MUMTAZA (Journal of Arabic Teaching, Arabic Linguistic and Literature) is an open-access journal in the Arabic Education Department. This journal is available for researchers who want to improve knowledge in those particular areas and intend to spread the knowledge as a result of studies. MUMTAZA is a scientific research journal of Arabic language teaching, linguistics, and literature. It is open to anyone who desires to develop knowledge based on qualified research in any field. Submitted papers are evaluated by anonymous reviewers by double-blind peer review for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation. This journal is published two times a year (June and December). Abstract

The aim of this research is so that every student has the opportunity to master Arabic vocabulary (mufrodat) with correct pronunciation and meaning. This discussion discusses the effectivieness of using practice methods or getting used to course activities that use the drill, muhadatsah (conversation or dialogue which means exchanging thought or opinions regarding a certain topic), and muhadharah (deleviry of material or speech) in an effort to improve the Arabic vocabulary mastery of Mambaus Sholihin 2 Blitar students. Language is very important for humans, namely as a means of communication. Arabic is very important for humans, namely as a communication tool. Especially for students who study at Islamic Boarding School. The implementation of this activity is an effort by the management to realize the vision and mission of the institution, manely to become a modern Islamic Boarding School or called a modern Islamic Boarding School which requires student to use Arabic ang English in their daily activities.

Abstract

There are various assumptions about the Arabic language, including assumptions that consider Arabic as a habit, there are those who regard Arabic as a communication system that is basically spoken, and there are those who consider Arabic as a set of rules, norms and rules. The Structural Approach at Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School is an approach to language learning which is based on the assumption that language is a rule. On the basis of this assumption arises the thought that language learning must prioritize mastery of language rules or grammar. Therefore, language learning needs to focus on knowledge of language structure which is included in phonology, morphology, and syntax. The approach in this study was to use a qualitative approach with an enthographic research type and the data collection method was to conduct direct interviews in the field with one of the administrators of the Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School Foundation. The learning of Arabic at the Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School can be divided into two parts, namely (1) Learning Arabic Grammar (Nahwu and Sharaf) and (2) Learning Arabic Muhadatsah. In learning Arabic grammar at Islamic boarding schools, it is intended for students who have already received education in junior high and high school because at this age the students are well-established to read, recite and translate Arabic.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing ludo game media as a means of improving mastery of Arabic vocabulary. This research was carried out to overcome limited access to supporting media in learning Arabic. The main goal is to create ludo game-based media to improve mastery of Arabic vocabulary. The research method applied follows the steps developed by Borg and Gall, which involve processes such as gathering information, planning, developing initial product forms, primary field testing, and operational product revision. The collected data was analyzed using a qualitative approach and the results were presented in the form of descriptive analysis. This research was conducted at the Al-Kautsar DTA, Bandung, with the research subjects being children who recited the Koran at the Al-Kautsar DTA. The data collection techniques used involved observation and interviews. The results of the research show that the Ludo game media is considered appropriate and appropriate as a learning tool by the children of Al-Kautsar DTA, with their positive response indicating that the use of this media is considered very interesting and fun.

Abstract

Arabic is one of the international languages ​​that is important to learn and is also one of the foreign languages ​​that has been applied in the world of education. Of course, learning Arabic, which is foreign to Indonesians, is not easy. This is because Arabic has a lot of understanding. Therefore, it is necessary to have the right method to learn Arabic itself. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the singing method in learning Arabic vocabulary in early childhood. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The results of the research show that the singing method is successful and effective for use in early childhood for learning Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

This research discusses the majaz language style found in the poem Al-Masa>' by Khalil Mutra>n. This research is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. This research aims to describe the form of majaz found in poetry and the relationship (alaqah) between the meaning of the majazi and the essence of the majaz. In this poem, Mutra>n uses a lot of majaz, namely terms that are not interpreted in their proper meaning. so that many terms are not intended with the lexical meaning of the lafadz (hakiki>), but the poet wants another meaning (majazi>) with a specific purpose. The results of the research show that poets use a lot of uslub majaz. Some of the majaz uslubs found in this poem include majaz aqli> in the form of referring fi'il to fa>'il which is not real, majaz mursal with halaqah juz'iyyah, haliyah, mahaliyah, and jasaliyah, and isti'arah tashrihiyyah and tamtsiliyyah.

