Abstract

This study examines what waqf knowledge and trust influence waqif's intentions to donate to the livestock sector. Extending the Theory of Planned Behavior, this research adopts a quantitative approach. Data was collected through online questionnaires for respondents who had previously donated waqf. This research utilizes Smart-PLS version 4 along with Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling. The findings of this research indicate that subjective norms, attitude toward behavior, trust, and knowledge about waqf significantly affect the intention to perform waqf specifically for the livestock sector. Meanwhile, perceived behavioral control shows the opposite result. In addition, trust and waqf knowledge are the variables with the most significant influence on waqf intentions. This research provides insight to waqf regulators and nazhir who have a particular waqf program for the livestock sector to continue to increase literacy and education about waqf and how it plays a role in maintaining national food security. This research also not only reinforces the importance of the waqf sector but also has implications for the livestock sector concerning sources of financing for breeders and efforts to utilize waqf land as grazing fields

Abstract

The potential for zakat in Indonesia is increasing over time. However, the value of the increase in zakat receipts is not proportional to the potential of zakat. Research on zakat behavior using digital platforms is important considering the lack of realization of zakat collection compared to the existing potential. This study develops the UTAUT model by adding knowledge of zakat as a moderated variable. A quantitative approach is used in this research. The number of respondents in this study was 200 who were obtained through convenience sampling based on questionnaires distributed online. Data analysis was performed using partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions had a positive effect on behavioral intention to use digital zakat payment. Meanwhile, the moderating effect shows that knowledge of zakat moderates the relationship between performance expectancy and behavioral intention. These results have implications for the need to increase the effectiveness of digital zakat payments, have influencers who educate about zakat payments using digital, and increase the choice of zakat management institutions that accommodate digital payments so that the intention of muzakki to pay zakat using digital payments is increasing. The moderating effect implies that for muzakki who have higher knowledge of zakat, the level of trust and effectiveness of digital payments can increase the desire to pay zakat through digital payments.

And to support it, the Sharia Financial Institution Receiving Money Waqf should have professional management in the collection, as well as management mechanisms, and need accountability and integrity in the reporting side of the management of waqf money received.

Abstract

Abstract: Poverty is still a major problem in Indonesia, therefore an effective and comprehensive strategy is needed. Zakat is considered to be able to overcome the problem of poverty because it directly involves the structure of the community. This study aims to empirically investigate the impact of zakat distribution on poverty alleviation both in quantity and quality by using the BAZNAS Welfare Index (IKB) of 8 provinces that have the highest percentage of poor people in Indonesia. This research uses panel data method with REM analysis. The result of this study is that the distribution of zakat funds has a significant effect on reducing the number of poor people (P0). A panel data approach with REM analysis is used in this study. This study's conclusion is that there are much fewer impoverished individuals (P0) as a result of the distribution of zakat payments. But, at the provincial level, zakat (IKB) has no discernible impact on the degree of poverty depth (P1) or poverty severity (P2).l.

Abstract

Riba is an exchange of Ribawi elements where there is a difference in timeand/or quantity. The Ribaaawi elements mentioned by the prophet are gold forgold, silver for silver, wheat for wheat, barley for barley, dates for dates, andsalt for salt. By a similar analogy, money is similar to gold and silver whereit is a modern way of exchange. Therefore a contract of exchange between theinsurer and insured contains a Ribawi element, i.e. levels of compensationinvolving varying amounts and time scales. The strict prohibition of interest in Islam is because of the following reasons.(Qaradawi, 2001). Taking of interest implies appropriating aanother person’sproperty without giving them aanything in exchange, because the one whomlends the other one dollar for one dollar plus gets the extra for nothing.Dependent on interest prevent people from working to earn money, sincethe person with one dollar can earn extra dollars through interest either inadvance or on later date without working for it. If it is happen to capital ownerthen they would not invest in the industry, trade and commerce, building andconstruction, as they will get extra earning without necessarily doing all ofthe hard work.Permitting the taking of interest discourages people from doing good toone another. If interest is prohibited in a society, people will lend to each otherwith a good will, expecting back no more then what they have lent. Riba isalso totally prohibited in Islam as because it tends to create unfair or injusticetreatment between one party with another. It also exploits one by the others. In Ribawi economic the rich one tends to get more benefit compares with thepoor one. The gap between the rich one and the poor one is becoming bigger andbigger as Riba have a spiral impact on increasing price for goods.

Abstract

In 2022, Indonesia was ranked 3rd in the utilization of Islamic fintech on a global scale. Despite this accomplishment, waqf institutions continue to face challenges in embracing fintech. Therefore, this research aimed to investigate the extent of fintech-related research on waqf and its implications for the institutions in effectively harnessing fintech in their activities. It adopted a qualitative research approach, relying on Scopus-indexed documents as the primary source of data. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using the Publish or Perish (PoP) tool, following the Systematic Literature Review with PRISMA procedure, and supplemented with content analysis. The results showed noteworthy insights, where Ascarya, A emerged as the most influential author, while Hudaefi, F.A. claimed the highest number of citations. The publication with the greatest influence was the International Publication of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, while the most influential affiliations were Universitas Airlangga and Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Indonesia was the most influential country in generating fintech on the waqf subject of the document. Among the 19 relevant papers examined, only 5 (26.32%) focused on the discussion of fintech's impact on waqf. This statistic highlighted the potential for further development of fintech by waqf institutions. Several opportunities for such development emerge, including the creation of waqf applications, the adoption of crowdfunding fintech, the exploration of waqf blockchain, the implementation of WaqfCoin, and the establishment of online platforms for public reporting of waqf fund activities.

Abstract

Zakah is one of the characteristics of the Islamic economic system, because zakah is one of the implementation of the principle of justice in the Islamic economic system. Trade is one form of legal business. The predominantly Muslim village of Mejobo has considerable potential associated with zakat, where the mejobo village has a prominent market commodity in the south of the southern part of the potential Brayung market in which a total of approximately 1000 traders in the Mejobo Village market. Materially the traders gain prosperity through two things: capital turnover and reasonable trade margin. However, in reality the merchants are distributing their zakah directly to mustahiq without going through zakah institution in the form of money every close to Eid al-Fitr. In addition, they also channel their zakah to a person who is not assigned as an amilin or zakah officer but to a person who is trusted to distribute. It is unfortunate if this large potential is not touched optimally by the zakah amil institutions in both the private and government. So it can be ascertained that the prospect of Brayung Desa Mejobo market must be developed maximally so that in addition to the obligation of Muslims to pay zakah, it also affects the social good and reduces the burden of the government.
