Abstract

The literacy skills of students in Indonesia still face challenges despite the increase in PISA rankings, because literacy programs are not yet fully effective, and the limitations of varied learning resources. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of literacy programs and the availability of learning resources on students' literacy skills, as well as to examine the role of student involvement as a mediator in these relationships. The research method uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory-correlational design through the analysis of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using a sample of 173 grade XI students of SMAN 1 Mejayan who were selected by simple random sampling and data collection through a Likert scale questionnaire. The results of the study showed that literacy programs, the availability of learning resources, and student involvement had a positive and significant effect on literacy skills, but student involvement was not proven to be significant as a mediator. These findings confirm that improving literacy can be achieved through literacy programs that are integrated into learning and the provision of varied learning resources, both print and digital, with recommendations for schools and teachers to design more flexible and contextual literacy strategies. The novelty of this research lies in a conceptual model that tests student involvement as a mediating variable, thus providing a new picture of the implementation of literacy strategies in secondary schools in Indonesia

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Genially-based differentiated learning in enhancing students’ Arabic writing proficiency. Using a quantitative pre-test and post-test design, the research involved seventh-grade students at MTsN 4 Sidoarjo. Differentiated instruction was applied by adjusting content, process, and product based on students’ learning styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—through Genially’s interactive features such as multimedia presentations, quizzes, and animations. Data were collected via observation, interviews, documentation, and writing tests, and analyzed using paired-sample t-test and N-Gain calculations. The results showed a significant improvement in writing performance, with the average score rising from 62 to 85 and an N-Gain value of 0.61 (moderate–high). Students demonstrated better paragraph organization, idea development, vocabulary use, and grammatical accuracy, along with increased motivation and confidence. The study concludes that integrating Genially into differentiated learning effectively accommodates student diversity and improves Arabic writing skills. This approach aligns with the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka), emphasizing adaptive, student-centered, and technology-based learning. Teachers are encouraged to optimize digital media to create engaging, personalized, and future-oriented Arabic instruction

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of parenting styles on adolescent altruism. Altruism, defined as helping others without expecting anything in return, is an important aspect of adolescent social and moral development. This study involved three parents and three adolescents aged 16-17 years in Pahlawan Village, Medan Perjuangan District. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through interviews that measured parenting styles (authoritarian, democratic, and permissive) and levels of adolescent altruism. The results showed that democratic parenting had a significant and positive relationship with adolescents' altruistic attitudes. Adolescents raised in three democratic parenting styles tended to have higher altruistic attitudes. Conversely, authoritarian and permissive parenting did not show a statistically significant relationship with altruistic attitudes. This study concludes that parenting styles that emphasize discussion, emotional warmth, and the giving of responsibility (democratic) play an important role in shaping caring and helpful personalities. These findings have practical implications for parents and educators to focus more on approaches that promote empathy and cooperation in educating children

Abstract

This study explores Prophetic Ethics in Hadith Tolerance as the moral foundation for Muslims’ digital interactions, highlighting the relevance of prophetic moral values in shaping ethical online behavior. In an era characterized by rapid communication and moral fragmentation, the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings, embodied in the hadiths of rahmah (compassion), tasamuh (tolerance), hikmah (wisdom), and musyawarah (deliberation), offer a timeless ethical framework for guiding digital civility. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach through library-based content analysis, this research examines canonical hadith compilations (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Jami’ al-Tirmidhi, and Musnad Ahmad) and relevant classical commentaries to derive thematic moral categories and contextualize them within the ethics of digital communication. The findings reveal that the Prophet’s ethical model integrates emotional, intellectual, and social dimensions of morality: rahmah promotes digital empathy, tasamuh nurtures respect for diversity, hikmah cultivates reflective and responsible communication, and musyawarah encourages collaborative dialogue and consensus-building in digital spaces. Together, these principles form the “Prophetic Digital Ethics Framework,” an integrative moral paradigm that transforms online engagement into an arena of mercy, respect, and justice. This study contributes theoretically to Islamic moral scholarship by recontextualizing hadith ethics in digital life and practically by offering ethical guidance for fostering digital civility among Muslims in the contemporary era.