Abstract

Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini ialah: 1) Untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran qira’ah dengan menggunakan kitab al-miftah bagi santri baru pondok pesantren Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan Madura. 2) Untuk mengetahui problematika pembelajaran qira’ah dengan menggunakan buku almiftah lil ulum bagi santri baru pondok pesantren Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan Madura. 3) Untuk mengetahui solusi problematika pembelajaran qira’ah dengan menggunakan buku almiftah lil ulum bagi santri baru pondok pesantren Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan Madura.Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sedang pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Memulai analisis data dengan mengumpulkan semua kategori data, interpretasi langsung, pembentukan pola, mengembangkan sirkulasi secara alami.Adapun hasil penelitian ini ialah: proses pembelajaran qira’ah dengan menggunakan kitab almiftah berjalan sesuai dengan komponen pembelajaran yang mencakup pada tujuan, menentukan materi, metode, media dan evaluasi. Sedangkan problematika pembelajaran qira’ah dengan menggunakan kitab al-miftah lil ulum terbagi atas problematika linguistik dan non linguistik bagi guru dan santri baru. Adapun problematika yang dihadapi guru dari segi non linguitik:1).Monoton dalam pembelajaran qira’ah solusi problem melakukan studi banding dengan pondok pesantren sidogiri 2).Ketidak mampuan guru mengorganisasikan manajemen kelas solusi problem menambah ruangan bagi santri baru. Adapun problematika pembelajaran qira’ah dengan menggunakan kitab al-miftah lil ulum bagi santri terdiri dari problem linguistik dan non linguistik. Dari segi linguistik 1).Santri sulit memahami sorof solusi problem menyediakan buku “pedoman wali santri” yang diterbitkan pondok pesantren sidogiri. 2). Ketidakmampuan santri menerjemah teks qira’ah solusi problem pondok menyediakan kelas taqrib atau kelas takhossus. Dari segi non linguistik 1).Santri tidak fokus disebabkan ramai saat pengajaran solusi problem diselangi cerita tentang kisah-kisah para nabi, sahabat dan ulama’. 2). Kejenuhan solusi problem memberikan permainan 3). Kurangnya praktek langsung pada kitab solusi problem membiaskan santri untuk membaca kitab kuning.

Abstract

Learning Arabic is essential in developing linguistic and cultural competence in the connected global era. To ensure the relevance and effectiveness of Arabic language learning along with the development of information technology, the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) approach stands out as the right method. This research explores the implementation and effectiveness of TPACK in Arabic language skills including the speaking skills context. A qualitative approach with descriptive methods was used in this research, by collecting data through literature reviews and observational studies on research relevant to the topic. The research results identified the characteristics of TPACK which are manifested in language skills learning. In speaking skills, various techniques are applied to videos through muhadatsah, munaqasyah, and sardulqissah using the learning.aljazeera.net platform. Analysis of research results shows that the application of TPACK in Arabic language learning can increase student motivation and participation and provide significant assistance to teachers in designing interesting learning experiences. In conclusion, this research highlights the important role of TPACK in the context of Arabic Speaking Skills. The integration of technology in the learning process has been proven to improve the quality of language teaching and learning, offering a more interesting and relevant alternative for students in today's digital era.

Abstract

Textbooks play an important role in the teaching and learning process, including in learning Arabic. For children in the first grade of Madrasah Ibtida'iyah, Arabic textbooks are the main medium for introducing and developing their Arabic language skills. Therefore, it is important to analyze the contents of Arabic textbooks to ensure their suitability to the learning objectives and needs of children in the first grade of Madrasah Ibtida'iyah. This research aims to analyze the suitability of the content of the book Let's Learn Arabic for first grade Madrasah Ibtida'iyah regarding its suitability to the content of the material for the Core Competencies and Basic Competencies. The type of research used is library research. Meanwhile, in analyzing the data the author used descriptive analysis and content analysis. The data collection method is obtained from analysis, observation and documentation. The subject and object at the same time are books Come on, learn Arabic for first grade Madrasah Ibtida'iyah. The results of the research show that the contents of the book are appropriate Come on, learn Arabic for first grade Madrasah Ibtida'iyah with Core Competencies and Basic Competencies, the existing teaching materials are suitable in terms of content, arrangement and graphics to be used and taught to first grade students at Madrasah Ibtida'iyah if they already know all the letters and are in accordance with the Core Competencies and Basic Competencies, but for learning purposes In each sub-section there is nothing special and only the general purpose. Therefore, perhaps we can recommend this book for children who are still in elementary school. Because each chapter consists of sub-discussions accompanied by various exercises. The material between chapters is interconnected and the form of material and exercises are tiered from Chapter I – Chapter VI.

Abstract

Language is a sound that is spoken to communicate and convey something. Language is also used to exchange ideas, learn and improve the ability to interact between fellow humans. One of the things that must be learned in language is linguistics. Linguistics is studying language scientifically. The main aim of linguistics is to examine/study a language descriptively. Therefore, this research aims to find out what is meant by linguistics and what the scope of modern linguistics studies are. This research is a library research method research. The data analysis technique used is content analysis and the data is presented in a qualitative descriptive manner, this is because this article uses the library research method. Meanwhile, the conclusion of this research is that there are 5 scopes of modern linguistic studies, namely phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics.

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the use of the "Arabic Vocabulary for Kids" application in learning Arabic for young children. Participants in this study consisted of 10 children aged 4-6 years, as well as their parents and teachers. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation for four weeks. Observations were conducted to monitor children's interactions and engagement with the app, while semi-structured interviews with parents, teachers and children were used to explore their perceptions of the app. Documentation in the form of screenshots and audio/video recordings was also collected to support the findings. Data analysis was carried out using the thematic analysis method, which involves data transcription, coding, theme development, and interpretation. The validity and reliability of the research were maintained through source triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. Ethical aspects of the research were maintained by obtaining written consent from parents and teachers, maintaining confidentiality of participants' identities, and ensuring the welfare of children during the research process. The research results show that the "Arabic Vocabulary for Kids" application is effective in increasing children's interest and involvement in learning Arabic. These findings provide in-depth insight into the effectiveness of apps in Arabic language learning and suggest recommendations for app developers, educators, and parents to improve children's learning experiences.
