MUMTAZA (Journal of Arabic Teaching, Arabic Linguistic and Literature) is an open-access journal in the Arabic Education Department. MUMTAZA is a scientific research journal of Arabic language teaching, linguistics, and literature. It is open to anyone who desires to develop knowledge based on qualified research in any field. This journal is published two times a year (June and December). Abstract

The problems in this study are the low motivation of students learning Arabic through kahoot media, the lack of implementation of the Arabic language learning process with a kahoot learning environment and whether the kahoot learning media influences student learning motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine students' learning motivation towards the learning process with the help of kahoot learning media, to determine the implementation of learning Arabic with the help of a kahoot learning environment and to determine the effect of students' use of kahoot media. on student motivation. This study was conducted at the Integrated Al-Qur'an An-Nawawi Surabaya by MT on Jl. Srengganan Lebar No. 30-32, Sidodadi, Kec. Simokerto, Surabaya City, East Java 60145. The population of this study were all students of class VIII MTs Al-Qur'an An-Nawawi, namely. 14 students and the sample includes the entire population. There is a difference in the average score between the experimental class and the control class, where the experimental class that uses kahoot learning media has a higher average score of 86.43 and tends to experience a significant increase compared to the control class with an average learning score of more low 65.71.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how to improve Arabic speaking skills in grade 7 MTS by using teaching materials, namely the book Al-Arabiyah Li Al-Nasyi'in volume 4. It can be concluded that improving these skills is as has been examined by researchers in the study the book that students can easily improve their Arabic speaking skills by using the book Al-Arabiyah Li Al-Nasyi'in because it contains stories, mufrodat making it easier to talk to the other person speaking as well as the inhibiting factors of the book that students find it difficult in speak Arabic because the sentences are difficult to learn. So far, the process of learning Arabic in class 7 MTS Darullughah wada'wah Bangil is in improving Arabic speaking skills with the Imla' method. So in this study, to improve the language skills of class 7 MTS teaching materials were used, namely the book Al-Arabiyah Li Al-Nasyi'in volume 4. The aims of this research are (1) to identify and describe the inhibiting factors for using Al-Arabiyah Li Al-Nasyi'in volume 4 to improve Arabic speaking skills in grade 7 MTS Darullughah wa Da'wah Bangil. (2) To find out and describe the strategy for using the book Al-Arabiyah Li Al-Nasyi'in volume 4 to improve speaking skills in grade 7 MTS Darullughah wa Da'wah Bangil. In this study the researcher used a qualitative method by using the results of interviews, documentation and observations from the results of the research which found that students used the book more easily in improving their speaking skills in Arabic because it can be learned for beginners.

Abstract

In learning activities, of course, all teachers want optimal results, but not all learning styles for each student are the same. So that their learning outcomes are also different. The background of this research problem is the difficulty or convenience of students in receiving Arabic lessons with different learning methods. The research question in this study is whether there is a relationship between learning styles and learning outcomes of Arabic for fifth grade students at SD Khadijah II Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between student learning styles and Arabic language learning outcomes for fifth grade students at SD Khadijah II Surabaya. This research method is quantitative. The population is all students of class V and a sample of 30 students. The data collection method used in this study is a questionnaire and documentation method, as well as statistical data analysis techniques that the authors use to analyze the data collected in this study using the product moment formula. Based on the calculations and data analysis that the researchers did in this study, the results of r count were greater than r table. on the r table at a significance level of 5% so that the hypothesis can be accepted. From the results of the consultation, it can be stated that rxy is 0.6449 greater than rtable at the 5% level of 0.361 which can be formulated as follows 0.6449 > 0.361 which indicates that there is a strong relationship between student learning styles and Arabic learning grades from V SD Khadija II Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of learning independence in Maharah Kalam during a pandemic. In this study, researchers used a quantitative approach to survey research. A total of 89 respondents participated in this study. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire instrument with descriptive statistical data analysis techniques using averages. Based on the results of the research, it is known that: 1) the learning motivation of Maharah Kalam students during the pandemic was included in the high category with an average of 4.21; 2) Student learning behavior in Maharah Kalam learning during the pandemic was in the high category with an average of 4.08; 3) Students' metacognition in Maharah Kalam learning during the pandemic was in the high category with an average of 4.10. Overall, Maharah Kalam's level of Self Regulated Learning  (SRL) during the pandemic was in the high category with an average of 4.14 Keyword: Self Regulated Learning, Maharah Kalam, Pandemic.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui tingkat Self Regulated Learning  (SRL)maharah kalam di masa pandemi. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei. Sebanyak 89 responden berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen angket dengan teknik analisis data statistik deskriptif dengan menggunakan rata-rata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa: 1) Motivasi belajar maharah kalam bagi mahasiswa di masa pandemi berkategori tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 4.21; 2)  Perilaku belajar mahasiswa dalam belajar maharah kalam di masa pandemi berkategori tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 4.08; 3) Metakognisi mahasiswa dalam belajar maharah kalam di masa pandemi berkategori tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 4.10. Secara keseluruhan  tingkat Self Regulated Learning  (SRL) maharah kalam di masa pandemi berkategori tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 4.14. Kata Kunci: Self Regulated Learning, Maharah Kalam, Pandemi.

