Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of the interactive application "Arabic Alphabet" in learning Arabic for early childhood. This application is designed to introduce Arabic letters through a fun and interactive method, using various features such as educational games, audio pronunciations, and attractive visuals. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 10 children aged 4-6 years, as well as the participation of their parents and teachers. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation for four weeks. Issues identified included technical challenges such as unresponsive touch screens and difficulty navigating within the app, as well as limited recommended screen time for children. Data analysis was carried out using the thematic analysis method, involving data transcription, coding, organizing themes, and interpretation. The validity and reliability of the research were maintained through source triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. Ethical aspects of the research were maintained by obtaining written consent from parents and teachers, maintaining confidentiality of participants' identities, and ensuring the welfare of children during the research process. The research results show that the "Arabic Alphabet" application is effective in increasing children's interest and involvement in learning Arabic. Children show high curiosity and interact more often with Arabic letters, and show progress in recognizing and pronouncing these letters. To overcome the obstacles found, the research recommends improving the technical features and navigation of the application as well as providing more comprehensive guidance for parents and teachers. The addition of a child progress monitoring feature is also recommended to provide more targeted and timely support. These findings provide deep insight into the effectiveness of apps in Arabic language learning and suggest recommendations for app developers, educators, and parents to improve children's learning experiences.

Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, revealing a significant increase in vocabulary retention from an average of 30% to 75%. Student feedback highlighted increased motivation and interest in learning through the use of these educational tools. The analysis showed that interactive learning applications and videos were particularly effective, while educational games also contributed positively. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference in learning outcomes before and after using educational media, emphasizing its substantial role in enhancing memorization skills. This study aligns with previous research demonstrating the positive effects of multimedia in language learning, adding specific insights into the challenges of memorizing Fi'il Madhi vocabulary. The findings suggest that educational media not only improve retention but also boost student motivation and engagement. Practical implications for educators include integrating these tools into the curriculum to facilitate more effective and engaging learning experiences. Recommendations for further development of educational media focus on creating interactive, accessible, and enjoyable content that supports diverse learning styles. Overall, the study underscores the importance of incorporating educational media into Arabic language instruction to overcome vocabulary memorization challenges and improve learning outcomes. This research supports broader adoption of educational media in language education and provides guidance for future development and implementation in teaching practices.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of various teaching methodologies for Arabic language instruction at SMA Terpadu, focusing on how these methodologies impact students' learning outcomes and engagement. The research utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data to assess the performance of different pedagogical strategies. The methodologies analyzed include the Communicative Approach, Grammar-Translation Method, Immersive Method, and Total Physical Response (TPR). Through comprehensive document analysis, in-depth interviews with educators, and classroom observations, the study identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. Results indicate that while the Communicative and Immersive methods significantly enhance students' speaking and listening skills, the Grammar-Translation Method remains valuable for grammatical understanding. However, each method also presents specific challenges, such as the need for highly skilled teachers and the varying adaptability of students. The findings highlight the importance of a flexible and contextually appropriate approach to teaching Arabic. Recommendations are provided for optimizing instructional strategies to improve language acquisition and student engagement. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of effective Arabic language teaching practices and offers practical insights for educators and curriculum developers.
