sharia principles by enabling real-time financial reporting, facilitating smart contract implementation, and offering reliable data-driven asset tracking. Despite these advantages, widespread adoption remains constrained by regulatory uncertainty, limited digital literacy, and insufficient technological infrastructure. To address these challenges, the study highlights the need for collaborative efforts among government bodies, zakat and waqf institutions, and technology developers to create a more transparent, inclusive, and sustainable digital Islamic social finance ecosystem. Such cooperation is seen as essential not only for advancing governance standards but also for reinforcing the public’s trust in religious financial institutions. By leveraging blockchain, Indonesia has the opportunity to modernize its zakat and waqf management systems while preserving the core ethical and spiritual values embedded in Islamic finance. Ultimately, the study underscores that while blockchain holds significant promise, its successful implementation will depend on aligning technological innovations with institutional capacity and regulatory frameworks.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of financial attitudes, financial literacy, and health literacy on sustainable retirement planning among Indonesian retirees and pre-retirees aged 60 to 80 years. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 249 respondents selected using stratified random sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS was utilized to analyze the relationships between the variables. The results reveal that financial attitudes, financial literacy, and health literacy each have a positive and significant impact on sustainable retirement planning. Positive financial attitudes encourage proactive planning and long-term savings behavior, while higher financial literacy enables individuals to make informed decisions about investments, budgeting, and future financial security. Furthermore, improved health literacy supports better anticipation of medical needs and expenditures in retirement, further reinforcing financial preparedness and resilience. Additional analysis suggests that these three factors interact synergistically: individuals with strong financial and health literacy tend to maintain better lifestyle habits, engage in preventive healthcare, and allocate resources efficiently, leading to more sustainable retirement outcomes. Such preparedness not only reduces financial stress but also contributes to overall well-being and life satisfaction in later years. The findings of this study carry important implications for policymakers, financial institutions, healthcare providers, and educational stakeholders. Policymakers are encouraged to develop integrated programs that simultaneously promote financial and health literacy among the aging population. Financial institutions can leverage these insights to design products, advisory services, and retirement savings schemes tailored to the needs of older adults. Healthcare providers are urged to integrate financial planning awareness into health counseling for the elderly, while educational institutions should embed retirement, financial, and health literacy topics in adult education curricula. Collectively, these efforts are essential to empower older adults in achieving sustainable and secure retirement outcomes, ensuring that both financial stability and health considerations are addressed comprehensively.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has played a crucial role in modernizing administrative functions within higher education, particularly in addressing inefficiencies in the student financial billing process. Traditionally, this process at many institutions has relied on manual methods, often leading to delays, data entry errors, limited access to real-time information, and a general lack of transparency. Recognizing these challenges, the Islamic Institute of Al-Zaytun Indonesia (IAI AL-AZIS) initiated the development of a mobile-based Student Financial Billing Information System aimed at streamlining access to tuition-related data. This system is designed to provide students with up-to-date information regarding their tuition fees, payment history, and timely billing notifications. To achieve this, the research followed the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology using the Waterfall model, incorporating data gathered through field observations, interviews with key stakeholders, and a comprehensive literature review. The system architecture was visualized using Data Flow Diagrams (DFD) and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), while the user interface was developed with a mobile-first design approach tailored for Android platforms to ensure ease of access and usability. Key features of the system include modules for retrieving billing statements, monitoring payment history, and receiving alerts for upcoming due dates. Additionally, administrative functionalities such as data entry, payment verification, and automated report generation were integrated to reduce manual workload. Beyond enhancing user experience and operational efficiency, the system also supports interoperability with academic information systems and government reporting tools like Feeder PDDIKTI. As a result, this study provides a practical and adaptable solution for higher education institutions seeking to improve financial service delivery through mobile technology. By aligning digital innovation with institutional needs, the proposed system offers a scalable framework that supports transparency, accountability, and more efficient management of student financial information.

Abstract

This study emphasizes the significance of profitability and liquidity as key indicators of financial performance, particularly within the property and real estate sector. This industry is highly sensitive to economic fluctuations and urban development changes, which can directly impact a company's ability to manage its financial resources effectively. The research investigates the interaction between these financial variables in determining financial stability across companies operating in this sector. Specifically, the study aims to examine and analyze the effects of profitability and liquidity on financial distress, with sales growth as a moderating variable, using data from property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2023 period. The research relies on secondary data and applies purposive sampling to select a total of 26 companies that meet the specified criteria. The analytical approach involves hypothesis testing and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), utilizing SPSS version 25 as the statistical tool. The findings reveal that profitability has a significant negative effect on financial distress, suggesting that higher profitability reduces the likelihood of financial difficulties. Conversely, liquidity is found to have a significant positive effect on financial distress, indicating that higher liquidity may be associated with greater financial challenges in this sector—potentially due to inefficient cash management or excessive short-term liabilities. However, the study finds that sales growth does not significantly moderate the relationship between profitability and liquidity in influencing financial distress. These results offer important insights for stakeholders in the property and real estate industry, highlighting the need for balanced financial strategies that enhance profitability while maintaining healthy liquidity levels. The findings also suggest that simply increasing sales growth may not be sufficient to offset financial difficulties if core financial indicators are not properly managed.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of self-directed learning (SDL) in Aqidah Akhlak instruction at MTs Nurul Hidayah and its influence on students’ learning attitudes and character development. The research was conducted using a qualitative case study approach through in-depth interviews with teachers and students. The findings reveal that SDL promotes increased student independence, responsibility, interest, and enthusiasm, while also encouraging positive behavioral changes aligned with the values taught in Islamic education. The integration of digital tools was found to support students' autonomy and improve their engagement, particularly in a suburban school context with limited resources. The study highlights that SDL, typically studied in higher education, can be effectively applied to junior high school settings to foster both cognitive and moral development. These results offer practical implications for improving Islamic religious education and contribute to the growing discourse on SDL in secondary education. Limitations include the single-site focus and qualitative design; therefore, future research should consider broader comparative and quantitative approaches to enrich the understanding of SDL’s impact across various educational environments.
