Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of Learning Cycle 5E learning model on concept mastery and creative thinking ability of students on renewable energy material at SMAN 1 Gerung. The research method used is a pseudo-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The research population used in this study were Phase E students of class X SMAN 1 Gerung. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique and obtained XH class students as experimental class and XK as control class. The research instrument includes a description test that measures mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills that have been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level of questions, and differentiation of questions. Data analysis used t-test and MANOVA. The results showed that the Learning Cycle 5E model significantly improved students' concept mastery and creative thinking skills compared to the conventional learning method. The average post-test score in the experimental group was higher than the control group, showing the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model on students' concept mastery and creative thinking on renewable energy material with a significance showing 0.000. So this model provides opportunities for participants to be more active, critical, and creative in the learning process, and helps students better understand abstract and complex concepts. The implication of this research is the need for the application of innovative learning models such as Learning Cycle 5E to improve the quality of physics learning in schools, so that students can achieve the skills demanded by the curriculum and be able to compete in today's educational challenges.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine how physics students at SMA Negeri 8 Mataram may improve their communication and creative abilities via the use of problem-based learning models with video support. That which isUsing a non-equivalent control group design, the research adopts a pseudo-experiment approach. The 159 participants in this research are from five different classes in Class X MIA SMA Negeri 8 Mataram during the 2023–2024 school year. We selected Class X MIA 4 (32 students) as our experimental group and Class X MIA 5 (31 students) as our control group using the purposive selection method. A video-assisted problem-based learning model was used by the experimental group for therapy, while a conventional model was employed by the control group. The data processing findings revealed that the control group had strong communication skills (69.70), but the experimental group had an average of 78.52. The control group averaged 76.84 on the creativity test, but the experimental group averaged 83.52. It has Results from the hypothesis test showed that a video-assisted problem-based learning model had a significant effect on both communication (tcount = 0.00) and creativity (tcount = 0.02) abilities, with a significance value of 0.00 for each variable, when we used a MANOVA test to evaluate the data. Thus, it is safe to say that the physics students at SMA Negeri 8 Mataram really benefit from the video-assisted problem-based learning approach when it comes to improving their communication and creative abilities

Abstract

21st century learning encourages students to have the ability to solve problems in the learning process.   This study aims to explore and assess the trends in research focusing on problem-solving abilities in physics learning. Employing descriptive and analytical methods, the data was sourced from documents indexed by Google Scholar between 2015 and 2024, using Publish or Perish and Dimensions.ai. The research followed PRISMA guidelines, analyzing publication types, sources, and frequently cited titles concerning problem-solving abilities in physics learning. Bibliometric analysis, supported by VOS viewer software, was utilized for data examination. The findings reveal a consistent increase in research on problem-solving abilities in physics education indexed by Google Scholar from 2015 to 2024. This trend indicates that such research has gained significant popularity among both new and experienced researchers. A substantial number of articles, proceedings, book chapters, and edited books address this topic. Common keywords in these studies include the STEM approach, critical thinking, creative thinking, physics problem-solving abilities, conventional learning, authentic assessment, etc.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the capacity for creative thinking is affected by the integration of causal learning model with character value learning. Quasi-experiment with untreated control group design and pretest-posttest methodology was the research design used. The research population amounted to 52 people, all of whom were students of class XI IPA SMAN 2 Labuapi. Saturated sampling was used in the research sample, by setting class X1 IPA 1 as the experimental class and class X1 IPA 2 as the control class. The control class received teaching using the traditional learning model, while the experimental class received teaching using the causal learning model combined with character values. The instrument used is a creative thinking ability description test that considers validity, reliability, difficulty level, and distinguishing power. In the experimental class, the average score of creative thinking ability was 83.77, while the control class obtained a score of 74.50. The data of both classes were normally distributed and homogeneous. The polled variance t-test was used at the 5% level to assess the data related to Creative Thinking Ability. 4.813 is the result of the analysis of creative thinking ability. This shows that there is a relationship between their ability to think creatively and the causal model combined with character values.

Abstract

This research is based on the low learning outcomes of students. One of the factors causing low student learning outcomes is teaching materials. Learning resources at SMAN 2 Rambatan use package books, but the school's package books are lacking, besides that bulky textbooks that make students lazy to carry the book. When viewed from teaching materials, examples of sample questions and discussions are lacking. In the learning process students only depend on the teacher's discussion. The purpose of this research is to produce valid and practical Guided Inquiry Based Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD). This research uses the Research and Development research method with the 4-D development model (define, design, development, and disseminate), but the stages in the 4-D model are only carried out from the first to the third stage, namely the define, design, and development stages. This study used research instruments in the form of validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used in this research are validity analysis techniques, practicality analysis. Furthermore, the results of the initial E-LKPD designed were continued in the validity and practicality tests. Guided Inquiry Based E-LKPD has met the valid criteria with validation results obtained 88%. Guided Inquiry-Based E-LKPD has met the practical criteria with the results of the 89% learner response questionnaire.
