Abstract

Sex education at the junior high school level is an important aspect in shaping the character and self-awareness of adolescents regarding the biological, psychological, and social changes they experience. This study aims to examine sex education as a shared responsibility between teachers, parents, and students by highlighting effective communication patterns in its implementation. The method used is a literature review (library research) with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data was collected through a review of various journals, academic books, and recent research reports discussing sex education collaboration in schools and families. The results of the study show that open and empathetic communication between teachers, parents, and students is a key factor in the success of sex education. Teachers act as facilitators who convey scientific knowledge and moral values contextually, while parents serve as primary educators who instill moral norms and responsibilities at home. The synergy of two-way communication between schools and families has been proven to increase students' understanding of sexuality issues and reduce risky behaviour. This study emphasises that effective sex education must be designed collaboratively, be sensitive to culture and religion, and be oriented towards the formation of healthy and responsible attitudes. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of adaptive and sustainable sex education communication models in formal education and family environments

Abstract

To analyze the management strategies implemented by the Cooperatives and SMEs Office of Batu Bara Regency in improving the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study also aims to examine three main aspects of management strategies: marketing strategies, financial strategies, and human resources (HR) strategies, to determine the effectiveness of their implementation in supporting the development of MSMEs in the region. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The types of evidence used in this study include primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews and direct observation of employees of the Cooperatives and SMEs Office of Batu Bara Regency and assisted MSMEs, while secondary data came from office documents, activity reports, and literature related to MSME development policies. All data were analyzed descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to obtain a comprehensive picture of the management strategies implemented in improving the competitiveness of MSMEs. The findings indicate that the marketing strategy focuses on digital marketing training but lacks ongoing mentoring. The financial strategy facilitates business legality and access to financing, but faces structural and literacy barriers. Human resource training improves technical skills but remains inconsistent. Overall, management strategies are not fully aligned with the needs of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness and accuracy of a demand forecasting based production system to reduce excess stock at the Ayam Geprek Bu Novi culinary business on Jl. Bukit Barisan. Using a quantitative approach, the research applies time series forecasting techniques consisting of Moving Average (MA), Weighted Moving Average (WMA), and Exponential Smoothing (ES). Weekly demand data from February to May 2025 were collected and analyzed to measure prediction accuracy and to evaluate the impact on raw material efficiency. The results show that the 3 week WMA method provides the highest responsiveness to rising demand trends and produces forecasts that are closest to actual sales. In comparison, the 6 week MA method and ES with alpha 0.2 provide more stable performance when demand fluctuations are relatively low. The application of these simple Excel based forecasting models enables micro, small, and medium culinary enterprises (MSMEs) to align production more accurately with actual demand, thereby reducing overstock and improving operational efficiency. This study demonstrates that data driven decision making using easy to use forecasting tools can support MSMEs in optimizing inventory control and maintaining production sustainability. The findings offer practical insights for small fast food businesses that need adaptive inventory management solutions without complex systems or high implementation costs.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of compassion (al-rahmah) in family education based on prophetic hadiths and examines its contribution to childrens mental health. Using a qualitative method with a library research approach, this study analyzes primary hadith sources, classical commentaries, and contemporary psychological literature. The findings identify seven core hadiths that emphasize compassion, gentleness (rifq), physical expressions of affection, age-appropriate moral training, and responsible family leadership (kullukum rain) as fundamental elements of Islamic educational ethics. Interpretations by classical scholars such as An-Nawawi, Al-Ghazali, and Ibn Qayyim demonstrate that compassion is not only a moral virtue but also a structured educational strategy that aligns with modern mental health theories. Compassionate family practices positively influence childrens emotional security, stress regulation, empathy, self-confidence, and long-term psychological resilience. Conversely, a lack of affection increases vulnerability to anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and mental health risks in adulthood. Therefore, family education grounded in Islamic compassion serves as both a religious mandate and a strategic psychological investment to develop mentally healthy, emotionally balanced, and resilient future generations.

Abstract

This study analyzes the potential of microinsurance implementation to enhance the economic empowerment of rural communities in Singkuang Village, Muara Batang Gadis District, Mandailing Natal Regency. The research background is based on the condition of the majority of MSMEs, who still face business risks without adequate financial protection. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, through interviews, observation, and documentation, as well as a SWOT analysis. The results show that MSMEs' internal strengths outweigh their weaknesses (IFAS 3.541 > 3.103) and opportunities outweigh their threats (EFAS 3.157 > 2.264), placing MSMEs in Quadrant I (aggressive strategy). Microinsurance is considered relevant because it offers affordable premiums, simple administration, and fast claims, while also encouraging a culture of risk management. However, challenges remain in the form of low financial literacy and limited access to information. Therefore, education, mentoring, and support from the government and financial institutions are needed. Overall, the implementation of microinsurance has great potential to strengthen business resilience and rural economic empowerment if accompanied by increased literacy, access to capital, and accessible product distribution.