Abstract

Textbooks are an important component in learning, therefore they must meet the criteria for textbooks that are suitable for use according to applicable regulations. Content analysis is a method for studying and analyzing something systemically and objectively to the messages that appear. The content of textbooks is a source of material in the learning process. Therefore, textbooks must comply with the applicable curriculum. Related to the analysis of Arabic textbooks, several studies have been found that examine the feasibility of Arabic textbooks. extbooks must meet the criteria for textbooks that are suitable for use which have been determined (BSNP). And the teaching material in it is a quality teaching material. The purpose of this study was to find out the class Arabic textbooks seven Published by Putra Kertonan. Does the textbook meet the standards (BSNP) and has met the quality of textbooks based on aspects of selection, gradation, presentation, and repetition.

Abstract

So far, Islamic boarding schools have been identical with their students who are good at religion as well as Arabic, but the fact is, there are many boarding school graduates who are good at speaking Arabic but can’t speak correctly with Arabic grammar, and then there are others who understand Arabic grammar (qawaid) correctly but can’t speak the Arabic language. This study aims to identify and analyze the language skills of modern Islamic boarding school students. Using field research conducted by interviewing various alumni of modern Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, this research contributes to Arabic language educators so that they can understand what causes the many alumni of modern Islamic boarding schools to be proficient in speaking but weak in Arabic grammar. The results of this study show that the modern Islamic boarding school education system is more open and requires students to speak in foreign languages, namely Arabic and English, without burdening students to use good and correct Arabic grammar when speaking and learning Arabic , and without studying classical books such as a salaf pesantren that studies and explores the rules of Arabic grammar and the meaning of the book's contents. This research is in the form of criticism and suggestions so that modern Islamic boarding school education can further improve the abilities of its students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the proficiency of students at the Faculty of Dirasatislamiyyah UIN Syarif in applying Hamzah Wasol and Hamzah Qot' and to examine the extent to which the imla' of lecturers influences students' proficiency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through written tests and interviews with students as well as direct observation of the imla' of lecturers. The results of the study show that the proficiency of students in applying Hamzah Wasol and Hamzah Qot' still needs to be improved, and the imla' of lecturers has a positive effect on students' proficiency in applying both hamzahs. This indicates that the role of lecturers is very important in helping to improve students' ability to learn Arabic.

Abstract

Language is the most important suggestion in communicating. Language also has its scientific value, one of the studies in linguistics or linguistics is pragmatics. In the discussion of pragmatics there is a study of deixis where a word has a meaning to refer to the meaning of something before. Deixis is a phenomenon of tagging contextual information by using lexical forms or grammatical distinctions whose information will only become clear when related to the context. Phenomena involving sentence expressions that cannot be separated from the context are referred to as deictic expressions. Meanwhile, some linguistic forms used to show something are called deitic. The Qur'an is a book that contains very deep meanings and is even progressive to study. If seen from the study of semantics, the Koran contains words that are full of meaning. On this occasion the researcher will conduct his study on Surah Al Waqi'ah and focus on the study of Persona Deixis

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of tools or media in evaluating student learning, especially in Arabic language fields or subjects, the lack of an evaluation process in learning.  and whether the evaluation board media has an effect learning.  This study aims to find out how to improve Arabic grammar skills (amil nawasikh) for grade 7 MTs Al-Amin Bintaro Ampenan by using evaluation board media.  It can be concluded that students will easily understand Arabic grammar (amil nawasikh) by using evaluation board media to describe sentence structures, grammar rules, and examples of using grammar visually.  Students can see directly how Arabic sentences are formed and understand the relationships between words in sentences.  The aims of this study were (1) to identify and describe the inhibiting factors for using evaluation board media to improve Arabic grammar skills in grade 7 MTs Al-Amin Bintaro Ampenan.  (2) to find out and describe strategies for using evaluation board media to improve Arabic grammar skills in grade 7 MTs Al-Amin Bintaro Ampenan.  In this study, researchers used qualitative methods by using the results of interviews, documentation, and observations from the results of the research which found that students used the media more easily in improving Arabic grammar skills because they could be learned for beginners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Arabic Speaking Skills (Maharah Al-Kalam) of Students of the Arabic Language Education Department at the College of Arabic Language Studies and Da'wah (STIBADA) at the Great Mosque of Sunan Ampel (MASA) Surabaya. Arabic Speaking Skills (Maharah Al-Kalam) Students of the Arabic Language Education Department at STIBADA MASA Surabaya still experience difficulties in speaking Arabic, especially in the kalam section due to 4 things, namely: 1) Low student motivation in learning Arabic. 2) Lack of mastery of Arabic vocabulary. 3) Lack of understanding of the rules of the Arabic language. 4) Students feel afraid when practicing Arabic with fellow students or lecturers. So that in this study by studying Arabic through Speaking Skills (Maharah al-kalam) with the Short Course design the methods used in learning Arabic are observation, interviews, socialization and training with a humanistic approach and the approach is in the form of short courses (lecture programs of duration short). The implementation of this short course is March - May 2023 with the results of the research, namely an increase in learning Arabic through the Short Course design seen from the results of the pretest and posttest scores.
