Abstract

Unregistered marriage (nikah sirri) is a complex legal phenomenon in Indonesia, as it is considered valid under Islamic law but not recognized by state law due to a lack of registration. This research aims to analyze the impact of unregistered marriages on the status of wives, children, and property from the perspectives of Islamic law and Indonesian positive law. The method used is normative juridical research with conceptual, legislative, and fiqh approaches. Primary data sources include Law Number 1 of 1974 on Marriage, the Compilation of Islamic Law, and the Quran and Hadith, while secondary data are derived from relevant academic literature. The findings show that according to Islamic law, an unregistered marriage that fulfills the pillars and requirements is valid, thus wives, children, and property have the same status as registered marriages. However, under Indonesian positive law, unregistered marriages have no legal force because they are not registered at the Office of Religious Affairs or Civil Registry Office, resulting in wives lacking legal protection of their rights, children only having civil relations with their mothers, and joint property cannot be submitted to court without marriage confirmation (itsbat nikah). This research recommends the need for socialization on the importance of marriage registration and stricter law enforcement to protect the rights of women and children.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the distance learning model implemented under the Priority Program of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of online learning documents. The findings indicate that the distance learning model at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon integrates multiple approaches, including synchronous, asynchronous, blended learning, and collaborative models supported by a Learning Management System (LMS). This model has proven effective in enhancing accessibility and flexibility in Islamic religious education, as well as encouraging a paradigm shift toward student-centered learning. Nevertheless, the study also identifies several challenges, such as limited access to technology, inadequate internet connectivity, reduced social interaction, and issues related to students’ mental and emotional readiness. The study concludes that while the distance learning model is relatively effective in achieving the objectives of religious education, it requires stronger institutional policies, increased faculty capacity building, and sustained pedagogical innovation.

Abstract

Character education based on Islamic values is an important necessity inresponding to the challenge of moral degradation among elementary school students. Elementary schools, as the foundation of formal education, have a strategic role in instilling moral, spiritual, and social values in an integrated manner. This study aims to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of Islamic values-based character education at SD Negeri No. 107463 Paya Pasir. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results showed that character education based on Islamic values was implemented in an integrated manner through classroom learning, habit-forming activities, school culture, and extracurricular programs. This implementation is quite effective in shaping students' character, especially in terms of religiosity, honesty, discipline, responsibility, social awareness, leadership, and ethical decision-making skills in everyday life. The success of the program is supported by teachers' exemplary behavior, consistent religious habits, reinforcement of rules and behavior monitoring, and a conducive school climate. However, the study also found challenges in the form of differences in the family backgrounds of students, which affected the consistency of character behavior. These findings confirm that Islamic values-based character education in public elementary schools has strong potential to shape ethical and responsible behavior, provided that there is continuous synergy between schools and families.

Abstract

This study examines traces of Orientalism in the construction of modern Islamic scholarship as an epistemological issue in contemporary Islamic studies. The main focus of the study is to identify how categories of knowledge, standards of truth, and scholarly authority regarding Islam are formed, institutionalised, and reproduced in modern academic traditions. The research uses a qualitative method based on a literature study with a historical-critical approach to academic texts from three traditions: classical Orientalists, post-Orientalist thinkers, and Muslim scholars. The data are analysed comparatively to trace patterns of continuity and transformation of epistemic categories used in Islamic studies. The results show that modern Islamic studies operate within the framework of epistemic categories such as objectivity, historicism, textual criticism, and scientific methodology rooted in Western scientific traditions. Islamic scientific traditions tend to gain academic legitimacy to the extent that they can be translated or harmonised with these categories. The dominance of Orientalism is therefore not only a historical legacy but also works structurally through the university system, curriculum, and mechanisms of publication and global scientific legitimacy. This study contributes by systematically mapping these epistemic mechanisms, thereby expanding the analysis of Orientalism from the level of discourse representation to the level of operational structures in contemporary academic practice

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Islamic Religious Education through religious culture in two public schools with distinct characteristics: SMAN 9 Garut (general senior high school) and SMKN 7 Garut (vocational high school). Employing a qualitative, descriptive case study approach, the research explores how religious culture is developed, its supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on students' religious character. Findings reveal that both schools utilize routine, incidental, and daily cultural programs, demonstrating similarities in execution while adapting to their specific contexts. Success factors include strong leadership commitment and active IRE teacher involvement, whereas challenges stem from varying student motivation and limited non-IRE teacher engagement. Notably, SMKN 7 Garut faces additional constraints due to facility limitations and demanding vocational schedules. The study concludes that religious culture significantly shapes students' character across spiritual, social, academic, and vocational dimensions, offering an adaptive model for IRE integration and practical recommendations for educational administrators

