Abstract

As stipulated in Islam, marital responsibilities will remain even after the marriage ends. Therefore, the term "maintenance" is known. The provision of maintenance is divided into two types: maintenance provided within marriage and maintenance provided outside of marriage. One type of maintenance provided outside of marriage is the iddah maintenance, which is the mandatory maintenance provided to the wife during her iddah period. However, its implementation deviates from the rules. The purpose of this study is to confirm the obligation of iddah maintenance for husbands. This type of research is an empirical juridical study with a case study approach. The research technique was conducted through observation and interviews with informants in Demangan Village, Bangkalan, using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. Analyzing the applicable regulations, it is clear that the provisions of maintenance are well-regulated. However, in reality, many residents of Demangan Village deviate and refuse to fulfill their maintenance obligations. This study contributes to strengthening the sense of responsibility of providing iddah maintenance for husbands to their ex-wives during the iddah period of divorce

Abstract

This article aims to describe the concept and urgency of child-rearing according to the Prophet Muhammad saw based on authentic hadiths, as well as to explain its contribution to shaping children's character from an Islamic educational perspective. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. Primary sources include authoritative hadith collections such as Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan at-Tirmidzi, and Musnad Ahmad. Secondary sources include hadith commentaries and contemporary Islamic educational literature. Data collection techniques were conducted through documentary studies, then analysed using content and thematic analysis approaches. Data validity was maintained through source triangulation and hadith quality checks using the takhrij method. The research findings indicate that the concept of the Prophet Muhammad's parenting style includes compassion, exemplary behaviour (uswah hasanah), respect for the child's existence, instilling manners, and early spiritual education. This pattern is not only normative but also practical and contextual for application in child-rearing in the modern era, which is filled with moral and social challenges. These findings contribute theoretically to the development of Islamic education science and practically to Muslim families in establishing sunnah-based parenting patterns.

Abstract

One of the strong beliefs among the Madurese community is the inevitability that the child of adultery will inherit the habits of the biological father who committed adultery. This study is called the heredity of the child of adultery. This view is rooted in a tradition that directly links the nature and character of children with heredity. This study uses an empirical legal method with a legal anthropology approach to examine in depth the practice of Madurese rejection of children resulting from adultery (children of adultery). Primary legal materials were obtained from observations and interviews with the Banyubunih Village community. Secondary legal materials were obtained from concepts relevant to the issues in the study. The results of this study identified that the Banyubunih community considers heredity as a very influential factor in determining the nature, character, and behavior of individuals, especially in children of adultery. This belief is based on the principles of biological determinism and hereditary essentialism, which argue that negative traits and deviant behavior are inherited through the "dirty blood" of parents. As a result, children born from extramarital relationships are placed in the lowest social position, without the opportunity to demonstrate their morals and behavior independently

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the negative impact of Roblox games on students who memorize the Qur'an and the preventive measures implemented at Al Masthuriyah Islamic Boarding School. Using a qualitative case study design and data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model, this study identifies three levels of Roblox playing intensity: low, moderate, and high. Students with low intensity play for 30 minutes to 1 hour, 1–2 times a week, as entertainment after memorization, with Islamic content options. The moderate group plays for 1–2 hours, 3–4 times a week, for online relaxation and socialization, while maintaining a balance between worship and academics. Meanwhile, the high group plays 2–4 hours or more almost every day, disrupting memorization time, congregational prayers, and sleep. Negative impacts include decreased memorization recall due to excessive stimulation, time management issues, and exposure to content contrary to Islamic values, such as inappropriate avatars, magic, or immoral interactions. The boarding school responded with a comprehensive strategy: gadget regulations based on age and memorization performance, access restrictions limited to Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, support for teachers, and digital literacy based on Islamic values. Students are taught the dangers of addiction from a Sharia perspective, such as wastefulness and negligence. These findings provide a technology management model that can be replicated by Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze family involvement in strengthening character education through the integration of Sundanese cultural values within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 2 Cibodas, Cimahi City. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and an intrinsic case study design, the research involved four months of participant observation, in-depth interviews with 15 parents, 6 teachers, and 10 students, as well as document analysis from school and community sources. The findings reveal that family involvement in character education remains limited due to economic constraints—41.2% of parents earn IDR 1–2 million per month—and long working hours, resulting in a 34% rate of student indiscipline. Sundanese values such as silih asih, silih asah, and silih asuh serve as moral anchors but have declined by 40% due to digital media exposure. The integration of the Merdeka Curriculum through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project offers an opportunity to revitalize local wisdom via a hybrid collaboration model between families and schools. Theoretically, this study extends Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory by incorporating digital literacy and school infrastructure as mediating variables, while practically proposing a local-culture-based family–school synergy model to reinforce students’ character development in urban settings