Abstract

This study examines the curriculum and learning system at Curriculum and Learning System at Daarul Ilmi Integrated Islamic Boarding School West Bandung within the framework of integrated Islamic education. Situated in the field of Islamic Education and Curriculum Studies, this research aims to analyze the structure of the Kulliyatul Mu’allimin Al-Islamiyah (KMI) curriculum, its instructional methods, and their implications for the development of students’ academic, linguistic, and character competencies. The KMI model was initially developed by Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor as a modern Islamic education system that integrates religious and general sciences. This topic is crucial as modern pesantren face challenges in harmonizing religious education, the national curriculum, and mastery of international languages. Therefore, a systematic study is needed to evaluate its effectiveness. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and curriculum document analysis. The findings reveal that the KMI curriculum is holistically integrated with the national education system, combining formal, non-formal, and informal learning, with Arabic and English used as primary instructional languages. Such integration simultaneously fosters academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character formation. The contribution of this study lies in presenting an adaptive and relevant model of integrated Islamic education that can serve as a reference for curriculum development in modern Indonesian pesantren

Abstract

This study critically examines the integration of the Islamic worldview into modern educational systems through the Islamization of knowledge framework, focusing on Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi's epistemological contributions. Employing qualitative library research with a character study approach, this research analyses primary sources, including Zarkasyi's scholarly works, alongside secondary literature from al-Attas and al-Faruqi. Findings reveal that contemporary Islamic education suffers from an epistemological crisis rooted in the uncritical adoption of secular Western paradigms that contradict tawhidic foundations. Zarkasyi proposes a three-stage framework: epistemic identification of secular assumptions, critical deconstruction of contradictory presuppositions, and reconstruction upon tawhid, prophethood, and Islamic ethics. This research demonstrates that Islamization transcends theoretical discourse, offering concrete solutions to the knowledge-value dichotomy plaguing Muslim education. The study concludes that authentic Islamic educational reform requires dismantling and reconstructing knowledge paradigms themselves, not merely administrative or methodological adjustments. Implications include curriculum redesign integrating Islamic worldview, establishment of interdisciplinary research centres, and teacher training in Islamic epistemology to produce graduates with balanced spiritual integrity and intellectual competence

Abstract

A harmonious family is a family that can maintain peace and is based on love (mawaddah) and affection (rahmah). One of the main purposes of marriage is to continue the lineage, maintain human dignity, and foster a quality generation. Tetanus toxoid (TT) vaccine immunization injections for prospective brides play an important role in maintaining the health of the mother and fetus from tetanus infection, which can cause disability and even death. Indirectly, tetanus toxoid vaccine immunization injections sociologically have an important correlation in forming a harmonious family. A harmonious family is not formed automatically, but is the result of various interrelated factors that are continuously maintained. The combination of religious values, psychosocial stability, health, economy, and social support greatly determines the success of forming a harmonious, loving, and compassionate family. This study uses a quantitative approach with a mixed methods method, namely a combination of numerical data analysis and qualitative exploration, in order to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon being studied. The main focus of this study is to examine the relationship between the implementation of TT vaccination injections and the formation of a harmonious family, accompanied by interviews and observations to explore the supporting factors that influence this correlation

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of curriculum management based on the POIE framework—Planning, Organizing, Implementing, and Evaluation—in improving institutional quality at MI Islamiyah Dinoyo Lamongan, a rural madrasah with various student backgrounds. Using quantitative approach was used to collect data from 38 respondents, including the principal, administrative personnel, and teachers. The measurement model results demonstrate that three dimensions of curriculum management (Planning, Organizing, Implementing, and Evaluation) meet validity standards; however, the Implementation indicator does not achieve the needed threshold, indicating inconsistencies between planned curriculum and instructional delivery. Institutional quality indicators (Leadership and Governance, Teacher Performance, Learning Outcomes, and Institutional Accreditation) have high validity, indicating their importance in measuring educational quality. Reliability tests show acceptable internal consistency for both constructs, with high Composite Reliability and AVE values indicating convergent validity. The findings show that curriculum management has a considerable impact on institutional quality, particularly in planning, organizational structure, and evaluation processes. However, the lack of execution highlights the need for greater pedagogical support. The study concludes that improving curricular implementation methods may boost overall institutional performance. This study helps to understand curriculum management in rural Islamic schools and has practical implications for increasing educational quality in similar circumstances

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed consumer behavior in interacting and transacting with products and services, including in the retail sector. Consumers now tend to actively seek information and make purchases through digital platforms, encouraging modern retailers to adapt by utilizing social media, customer applications, and data-driven promotions. In contrast, traditional retailers still rely on conventional promotions and social proximity. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of marketing campaigns between traditional and modern retailers in Medan City. The method used was a qualitative comparative study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the SWOT technique with the IFAS and EFAS matrices. The results show that modern retailers are more effective in marketing campaigns because they are able to reach a wider market, customize promotions personally, and measure results in real time. Meanwhile, traditional retailers have advantages in customer loyalty and emotional connections, but have not yet optimally utilized technology. This study emphasizes the importance of traditional retailers to gradually integrate digital technology without abandoning the power of personal interactions, while modern retailers need to continue strengthening data-driven strategies to remain competitive.