Abstract

This article examines the determination of relatively high dowries (mahar/maskawin) in Lampung Melinting traditional marriages in East Lampung and their conformity with Islamic law and Indonesian marriage law. Using an empirical juridical approach, data were collected through interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, community figures, and married couples, supported by statutory and conceptual materials. The findings show that the amount and form of dowry are not fixed, but are negotiated through family deliberation, taking into account the groom’s economic capacity and the expectations of the bride’s family within local custom. A high dowry is perceived as a symbol of pride, social status, and the groom’s seriousness in building a household, but it may also trigger social pressure, land sales, and economic burden. From the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, there is no minimum or maximum standard of dowry as long as it is lawful, valuable, and agreed upon willingly. The study concludes that the Lampung Melinting practice of determining dowry reflects a dynamic interplay between religious norms, state law, and living custom, which needs continuous contextualization in modern society and justice.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) curriculum at SMP Muhammadiyah 01 Medan, focusing on its relevance, pedagogical practices, assessment systems, and supporting institutional factors. Using a qualitative case-study design, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving teachers, students, parents, and school documents. The findings reveal that the AIK curriculum is perceived as normatively strong, emphasising akhlaq, ibadah, and Qur’anic understanding, yet remains limited in addressing contemporary issues, particularly digital ethics and media-literacy challenges commonly experienced by adolescents. Classroom practices were dominated by lecture-based instruction, although discussion and project-based learning were present in several sessions. Parental involvement in religious activities was relatively high, but communication regarding students’ behavioural development was inconsistent. Assessment practices largely relied on written examinations, with minimal use of authentic or performance-based evaluations. Structural constraints including outdated textbooks, limited teacher professional development, and low technological integration, further hindered optimal curriculum enactment. Overall, the study concludes that while the AIK curriculum provides a solid normative foundation, its effectiveness is constrained by pedagogical, structural, and contextual limitations. The study recommends enriching the curriculum with contemporary Islamic digital-ethics content, strengthening teachers’ capacities in student-centred and technology-supported pedagogies, improving communication systems with parents, and expanding authentic assessment methods. These improvements are expected to enhance the curriculum’s relevance and its capacity to cultivate holistic Islamic character development aligned with the demands of the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of moral and social education in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and its relevance to modern Islamic education. What distinguishes this study from previous studies is the use of implicit hadiths in explaining moral and social educational values that have never been discussed before. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, accompanied by three main methods, namely literature study, documentation, and contextual analysis, data were collected directly from hadith texts that specifically discuss moral and social education, as well as various supporting literature, including books on hadith interpretation, scientific journal articles, previous studies, and Islamic education literature relevant to this topic. The results of the study show that moral and social education are two integral dimensions that cannot be separated. The Prophet's hadiths emphasise the value of piety, the habit of doing good deeds, the virtue of morals as an indicator of the perfection of faith, and the importance of ukhuwah, solidarity, and mutual assistance in social life. These values are highly relevant to the needs of modern Islamic education, which demands a balance between spiritual, moral, and social aspects amid the challenges of character degradation and individualism. This study emphasises the importance of internalising the values of hadith in the curriculum through habit formation, role modelling, and character building to shape a generation with noble character. Further research is recommended to develop an operational curriculum model based on the integration of moral and social values and to conduct comparative studies to assess the effectiveness of the methods of internalising hadith and riyadah al-nafs in various educational contexts

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher innovation and challenges in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Using a library research approach, this study examines various credible scientific sources to build a comprehensive understanding of AI integration in PAI learning. The findings indicate that AI supports personalized learning through data analysis and recognition of student learning patterns, expands access to learning resources in various formats, and creates interactive learning experiences through simulations and visualizations. Innovations in AI utilization include self-directed learning, Quranic learning applications with voice recognition features, educational chatbots, virtual assistants, and Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies that enrich learning experiences. However, the implementation of AI also presents several challenges, such as limited infrastructure and technology access, potential reduction of humanistic interaction between teachers and students, and excessive dependence on technology. Therefore, AI should be positioned as a strategic partner for teachers rather than a replacement, maintaining a balance between technological innovation and the spiritual essence of religious education. A wise and well-directed integration of AI is expected to strengthen the quality of PAI learning in responding to the dynamics of the digital era.