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of asset-based community development at SMK 2 LPPM RI Majalaya using qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal a significant gap between the availability of assets, including physical assets (workshops, laboratories), movable assets, and human assets (educators and students), and their collective mobilisation, attributed to the absence of a collaborative framework or "social contract" institutionalised within the school environment. To address this, the study integrated modern community development models such as Appreciative Inquiry and the BAGJA framework with local wisdom through the educational philosophy "Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madyo Mangun Karsa, Tut Wuri Handayani," resulting in culturally relevant and acceptable adaptations for the local community. The limitations of this study lie in its focus on a single case study and the use of qualitative methods alone, making it difficult to generalise the findings broadly. Therefore, further research with a more diverse scope and a mixed-methods approach is recommended to provide a more effective policy foundation for asset-based community development in vocational high schools

Abstract

This study examines the strategies and implementation of Islamic character education at Madrasah Aliyah Asshidiqiyah Karawang, with a focus on integrating Islamic values into the curriculum, teaching methods, and school culture. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings reveal a holistic approach that integrates Islamic values into both academic and extracurricular activities, such as project-based learning, congregational prayers, dhikr (remembrance), and social service programs. Teachers serve as primary role models, supported by parental involvement and school policies. Despite challenges like limited teacher training, external environmental influences, and less-than-optimal parental participation, the character education program significantly improved students’ discipline, honesty, and social responsibility. The study concludes that Islamic character education is effective when implemented comprehensively and collaboratively among schools, teachers, and families. It recommends enhancing teacher training, strengthening community partnerships, and conducting ongoing evaluations to ensure the program’s sustainability and success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the talaqq? musy?fahah method in Qur’an memorization learning at MTsS Al-Washliyah Tembung and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors that affect its effectiveness. This method relies on direct oral instruction between teacher and student, where the teacher recites a verse first and the students imitate it collectively or individually. The process continues with periodic memorization submissions, direct correction by the teacher, repetition (mur?ja‘ah), and memorization evaluation using a structured guidebook. The study adopts a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model techniques which include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results show that the application of the talaqq? musy?fahah method creates an interactive and profound learning atmosphere. It not only emphasizes technical aspects such as tajw?d and makhraj but also fosters emotional closeness between teacher and student. Despite challenges such as varying memorization abilities, high target loads, and a lack of independent practice, several supporting factors such as student motivation, discipline, intensive teacher guidance, and the use of murottal media help students make significant progress in memorization. Overall, the talaqq? musy?fahah method has proven effective in improving the quality of recitation, the quantity of memorized verses, and the students’ retention of Qur’anic passages. Therefore, the findings of this study can be a reference for Al-Quran educators, as well as an innovation and development

Abstract

Empathy is an essential skill in building healthy social relationships; however, in early adolescence, this ability is still developing and requires environmental support. This study aims to enhance students’ empathy through group counselling using the cognitive reappraisal technique at MTs IS Roudhotul Qurro. The research employed a qualitative case study approach involving eight Year VII students who demonstrated tendencies of low empathy in social interactions. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed using the Miles and Huberman model. The intervention was implemented over five progressive sessions, ranging from trust-building to the application of reappraisal in social simulations. The findings revealed a gradual increase in empathy, both during sessions and in daily life, including greater social engagement, communication initiative, and concern for peers. Follow-up monitoring also confirmed positive behavioural changes among the students. These findings demonstrate that the cognitive reappraisal technique is effective in enhancing students’ empathy both cognitively and affectively.