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education learning plays an important role in shaping students' religious understanding, attitudes, and behavior. However, the PAI learning process in schools still tends to be teacher-centered, so students' understanding of the material has not developed optimally. This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' understanding and to determine students' responses to the application of the Course Review Horay (CRH) learning model with Bingo media in IRE learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 41 ninth-grade students at one of the public junior high schools in Bandung Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through understanding tests and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed an increase in students' understanding after the application of the CRH learning model with Bingo media. The average pretest score of 76.83 increased to 87.80 in the posttest, and all students achieved learning mastery. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (Asymp. Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), while the N-Gain results were in the moderate category. In addition to improving understanding, this study also provided a positive response to the implementation of this learning model, although several obstacles were still encountered in the initial stages of implementation and student learning independence. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Course Review Horay learning model using Bingo media is effective in improving student understanding and is suitable for use in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning with improvements in the management of learning implementation.

Abstract

This study examines a religious literacy learning model based on women’s fiqh with the integration of digital literacy in vocational education at SMK Islam Sudirman 1, Ambarawa. The study focuses on strengthening students’ understanding of menstruation, postpartum bleeding, and istihāḍah (non-menstrual bleeding) as essential aspects of women’s worship practices. Initial observations indicate that students’ understanding remains limited to basic rules without a deeper explanation of biological conditions and their implications for religious practice. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. There were 33 informants, consisting of a principal, two Islamic Religious Education teachers, and 30 female students from grades X–XII. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation over a two-month implementation period. Data analysis was conducted thematically through stages of data organisation, interpretation, and meaning construction. The findings reveal improvements in five dimensions of religious literacy: cognitive, analytical, affective, psychomotor, and epistemic. Students demonstrate a better ability to explain legal foundations, distinguish biological conditions, and determine worship practices more accurately. The integration of menstrual cycle tracking applications and digital fiqh texts supports access to reliable religious references. Supporting factors include school policy support, the presence of female teachers, dialogic learning approaches, and the availability of digital learning resources. Limiting factors include restricted access to technological devices, student fatigue, and initial discomfort when discussing sensitive topics.

Abstract

The linguistic quality of Arabic textbooks is very important for optimal learning at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. Linguistic errors, inconsistent terminology, poor readability, and ambiguous instructions can hinder student comprehension and increase cognitive load. This study aims to evaluate the linguistic suitability of fifth-grade Arabic textbooks published by Nur Hidayah Press in accordance with the guidelines set by the Education Curriculum and Assessment Standards Agency (BSKAP). This research uses a qualitative descriptive methodology through library research. Data were collected through documentation methods by analyzing the linguistic elements of the textbooks, including grammatical accuracy, terminology consistency, sentence clarity, and linguistic simplicity, using twelve linguistic feasibility metrics provided by BSKAP. The results showed that the textbook received a total score of 35 out of 48 (72,92%), categorized as acceptable. Although it generally complied with language standards, there were several shortcomings in terminology consistency, sentence complexity, and instruction clarity. Specific language changes are needed to improve readability, consistency, and instruction clarity for better learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the strengthening of students’ religious character education through Islamic values at SD Negeri 106232 Penggalangan. The research is grounded in the growing concern over moral decline, low discipline, and weakening spiritual awareness among elementary students, and the limited empirical studies in public primary schools. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that religious character education is implemented in a planned, structured, and sustainable manner through the integration of school culture, written policies, teacher role modeling, and religious habituation activities. These practices contribute to improvements in students’ self-control, discipline, responsibility, worship orderliness, and social interactions. Supporting factors include a strong school culture, teacher exemplarity, and parental involvement, while constraints involve limited time and students’ diverse backgrounds. This study contributes empirical evidence that Islamic values can effectively strengthen religious character education in public primary schools when implemented comprehensively and consistently.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the effect of applying the Card Sort learning model and student learning styles on learning outcomes in Fiqh at MAS Al Ishlahiyah Binjai. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a post-test only control group design. The research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year with a population of all 55 students in class X at MAS Al Ishlahiyah Binjai, using a saturated sampling technique. Class X-1 with 25 students was designated as the experimental class that was given the Card Sort learning model treatment, while class X-2 with 25 students was designated as the control class that used conventional learning. The independent variables in this study were the Card Sort learning model and student learning styles, while the dependent variable was the learning outcomes in Fiqh, which were measured through a multiple-choice cognitive test (post-test) that had been tested for validity and reliability with a reliability coefficient of 0.705. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, variance homogeneity test (Levene Test), and hypothesis testing using Independent Sample t-test and ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average learning outcome of the experimental class was 84.32, which was higher than that of the control class, which was 71.56. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and the hypothesis test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (Sig. < 0.05), so it can be concluded that the Card Sort learning model and learning style had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of Fiqh subjects at MAS Al Ishlahiyah Binjai.
